Woke up this morning to check on the girls and found this.
the light had fallen down, and burnt 4 of the 6 plants, burnt a hole through the plywood floor, through the carpet and scortched the concrete under it.im so fukin gutted. Its just lucky the house didnt burn down with us in it.I had secured the lamp cable to a hook with duct tape but it must have come undone.

Gee, I can't imagine how this could have happened.

I'm sorry, I know it sucks, but good lord brotha...I'm from the south so duct tape and wd40 warriors abound....but it doesn't ACTUALLY work on everything like some would lead you to believe. ;)

scary....eeee...What size light was that from?

I had a similar scare a couple weeks ago, I smelled some burning plastic and investigated and found the plug into my ballast was sparking and melting the plastic around it.

Duct tape to hang a light :faint:

Your gf/wife/house mate should kick your ass :)

Seriously tho, glad nobody was hurt and next time use some screw in hooks and get a smoke alarm!!

HAHAHAHAHAHA WOW. you used duct tape to hold a light up? I don't even use the shit for attaching ducting to my hoods or anything. Attach a 2x4 to a stud in the ceiling with screws. And then attach your light hangers to an I hook or whatever they are called. Using duct tape for something that heavy and important is just silly. At least the plants were small, you only lost a couple weeks of time. You need to learn a little more about construction and maybe think things through and do them the right way. good luck

If i lived with you I would be so damn pissed.

And build a nice pvc grow tent. For like 50 dollars you can have a nice tent that will easily hold your light..... As long as you use proper building methods..

No doubt, step it up a knotch. The last pic looks like some sort of makeshift outhouse with the toilet paper roll rig.
