We're back. The girls in the Black cab have handled the flowering schedule change famously. The heat stress the PPP was going through isn't an issue anymore. Just took a little time for her to get acclimated. She is also the biggest and baddest of the group.
The plants love this 400watt.

Here a couple random shots for ya.

You can see we have a ways to go yet. Here is my ventilation monster. Yes it is a window fan. lol It creates a ton of airflow.

I'll put up some pics of the other cab later this afternoon.

Back with round 2 of my madness. Got a few more pics for ya this time. They are still stretching. My male has overgrown the cab. he looks more like ivy growing along the top of the cab.

Have a few new ones popping. In the next update you will see them in beer cups too.

I may start 10 more after the male is gone and the other little ones have been transplanted. If I have the room. hahaha
I am going to find a strong female out of that group and take a few clones from her. It's time I put that little 18x18 box to work.
My next project is to run a single clone under the 400 watt and veg it for a month and a half. I have only seen one other grow like this so I figured "What the Hell." Sounds like a fun project. It will make good data for the community as well. If I can reach and or exceed 6 ounces I will be pleased.

hey i would get those seedlings as close a possible if u can. i had great luck with keeping them like 2 inch off the top and they grew into bushy monsters quite quickly. gl man they look great. What are ur nutes for Flowering?

I'm going to move them. I was waiting for my other beans to pop so I could transplant them into beer cups. Then I will raise the shelf and have a uniform canopy. I use fox farms nutes (big bloom, tiger bloom), molasses and milk during flower. Tbls per gallon
The male is opening his flowers. I shook him and pollen went everywhere. Should be a good seed harvest. Cant wait till Christmas. lol Fresh buds under the tree

Back with another update. I transplanted the little guys. I also started four more beans. The house is officially crowded now. Here is the new lineup for you guys.

so are u trying to seed ur entire crop? if u dont want to and only get some seed get the male out and isolate him. then cut open the balls and let the pollen collect into a small tupper ware. then take a que tip and just pollinate the budsites u want not the whole plant. but thats just my 2 cents. keep up the good work. happy growing

The male is seeding my crop. I hope to get a few hundred seeds this time. I am running a sensi crop in my other cab. There are six girls in there.

once your done letting your males breed with you ladies make sure you really clean that box (bleach and water) because pollen sticks to everything. so us the seed report!!!

I am going to keep him in the cab for another week. Then I am going to take his head and put him in water to collect pollen for future use.
I hear ya on the cleaning. I will have to spray down all the little guys. Clean the fans and darkroom vents, wipe down the walls. Takes me about an hr. I have done 5 seed runs through this cab and that is the job I always dread doing. lol
I should get close to 500 beans this time. Plenty of future seed stock. Since I start 20-30 at a time I go through them quickly.
I am working on getting and keeping moms now. I will be topping and training all the little guys to find a couple to put in the mother box I buillt. Then I will put a single plant in the balck box and run a sea of green of like 20 plants in one gallon gro-bags in the biege cab. After I come back from Cali in April we will run another breeding project.

Here we are. The middle of our journey to harvest. Big changes are happening. The girls in the black cab are looking fantastic. The plants in the biege cab look about a week ahead now. Someone will have to explain that to me. My guess is because of 36 hr. dark period they got. I'm going to break it up into two posts. I wanted to post more photos but photobucket is becoming a pain in the ass. We will start with the biege cab...

wow this looks great. and remind me are using all CFL's? if so very impressive. if not its still very impressive. hope all goes well with the rest of the grow and breeding. i did one batch of breading and it was fun. i cant wait to grow out my own custom strains. again great looking stuff.

I have two cabs running right now. One is a mixture of 2700k and 6500k bulbs. 13 in all for a total of 299 watts. The plants in the white containers are under a 400 watt hps.
Breeding is alot of fun. I have been doing it the last 5 yrs.

Got a few fresh pics to show ya. Only the beige cab tonight. Had some furniture delivered so know time today. The kids are looking great. All of the little ones are streching but they are healthy. I gave them the first feeding today. Just a little maxicrop.

Were back. Got a big pic update of the girls in the black cab. Everything is going well with the exception of the ppp. I have been trying to dial her in with moderate success. A majority of the bottom leaves have been removed. During the flush they yellowed out immediately. That speaks to the amount of nutrients it requires. lol
We'll start with the Blue Rhino x Citrus Skunk...

I like the leaf structure on these.

These will take the longest to flower. I am hoping to harvest before feb. lol

Ok. Good news bad news. I culled 4 plants today. All males. The good news is that I have 3 confirmed females...

My only purple haze. I will have to start some more i guess.
New mom. Not sure if we will have the godbud also. I will flower a couple and see if I want to keep it. If not I will toss it under the 400 and replace it with something else.

I took one of the Hashplant Ultimate Afghani and put it in a square container and put it in the black box. It should be done around the same time as the blue rhino's. The other hash and the godbud went into my mother container.

I have them under 24 hrs a light with 23w while they switch back to veg. I will be topping and training the shit out of them. I have room for 3 moms and about 20 clones in that little 18x18 cab and am anxious to get started. If one of my nycd x c99 is a female she is definitely going to be a mom. Love that strain. Spicy as hell.
Once this gets into full swing I am going to change up the beige cab. I have a 150 that I used in it before. I want to put it in there along with another 150 hps. I will build a couple mounts and reflectors for them and take step-by-step pics for ya.. The cfl's were fun but manuvering the plants around them is a huge pain in the ass. The funny thing is that it is only a one watt change (299watts now); but a huge increase in lumens. The 3 cabs together will only run 746 watts.
I am finally able to get a continuous harvest going. Not sure how I want to go about it. A harvest every 2 weeks would be nice, even if it was only 20-25 grams.
So yeah, it is getting to get interesting. We still have the carbon filter to show ya in a couple days and another update right after that so stay tuned to the oldtrees' grow show. lol

can you explain to me what a sensi/seed run is?

I have two different cabs going right now. My beige cab has females that were sprayed with pollen. When I harvest them I will get a lot of seeds. That is what I call a seed run or a breeding run. My black cab is running unpollinated females. Seedless buds are considered sensimillia (sp) or sensi. By running 2 cabs I am able to have fresh seed and buds. (seed/sensi run)
