With a bit of an eye on a bit of a detail: do you have shutoffs for your waterlines installed on the supply side?

Baseboard heat? Don't install a toilet! Even with your MMJ papers in order, they'd try and bust you an illegal residence out there!

Apple and Head... Thanks for the kind words, and for now the snow is gone :(

IF... Yes shutoffs at the feed in and in the shed. As far as the baseboard goes, its just to keep it warm enough when its dark, and its about 8" above the ground. No, no toilet, I can walk in the house for that :)

Anyone have an idea how big of a dehumidifier I should have for this, thanks for the help.

So I guess numboard changed his post before I could respond. He said he knew where this place was and had walked by thinking it would be a good grow room. I just wanted to tell him to stop by and say high :smoweed:

welol im not saying that numboard is any kind of thief or anything, but if he can recognize your grow, then so can others.....bad move man.....you could wake up one morning and find your shed ripped into.....

loose lips sink ships....it only takes one person with a bad mindset to do you wrong....

Oh man Joe your preaching to the choir here. He was just making a funny. You cant see it walking by and no way could you hear anything. I have read the boards about good friends gone bad and ex's that do the revenge thing, so I am of the belief "If you don't put yourself in the position, you don't have to worry about it" right?

Ya Raphen, it will be fun when it is all together and running smooth.

I have my seven 16" wall fans coming tomorrow and my 65 pint dehumidifier coming on the 9th, the a/c units should be here around the same time. I plan to have the shed done and running by the 11-12 of Dec. Will keep all updated till then.

If any should have advice, please speak now.

Thanks for everything, SP

RE the dehumidifier. I'm not sure what levels you are going to be dealing with but I ended up doing a modification on mine.

I found myself having to empty it too often so I drilled a hole towards the bottom of the res and put a simple fitting in. I then attached 1/2 inch tubing to it and ran it outside so I never had to empty it again.

That being said you got snow there so you'd have to be careful about freezing, but if you got a sink in there, you could just put the dehumidifier next to the sink, elevate it so the water runs down with gravity, and tie it into the sink drain.

Just a suggestion if you find yourself having to empty the dehumidifier more then you want to.

I found a great buy at the local reused goods store. 10 bucks each for 2 20 inch commercial grade fans. They will be a ground air circulatory tool. 7 16" wall fans in there should do you good though. The dehum modification is a great idea, however some come with a extra piece that adapts it to tank-less use. Although, I still haven't figured out how it actually works.

The only recommendation I have is to keep us posted so we have more stuff to drool over.

Oh by the way, growing or not.... I like your shed design... low profile good for outdoor tools, mower and other related items. What do you think the cost comparison would be from that to a "regular style" same size structure?

Yeah, both mine come with the ability to auto drain them (which I did, but twas a bitch hooking up the hoses).

Satan, a 65 pint dehuey is going to be undersized, depending on how you grow (i.e., Krusty-type 70% humidity until late flower, than you can get away with it until then).

Unless your ACs are running pretty steadily (which obviously dehumidify as they cool), then you're gonna need at least one more of that unit for late flowering.

Sorry to always be the bearer of bad news on this thread, it's not my intention at all........

LOL Bob, its good that you say that. For a min I thought you were out to get me. But seriously, I appreciate all the help.

This grow is my first one of this size. I help out a couple of friends that have this size grow but only transplanting , taking clones and such. They run the rooms for the most part by themselves. I try to talk to them about optimizing their space and grow from what I have seen on here, but to no avail. So they're stuck with decent smoke and decent crop size, it could be so much better.:dunno: Hopefully mine will go good enough and they can see more potential for theirs.

Alright, so heres the latest update. A/C units and fans will be here Mon(Shipping delays). Dehumidifier will be here Fri, so that means that by next weekend we should be growing some.:jump:

Pics to come when the room is finished. If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to post them.

Head.... The dehuey has the drain option and thats a good idea about the sink, I will think on that.

Rap.... I have tried the thrift stores here and not had much luck so Htg had these and I just said wtf and bit the bullet. As far as the shed goes I have about 13 into it now and thats going to be in dirt and pots, I will be asking more ?'s as time goes by, cause I really want to be only hydro and still not sure which style to go with. I know Bob said he is starting from scratch with his and he had 10 into that before any of the equipment.

Bob.... I went to cosco and couldnt find a 75 gallon dehuey so I guess I will have to get another 65 pint in the future.:tiphat:

Thanks again all, SP

Thanks for the answer, I'm so stoked on sending good vibes for the future of this wonderfulness. I was more curious about structure cost... even before all this. I put some stuff together in my head and think that the style of structure would be a bit more in cost but use a bit less material wise.

Hey Rap, if you can do the work yourself it will cost less. As far as the original cost goes , I am not sure, It was here when I bought my house. It started leaking a little, so I was going to get it fixed anyway. I am not a carpenter so I had to employ some friends to come help. As far as materials go, I am probably around 8-9. Hope that helps, and if you decide to venture that way in the future, then good luck. SP

Thanks conky I am hoping so too.

Well the fans and the A/C got here yesterday so we will be boxing them in and hopefully the room will be up and running in a couple of days. As soon as it is, pics will be up.

Stay tuned, SP

Always ran my dehuey`s runoff back to my R/O tanks for free 0 ppm H2O and they came with drain tubing I just tied onto .........and yeah......Bob`s as bad as I ever was bout tryin ta help yas not "undersize" anything so it won`t cost yas twice down the road.........

Did yas get the a/c`s with "auto-restart" mode ?.......At least you`re on site and can watch shit........ 2-24000 btu units will haveta work till yas get enough return on investment ta upgrade.....

Never needed more than 65 pint dehuey`s along with the wall-bangers for the assist and I live in Hell with 80% RH 24/7/365.......but.....that was in 10 x 10`s with only 4 plants , and then smaller rooms with more plants once I got away from krusty buckets runnin flip rooms.......still.....

2 of em oughta handle shit till yas can get a Santa Fe thats uses half the power and does twice the work.........costs out the ass , but works forever.....Got a Gro Bro in Norcal that`s been usin the same unit over a decade when they first came out.......

Hope all goes well for yas.......DHF.........:ying:.......

Raphen- I built my 12x8x8 shed with 2x4 walls, osb siding, drywalled, mudded, ran 2 20a breakers from my main panel at the house underground, metal door + strong deadbolt, fully roofed.Total was about 13-$1400 I believe and I bought most everything from casa depot. I think you could put one together the same size as SP's with taller walls for about $2500 if you DIY.

SP what a awsome space you got to work with im jealous! your doing an awesome job I cant wait to see some ladies in there. Looks like your not cutting any corners and its well thought out.smart! I have a 12x8 shed I built myself from start to finish for my meds:dance013:It was tough.I can get some pics if ya want.. Only regret is I wish I ran water out there. Was running the water out to yours hard? Are there any problems with the cold weather freezing the pipes?
mind if i ask what state your in?
