and the weed is good... better then good...best weed we have had in many years. great sweet tasting, incredible high, and long lasting... the buds looked like shit..and not in a good way, small and airy, but man was it good... it reminded us of the herb from 25/30years ago... without the seeds...

now we r back and have to smoke some of our own grown weed... sdibl,cdd from rez,black dom, ssh from mr nice, amongth others...n it is a big letdown... the herb we r growing is not in the same league...

I think it was DJ Short that said he tried to grow Hawaiian strains outside of Hawaii and they just werent the same, must be something magical goin on on those islands.

I have always found something special in outdoor buds that you just dont get with even the finest indoor, some strains just shine when grown in real sun light. Some of the best herb I have ever smoked was outdoor, and didnt look nearly as pretty as my indoor buds.

I agree with Iron....... the same can be said for some indoor strains grown outdoors, they just dont turn out the same. I went to Maui a couple of summers ago and scored some amazing pakalolo..... bought it from a dude near a secluded local beach some chick showed us. Had golden hairs, (only seen that a couple of times )medium trichs, a little leafy, but GOD DAMN it got us ripped! I felt high school high.... if ya catch my meaning. Laughed, got paranoid, laughed some more, swam and played, laughed, got paranoid, then got the fuckin munchies. Loved it.........

I found the same to be true in Jamaica, and Thailand. The buds looked like crap, seeds and everything, but the high was amazing. Some of this herb I got down in Jamaica was downright spiritual, took your head off your shoulders. Looked like mids.

Maybe being in the right mental state on vacation made the high appear more enjoyable and intense.

Here in Costa we've been getting some SUPERLATIVE Jamaican brick that echoes Headees statement about Spiritual... Guess Cannabis has always been considered a Sacrament.

Minty, piney and peppery in the bag... Sweet and skunky when smoked.

I shared all mine while at Montezuma beach several weeks ago and it was a very special experience.

Perfect strangers became Brothers and Sisters and all was joy and harmony.

i agree the mental state (or in my case lack of same) has a lot to do with the high... but this shit was gooood...real goood... most def better then the various beans we have grown...

is there better weed elsewhere...i dunno, but if there is, i wanta vacation there next....

I had the same experience on maui a few times some of the smoothest stuff I have smoked, drive up haleakala before sunrise and burn a fatty!

I hear people say don't go there the locals are racist and it's dangerous, that is bullshit.. if you respect other human beings you will make great connections. I didn't pay for herb once, just got to show some respect treat people well.

It's hit or miss in Hawaii I believe.. I have a really good buddy who moved to the states from Maui and constantly would tell me on the regular of how much better the herb over here is than the islands..

To me , and it may be just me, I grew ChemD outdoors this past Summer USA, and have it in clone form right now indoors...The outdoor ChemD is astoundingly potent, far more potent than my ChemD that we grow indoors....It is the Great Halide In The Sky, god's Mixed Spectrum that does the trick....And the same thing goes for Veggies that are grown Outdoors VS Indoors grown Hydro Veggies...Things were definitely meant to be grown Outdoors the way Nature intended it to be done....Unfortunately with Marijuana Laws and changing of the Seasons it is harder to do...Holla!!!!

Yes Costa Rica it is... the low grade brick they push is garbage and full of mold. Ammonia smell all over!

The Jamaican brick is sold by some folks connected to the Jamaican mafia. That is the one I am talking about.

You can also tell by the seeds; Central American brick has small brown seeds while Jamaican comes with huge seeds and not as many as the garbage brick most peddlers try to sell.

Those jokers were trying to make a quick buck.

Jamaican will give you the piney, minty, peppery aroma as brick with ZERO ammonia or mold. It looks green and fresh.

And as I pointed out the smoke smells sweet and skunky.

I use to live in Oahu, and was in tight with many of the local grower's.
Basically, it's not what you know, but who you know that determines what kind of bud you can score over there, and, what price you will pay.

You can still live in Hawaii and score shitty, over priced weed. It makes all the difference in the world if you have a local buddy that knows where to find the "crip".

I still remember the good old days of flying over to Puna and scoring Puna Butter from a grower I knew. We were paying back then, $110 per zip, unmanicured.

Nowadays, I would imagine a zip of good Hawaiian bud would cost you $ 400 -500 all day long
