This thread is starting 2 touch on nerves i see ..Theres a show on tlc about hoarding ..Those people need help..They wont stop collecting shit..And when its time 2 get rid of the junk they cry and bitch..and its just junk...Now imagine ur holding ur real deal cut ..uve been collecting over the yrs..Thats something u dont wanna let go its jus like all that junk people hold on to..ur attached 2 it ..I dont think cuts are hoarded on purpose its jus in the human nature 2 hoard something that holds value 2 YOU..Its like finding a $20..some people might spend it all at one time on/with whoever ..Some people might spend a dollar a day or put the money in a savings bc they wanna hold on to it...2 me if u dont feel like ur gonna recieve equal or greater value for ur cut or "baby" why should u part with her?

If the cut is hoarded then it most likely isn't a strain that has been out there medically to the masses. Let us not forget the tons of people smoking recreational with their med cards. Also don't forget that while each strain has its own effect... there are just so damn many that you are guaranteed to find something else with similar/same effects. There's only thousands of strains out there to find and thousands more to be made.

If you create or acquire a strain then by all means it is YOURS just like ANYTHING in this world that you create/work for... just because it's pot doesn't automatically mean you need to be an overly generous person. If I don't want to spread my cuts around I won't, but I do because really I don't care personally. Everyone has their reasons and it isn't all about $. But since we are talking about making $ why don't you re-think what it takes to create these crosses space time and dollars and cents wise. And let us not forget the RISK most of us take in this hobby, this is where this market gets their prices.

ummm back when i was a youngin we didnt know shit about cuts or hoarding we bred from the bag so by the time you were exposed to proper sensi (indoor kind buds), seed stock and the errant exotic bagseed the mother fucking game was on, you didnt need no fucking handouts

i think "hoarding" is a relative term

to many relative factors for a 'blanket' judgement to be honest

i see it being very similar to open source and proprietary technology

im an open source kinda guy, imho the synergies you create outweigh any loss competitive edge

plus anyone who has put enough time into growing and breeding out what they like knows the next elite is waiting to be found in a bag of proper beans, you just have to put in some leg work and know what the fuck your doing

Ive given away thousands of seeds. Ive sold about 5-7K worth of seeds over 10 years. Out of that money most of the funds were used to acquire new seeds or for friends legal defense/bills. Not quite the money making seed slinger.....

Ive handed out hundreds of clones (Ive never accepted money for a clone, EVER).

Ive owned/operated/grew for my own dispensary in which I gave away over 10 oz's a month to patients who could not afford meds.

I fought and beat cancer with the help of cannabis.

In my view, Ive put in more work, sweat and devotion than any man should ever put into anything other than family , so Im allowed to be a dick and have a few special things to myself.

Just my view though.

Many people today really like fruity or spicy mostly indica dominant cultivars, and that's perfectly okay. But how about a tasty but ancient (obsolete?) equatorial sativa cultivar like Panama Red?

That strain predated the modern age of sinsemilla, so there were some genetics available out there at one time. Lost forever? I hope not ...

This is as close as I've got. Senor Garcia (Panama Red X OPT). Out of 10 seeds, she was the only she. We'll see how she stands up to the other strains on this thread. Clones taken for the long haul. Heavy Berry, chocolate aromas over skunk and hash. Huge bracts and very nice resin output. She won't be any prize yielder at this size, but this is some of the most exotic smelling smoke I've grown in 20 years. First time out, I'll let you know how she smokes next year.

All the horded cuts are just great phenos that someone found in a seed. There are lots of strains that I have grown and found keepers that would hold up to any horded cut.

Yeah bro I've seen some solid stuff lost when 1 peep was the only holder. Have a breeder friend who's lost more unique cuts he found to LEO than anything/anyone else. I mean the X factor is always lurking and just one 'catastrophe' away from losing something.

there is nothing wrong with a family heir loom, but my point still remains. eventually your family could die out, not all blood lines continue. do you see my point? I would like for your family of growers to continue forever, but it doesnt always happen like that
