As some know, Nicoli was banned a couple days ago. I received messages yesterday from a couple members asking me if a mistake had taken place, and I told them I was busy with family but would look into it today.

Today I was notified that Nicoli has decided to use numerous troll handles to cause trouble since his ban. I read that last night he called me out saying I had read his messages and threatened him. I'd like to comment regarding this.

First of all, I didn't ban him but can assure you that whoever did had a legitimate reason. I would have looked into it today, as I had promised, but now after what he's done he can forget it. He's now showed me the type of person he is.

Secondly, neither myself nor any other mods or administrators have access to Private Messages. We are not able to. And we will never be able to. And for him to accuse me of this is an outright lie.

And lastly, our record of member safety speaks for itself. Since the start of this site, there has been to my knowlege one person arrested. And that was because they gave another member their home address and he was ratted out for things he did. That's why we stress constantly that members never give out their personal information.

Member safety is, and always has been our number one prioroty. And I hope members know this. If any mod or administrator were to do anything that threatened a members safety they would be permanently banned. As I said, our record stands for itself and we take great pride in that.

I'd like to apologize if his troll handles caused anyone any concerns....... Rest assured that your safety is, and always will be the first priority of this site.....

I'd ask that this thread not turn into a "why was he banned thread" as it's now irrelevant after what he's done.

I have expressed this privately to another moderator but it seems to me that a whole lot of people have been banned in the past month or so who were to all appearances upstanding members of the community. I know that there must have been some reason for their banning but it seems to me that maybe there has been a step-up in the enforcement or maybe less tolerance of things? I don't know what is going on but it kind makes it seem sort of scary around here like if you say something wrong or get heated in a discussion or not like someone and express that openly that you are just gonna get axed. I guess that I don't know what I expect from writing this, I just wanted to maybe say something that a lot of us are feeling. Feels like the gestapo is listening to us and we might log out and never be heard from again.

When someone gets banned, and immediately new handles start defending them in the second person, it's usually a good indicator.

Then, like this handle, you post on the walls of your friends after never having done so before...... Can you figure that out?
