In Your Opinion, The Hardest to Clone Strain youve encountered??

Ive spent a lot of time taking cuttings. More so then i would like. LOL
and over time i got good at it playing with moms of Bubblegum, NL, Lionheart, Haze, Sour Diesel, BioLyte, Durban Poison and countless bag seed plants and herbs from the garden. but honestly, my krypotnite was the sour D and was she a bitch. thats why i got good at cloning becuase i got less then 10% success when the others were at 90% success.

in my experience it took at least three weeks to drop roots if it the diesel clone made it that long. others were cooking along dropping roots and happy and ready to go.


My experience with strains is rather limited to those listed. but to you growers out there i ask,

Whats the hardest to clone strain you have ever encountered?

DJ Short's Flo. My mom has extremely "woody" stalks and branches. I can get her to clone but there is usually a low success rate. IME Deep Chunk has also been a bitch.

SFV og kush for sure.....slow rooting, loopy viney branches...when you top her she doesnt react like other plants do....such a weird plant but the end result is soooo good..

yes the og kushes are a bitch to root, also the alien dog is the same, 3 to 4 weeks when everything else is rooting in 7 to 14 days

I hate cloning Blueberry. I can do others just fine, but BB? Forget about it! Abysmal success rate.

snowdog bx2 .i finally got it cloned but it died eventually....Have a sdxog plant thats og dominante and roots easier than most everything,as well as out yields most everything i have.

Now the easiest to root...Sweet tooth....a plant made by the gods.....

i hated cloning NL #5 when i grew it. took 3 weeks to drop roots. now on the other hand in optimal settings my Lavender will drop roots in under 7 days in a variety of mediums (rapid rooters, rockwool, aero).

4sd cut i love is not hard but she will take 14-21 days to drop roots, I have to use the bubble clonner to keep her alive but I usally get a 60-80% sucsess rate.

No matter what strain I use, it usually takes me 3 weeks to get nice roots - sometimes a little less, but never under 2. I know it's a long time, but my success rate is nearly 100%. I might have to change the way I clone in the future to speed things up.

The longest rooting clone I ever had was Blueberry, it took nearly 6 weeks, but all were successful.

Hands down its Blueberrry for me. 4 weeks in rockwool and 25 % success. Sucks to try to get enough for a good run.

SD IBL has been the worst for me ever tho...4 cuts out of 55 dropped roots.

Really? That is so strange. I have a Casey from seed circa 2007. It is by far the easiest to clone I have. Will always take a few days less than others and has extreme vigor.

I have an frosty as hell S1 of Red Diesel that is a ****. I've been getting about 50% success rate with her. Switched to a different powder this round so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Funny my Alien Dawg is my easiest to root strain. My ChemDD roots slowly but surely, like 0/12 after 3 weeks then in the 4th week they all root, when you've got em written off and they look crap.
