ok guys i was wondering what products do people use for roots in a rdwc??

Great white micor?
h&G root stim?
my root stimulator is organic (greenfuse root stimulator) and im wondering if i should stay away from this in the rdwc...? and if so what should i use in its place... i heard the h&g is not very effective in highly oxygenated systems...

anyone heard of hydro-fungicide?

I use to use aquashield and it was always good. Then I tried higrozyme and got the slime rot. Since that I said fuck it and I run zone sterile 100%. I dont wanna chance any shit growing in there. Nuke it all.

I get roots like this with zone
In veg

Harvest

I believe its the safest way to run rdwc nice and clean
Hope this helps

BigGreen: Is "zone sterile 100%" a product you can buy?
Yep it's called bleach 100% sterile root zone for pennies a run....The product BG is talking about is "Zone" it is has chloramine as it's active ingredient. google it.

look into aqua flakes from H&G. I use the stuff and honestly never change out the water during the whole grow and just add to it. It's designed specially for recirculating systems.

Hydrofungicide/hydrosparkle is expensive but from everything I've read on these boards and the farm it seems to work. It would be a good thing to have on hand if your roots go south, but read up on the Krunch's posts/link in your last thread, 1-2 ml per gallon of bleach seems to be way to go to run sterile. I wouldn't even bother with benies unless your really planning on putting in the work to cultivate them and keep them alive. Otherwise I would change your res weekly and use bleach. Thats what I'm doing now with good results in stand alone dwc buckets, but am about to go recirculating and plan on doing the same.

so does bleach take place of physan 20???? I MAY have some sort of cooties in the system and want to make sure its gone... tomorrow i was going to physan 20 this system for 4-5 hours and and flush it out and start new with new water and all this...

however im gonna buy 59 gal of water cause my new ro system is not in yet... if i can just run bleach to get rid of any cooties and keep a sterile rez then this is the way ill go instead of physan....

PoopyTeaBags: I reserve the use of PHysan 20 for when I have major problems like algae bloom. What type of issue are you trying to solve right now?

To answer your initial post. Large amounts of oxygen and cool temps (around 68F) are all you really need.

However, if you want to use something, I'm with BigGreen on this one, use DM Zone. In the past, I have used hydroguard (Aquashield now) with great success, an excellent product. Not to be confused with hygrozyme which is no good in dwc IME.

i im trying to help a buddy run a system but he knows nothing so i decided instead of the bennie route wed go the dead rez route and keep the whole system sterile... i have chillers on the system and plenty of air but the guy taking care of it over watered the rockwool anbd we had bucket level problem so some of the plants ended of with rot and now im afraid its in the system i just want to steralize this shit without dumping the whole system and keep a sterile system from here on out...

i was told bleach would do it....

Did you have any issues with H2O2 bubbling or frothing up? I read a post from another user here who said to use bleach because of a foaming problem with H2O2. Thanks.

its split on h202 and roots... alot of people say yes but alot say never no way... i do have h202 but chose not to use that as a sterilizer... zone is just ro water and chloramine... bujt bleach is so cheap id rather go with that....

The only thing about "bleach" I don't like is it diminishes in a day or so but chloramine last so much longer.
