150w hps vertical?

Greetings!

Lets skip the introduction and cut right to the chase.

So I finaly have the time and money to realize my dream of culticating cannabis indoors, but in order to do so, I have to overcome limitations of my 1 room apartment. I intend to place my growbox i the closet which has a depth of about 70cm. I'm very keen on saving space and using it as efficiently as possible, so growing vertical seemed like a no-brainer.

I've been researching the subject and came to a conclusion that the greatest efficiency would be achieved by a square growbox with a cool-tubed bulb in the middle, surrounded by plants. If the box were to fit in my closet, it should measure about 65x65cm (just over 2 ft square).

So my question would be, is that enough space to fit 4 small plants (remember they have to be placed all around the bulb)? Could the plants touch the cool-tube?

Of course if you could suggest me some other design or if you have any relevant info or a piece of advice i'd greatly appreciate it.

Ditch the tube and look no further: 1st attempt at micro-bare bulb-vert with 150w hps and 4 plants in soil - By Unthing. In that area you're going rock it for sure!

Thanks a lot guys! I think I have everything worked out, all that's left is to order the materials and actually buid it

Despite all your comments about the cooltube, i am reluctant to ditch it. I know from experience how hot the bulb gets, and I would really need some sort of barrier to separate it from the plants. Also I have a lot of trouble finding a suitable fan that would be silent yet powerful enough to push air through a carbon scrubber and cool the box at the same time. I could order one online, but they are quite pricy and shipping costs to my location are insane. So I tought about cooling the bulb with 2 computer fans, and adding 16w centrifugal fan for exhaust (to generate enough pressure to push air through carbon scrubber). Its noise level is 33db, which is very silent imo and for a reasonable price (49 usd).

So, what do you think? My main concern is that 2 or more separate fans would add to each others vibrations or something?

i have the same im starting.. im trying the vert 150w hps in the flower room for the first.. I just got the 150w hps twards the end of my last grow so I caught the tail end of its potential, but this new grow in the new set up imma push it to the max.. nice grow bro.

hash, I've got a tube. Obviously, the tube won't burn plants as fast as the bulb but it'll still burn em.

I think a vert setup is wise. Wish I'd done it myself.

A tube could rob you of ~6 to 10% of your light. A cylinder screen made from chicken wire could serve the same purpose of burn control w/o light loss.

I doubt a 150 would cause temp problems in a closet. Temp checks will tell you if you need to tweak closet circulation.
