Ancient Aliens & The Event

C

CLOWD11

Heres some info for those interested in a real event that took place in Melbourne Australia 44 years ago. I do not understand how people can dismiss such evidence. It must be the "if i cant feel/see it, then its not real" type mentality that must subject the owner to a dull life littered with arrogant denial.

the head of the nazi propulsion development program is quoted as saying " we got the all the nformation of propulsion from "men from another world"...
Things that can be taken out of context: "men from another world" could have meant men from other places in the world. Some folks live in their own world like those of the "not sees" i mean nazi's.....all honesty the not sees were aliens, their thoughts were "alien" and that means none human.....the things they did made "alien" sense and that means it made none....mo...off in my own world;)

ones mind can be the alien...

Are you suggesting that Nazis who believed that they were the most supreme race on Earth to the degree that they would kill everyone who wasn't, would get help from another race to learn to be superior?

The Nazis did develop some fine machinery unfortunately with the help of prisoners.Prototypes were seen at the Thames and even in New York during WWII.

Ancient aliens...man the history channel actually used to have useful and academic stuff on it. Now it has sold out and become a whore like everyone else. If you want paper upon paper for why alien stories are complete BS, look at some of sagan's papers and many others. There are a plethora of papers explaining why aliens are a myth (not in general; just the ones purported to have visited earth recently or in the past) from every angle.

Edit: in regards to swastikas, Germany are the only people to have used this symbol. Native Americans and other peoples used the same symbol but reversed. Also, if there were aliens during Hitler's time why would we not have proof? We had picture/video/record taking abilities then.
from: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ancient_astronauts
In their 1966 book Intelligent Life in the Universehttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ancient_astronauts#cite_note-5 astrophysicists I.S. Shklovski and Carl Sagan devote a chapter to arguments that scientists and historians should seriously consider the possibility that extraterrestrial contact occurred during recorded history.

Just sayin...

History channel has become a joke, pawn stars (chum lee), aliens, bigfoot, truckers, tree trimmers. A complete Joke. Its shell of what the channel used to be.

Comming from a person who can't spell entertainment? JK.LOL

I really haven't got the chance to watch this show, it seems kinda interesting.

I found this video looking for some of the AA shows, check this one out, its of a Senior Research Engineer, Boyd Bushman from Lockheed Martin Skunk Works. I found it to be entertaining.

Actually watched them, and as I said I find them entertaining.

Well of course that's false. Most of the major mysteries that the show's experts claim to solve by inventing stories of aliens and space travel have been studied and explained at length by researchers in the respective fields. Your statement is only true for people whose only knowledge of these issues comes from TV shows and new age pseudoscience culture. It sounds like you're the only one taking the extreme view that the claims in these shows are logical truths, most people are saying they are interesting thought experiments that could hold truth.

Sorry its not a youtube video or TV show. Its a scholarly article with a detailed investigation of the map and the pseudoscience claims about it.

Ok i will give you the map could be of earthly origins... i got a little carried away with that one perhaps. It just struck me as solid evidence when i read Chariot of the Gods many moons ago.

Care to explain away the Dogons' intimate knowledge of the Sirius system?

1. I have watched more than one episode including the most recent one.
2. I have now researched further (in response to someone's calling me out on my incorrect statement) and I admit that there is use among other cultures of both clockwise and counter-clockwise swastikas.
3. I have studied this subject extensively in a university setting. Bioastronomy (upper division) specifically and I've touched on the subject (in)directly in many other classes... I have essay upon essay debunking the plethora of alleged alien encounters (unfortunately not in digital format). These essays take the form of psychological explanations, sociological explanations, scientific explanations for how seemingly impossible things happened, and physiological explanations for why people could think they saw aliens; most people really do genuinely believe they saw aliens and aren't just lying for attention.
4. I agree that there are interesting points brought up but to claim aliens is just too far of a stretch. There is a plethora of evidence to suggest otherwise and there is not a single shred of legitimate (at least what I consider legitimate...) evidence of alien encounters throughout all of recorded history.
5. I'm sorry if some people got offended by my earlier post - it was not intended to be as such (3 people found my post 'unhelpful' lol).

To all the naysayers... There is an amazing amount of physical evidence and eyewitness testimony to support the existence of extraterrestrials, as well as their visitation throughout the ages. If you haven't taken the time to examine it, then your opinion means nothing. You people are no different than those who cried, "Heretic, burn the witch!" when people spoke of the earth being round, instead of flat. Non-belief, in spite of tremendous evidence to the contrary, is much like religion in many ways.
See above. Also I would love to see your physical evidence...eyewitness testimony has already been 100% debunked by many scientists and not valid at all IMO

Look, I understand that the way in which these issues are presented can be very convincing if we let our guard down. This is why researching a variety of sources on these topics is important before making conclusions, particularly paying attention to the sources themselves, what their credentials are, and what their motives are.

What you realize is that much is known about a lot of the mysteries presented in these programs, that researchers in the fields of archaeology, anthropology, historical and religious studies have rational and logical explanations for many of the phenomena. But some how these sources are considered too mundane or boring for TV shows because they are academic. Plus they don't have the emotional, spiritual, and financial motives behind them that the alternative alien theories do.

But the academic/scholarly explanations of these things can be just as fun and interesting as the TV show ones, it just takes a bit more attention to detail and patience.

I first heard about this Dogon tribe issue from Graham Hancock I think. And like many of his theories it sounds pretty convincing/fascinating on the surface, but breaks down once you examine is research methods and rapid jumps to conclusions. There seems to be enough controversy surrounding the legitimacy of the Sirius link to suspend belief until more is known. Also, knowing what I know about Maya astronomy and how the same unfounded claims were made about them, a safe conclusion seems to be that there are very earthly (yet still interesting!) explanations for their knowledge. Something doesn't have to come from aliens for it to be interesting.

StatusQuo:

Humans thought the earth was flat and the sun revolved around it until the most recent 500 or less years.

You don't think its possible that in the expansiveness of the universe over the past 2 billion, that's 2,000,000,000 years... that life, intelligent life, sprung up somewhere else besides the planet Earth?

I bet you got all A+'s on your essays and you really think you've figured it out.

The bottom line with the Dogons is they relayed their traditions to the wider world in the 1930's but their assertion couldnt be proven until we had telescopes big enough in the 1970's and managed to photograph it. Not sure when we could work out its orbit but its certainly modern history.

They passed down their lore for many centuries. The headress they wore was purported to trace the orbit of the dead star around Sirius. Thats some fancy knowledge! I have super slow net speeds at mo or i would youtube that part and refresh my memory...

It either proves their were advanced civilisations thousands of years ago (and all the implications of an archeological cover-up) or their own story of aliens is true.

The Dogons also believe marijuana is a sacred plant and brought to them by the alien race. Which of course none of the mainstream want to touch and thus diluting the true story. Omision of the facts are always a bad sign in my experience. Conspiracy of silence.

What motive have they to lie or invent such a story? They have been proven right so far...

If you want to talk sources the only people i have seen actually visit and document the Dogons were the producers of Ancient Aliens.
