Hey Icmagers,

My plants, all sizes, are frequently droop like this, especially at the end of the day. And I don't know why. Is this even a problem, normal? What causes this?

Background info:

Strain: Barry's Berries (Grape Ape X Big Bud X Blue Venom)
Medium: Sunshine #4 soillless mix. (on the dry side)
Nutrient line; House and Garden.
Light: 1000 watt mh light
Temps: 60 night- 75 day.
Humidity: 30-50%
co2: some, but not as pictured
4 weeks in veg (though they all do it in various stages)

How much c02 are you using? How long are you letting the plants musk before venting c02 out?

Really its not co2 related. The effect occurs in both my veg and flowering room. The flower room has supplimental co2, while the veg room does not. emm...:joint:

I had this issue when my plants were vegging. Sometimes at the end of the day the plants would droop to the extreme just like in your picture. However, when the lights would turn back on, they would be fine.

This happened about 12 days at random. Now in flower, it no longer happens. I'm clueless still.

Bump.

Just my take, but seems that it has to do w a nute uptake issue... along the lines of a rising EC level w/in the medium and/or a fluctuating pH.

Temps are good, so not a heat issue. Not far from being real healthy... the curling & ridging are the only apparent issues + some minor tip twist at the new shoots (usually a micro sign)...?

Seen these issue w I had medium/uptake problems... ph and/or ec... think this happened around the time my coir dried up (my bad), so was correcting pH upward & EC downward for a week or so... was a while ago....?

Check the run-off pH & EC... will tell you a lot when you compare it to the initial measurements. Hope this helps. Peace

My plants droop before lights off when in veg, they know its time for bed and to settle down. Ever watch a time lapse of weed growing? If not watch one on youtube, they go up down up down up down...

Your droop does look a little extreme, but it may just be them getting ready for bed.

totally normal,...my current grape ape went through a REALLY droopy posture for a couple of days when I flipped from 24/0 to 12/12, and I freaked when I first saw it, but the leaves were turgid, and the plants had spring and were stiff, so I just did nothing, and next morning they were all pointing upwards, and everything was fine,................and then there was cake.

totally normal for the plants leaves to point upwards in the morning hours, and droop at the end of the day/night.

the cake is a lie

So have you figured out how to perk your plants up? I've got the same problem but my droop is all the time. The same reddish coloured leaf branches, bending downwards. I have alright growth, it just seems like it's all being covered up by the droopy leaves, blocking the light from the shrubby growth. It's a little more droopy than in the picture, I lifted up some branches to show:

I'm not too sure that a constant droop like that is the same issue. I'd be suspecting them being too wet or over-fed but I'm no pro...

Help!
Some of my plants in veg are drooping hard, right before the lights go out.
All during lights on, they look fine.. but a couple hours before lights out they look super over watered, all of a sudden.
Just like these 2 guys describe..

Yours looks like over fertilization mate as per the deep veins and the bull horn leaves, try flushing with plain water and feeding at a lower ratio :)

Yeh, his is definitely a different thing. Prolly Over watering/overfeeding, like u said.
Mine are just drooping at the end of the "day".
They look perky for the first 16 hours. Then the last 2 hours they droop hard.
Some more than others.
Then, when the lights come back on, they look fine again.
Any clue what this is?

Still at large...
My Hawaiian does the same thing and thats why i stumbled a crossed this thread my girl is some what fine all day then a couple hrs before bed it droops, most of the growth is fine in color. Ive been chasing this issue for weeks, and now have a secondary thought "is it just gens?"

Some strains i run droop the leaves temporarily BEFORE lights off.Next time i come in at lights on they are reaching for the lights.

It seems like overwatering, except when plants are overwatered they droop all day. Not just for the last 2 hours of the day.
And im pretty sure I havent been overwatering.
So im kinda stumped.
Its happenening on more than 1 strain for me.
:dunno:

Hey pappy, I know this thread is old and all but if you are still around, did you ever figure out what was going on with your leaves? I'm having the same problem currently a week into 12/12..... Cannot confirm if its just the last two hours before lights out yet or not as I just noticed it pretty much right before lights out last night.

When lights come on today, I will observe the situation, i'm almost 95% sure it is not over/under watering... Gonna get out the scope as well tonight and check for broads just in case, God, I hope not.......

Mine always droop at or before lights out when they are in full veg through preflower stretch
And after watering

I like hearing that Kornwood.... Yup mine droop down and touch their toes right after a good deep watering but within an hour or two they are standing back up praising the lumens!

I'm really anxious to check them as soon as 'light's on. I notice in general that during flower the leaves aren't as perky as they are in veg anyways.

Sometimes with some strains this happens to mess well in veg; about 1-2 hours before lights out they droop, then perk up when the light comes back on. I think some strains and/or phenotypes are more sensitive to transferring food and energy. And by the end of the day their just exhausted and need to start chilling. That's my take anyway.
But I wouldn't worry a bit bro.
