What do cannabis dispensaries/collectives really want????

dr dank my question for you is how the hell were you pullin that much a month. i would like to hear your methods and practices. thankx.

I was gonna say, if it isn't OG Kush your rolling the dice. If it isn't OG they will:

Tell you to go away
Ask if they can hand pick only the biggest nugs (and offer you very low prices for even that)
tell you your weed is crap (even if it's better than EVERYTHING they have in the store.)
Offer to sell it on consignment. Maybe you will get paid for it. Someday.

Fuck dispensaries, they buy dirt cheap outdoor from mexico or Norcal and try to pass it off as top quality hydro. most of US know better, but they don't give us any respect.

I'd love to find a dispensary that would "recognize" but most of them are run by clowns just looking to fuck you over for a buck. Not me man, they don't deserve the high quality meds I grow.

Pretty much sums it up. I've seen mediocre outdoor weed being sold as $60-an-eighth indoor. They want to make a profit. Buy low, sell high. I've seen my own product re-labeled and sold as some random "OG". Branding is everything in SoCal.

buy low, keep the good stuff, dump the rest on patients at top shelf prices

find your own patients and give it to them for the price the "d"s pay out

Ok if your in California.... and lets say something happened to you and somehow you can't grow your meds any longer..... What would be the one strain you would dream of getting having if you could buy it at at a shop for a reasonable price??
What strain grown to perfecting makes you feel the best you ever felt?

I got some Clones Taihoe OG, jedi OG, Northern Lights #5, Pre bubba 98 :)

Hello hope this helps.

Hello hope this helps.

I was Harvesting 14k lights a month or so.. sometimes took a bit longer depending on strain...
I had two separate rooms with 14 1k lights each turned on at opposite times 1 room was on at 8am and off by 8pm room 2 on at 8pm to be turned off by 8am
sealed rooms with a water cooled ac on each that was cooled by the Pool in the backyard.
Each room had a monitor and its own ac unit i could set it to what ever temp i wanted perfect, humidity was 40% when buds had volume.
CO2 of coarse
4 plants per 1k sometimes less... depending on the size
and a big veggie room with 5+ moving 1k lights and 5 400w hps for the moms.... over 50 moms and 500+ plants some getting vegged till bushy trees lolipoped and de-leafing done before and during flowering.
running 2 120 sites ez cloners with a water chiller kepts at 72
and used 3 part General Hydroponics with other additives.
:artist:
California is beautiful and i haven't seen a thing yet.

I don't get it why dispensaries don't try harder to keep growers happy and hardworking. It is not fair compensation to lowball people and drive the prices down to sub-3s in some cases for indoor, then turn around and sell that same shit for 60-70 an eighth or 400 an oz. That is total bullshit, the only greed I see in the scene now is on the part of dispensaries.

There was a guy from home that was supposed to be a hot-shit master grower that came out here to Cali, got all his genetics from the dispensary, grew out some decent looking bud and they wouldn't even really look at it. Crazy.

If I sold apples to people and I had 20 people a day coming up to me, trying to sell me apples. I would only take the best apples and I would take the best apples at the lowest price (well I wouldn't, but they do). Understand?

My suggestion is to either grow OG kush or grow entirely to much of something else to get the same price. Do not do consignment... trust me

I personally deal with a broker now, so I have no headaches of dealing with ignorant people.

OGs will sell easily and for more if they are grown well. You have to jump through hoops and lowball offers with other shit but remember there are still TONS of clubs in socal. Making a connection and selling your product is really the name of the game to be honest. I have been asked for AK-47 quite a few times (why? I don't know) and that's a good production plant, a bit bland IMO so I tossed my cut of it, maybe i'll try that cherry pheno from progressive options one day who knows.

Keep this in mind though, if you have an 8 week strain going for 3500/# and it weighs in equal to or much more than OGs at 10 weeks with 4-4500/# losing out on that weight AND 2 extra harvests per year (which depending on scale can be 2#s or 100#s), how much is it really worth to grow the OG? I am no math wizard... Just something to throw around the ol noggin'. If you have good shit, they will ALWAYS buy it for SOMETHING no matter the strain. Oh.. and trim Very well. :) Mr Celsius has a good analogy IMO, just wish finding a good broker with a good deal was easy.

They want some herb that Looks outstanding, Smells outstanding, and has outstanding bag appeal; That they can rename as soon as you walk out the door..
I have been growing/developing cannabis for a very long time.. I have a friend who worked in a local Medical co-op. We would always share buds.. He would come over everyday with different buds to burn and compare against mine. Not one time did he bring a bud that compared with mine (full circle). Not more potent, not as smelly, not as many trichs, etc.. I was confused, cause he was bringing this from a well known Sacramento Co-op. So after about a year, i told him if they needed more at the co-op to give me a call.. He does, so i set up a meeting with the manager not telling him that I have a friend that works on his staff (who didnt tell him who i was). I brought in a 1/2lb of my finest. a 1/4 of Blockhead x sweet tooth #3, and 1/4 of rez ibl x SPG/blueberry. This cannabis was grown in a sealed clean room without any poisons, or growth stimulants. I try and produce a pure solid product that would pass the USDA and/or FDA guidelines to the best of my knowledge.
Now walking into the co-op, i kinda knew what to expect from a meeting like this.. I worked as a buyer for the largest natural foods suppliers in the world. Upon sitting down with the Manager of the co-op. I showed him my product, and i noticed him scoff at it, like it was sub-standard. He asked me what kind it was. I told him the names of it, he immediately said "no their not". lol.. I looked at him and told him "yes they are". Then he goes on to tell me its California Orange.!. After 4 minutes. i packed up my product and shook his hand and told him to have a nice day. That was the fist and last time i have been to that "Medical Co-op".. I went down the street about a week later, and got the same type of response as the first one. So i quit even trying.. Their loss really... I have 20 year old plants that are one of a kind.. /shrug..
What a joke... I would say 80+% of the Co-ops out there are just run by hustling jerks.. They wanted to give me 2200 for a P of top notch one of a kind herb... Pffft.. I sent that clone mother up North to Washington.. Those Med co-ops are paying 3800 a P all day long, Tons of it, Tons.
I am not sure why you can get 3000-4000 in South Cali, and in Washington is the same price too, But here in Northern Cali its dirt cheap 2000-2800.. oh well.. at least there is a good selection of genetics to pick from (if that is what it really says it is on the clone tag)..
I dont know a good stain to go with to sell to med clubs.. in my opinion the kush has had its run.. everyone and their granny have smoked, crossed, breed, and re-smoked it.. I would go into the Med club your intending to sell to and look on their boards and pick something that is top shelf, then try to grow it better than what you seen it as.. That should give you some bargaining power in your favor.. Other than that, its hard to read these businesses.. they are being flooded with product everyday, and by the end of the day grade A+++ bud starts to look the same as grade A. So its no wonder they are so off the wall with their offers..

Cali is a whole new ball game bro. Out here people want top quality. There are only a few places that are willing to give good money for it.

OGs are hot right now. Grow out the Tahoe and dial it in. Shop around first. See what places have the best bud and which have the highest traffic. Look up reviews on dispensaries on weedmaps and weedtracker and see what people are saying about them.

The problem with growing top shelf bud is a lot of it doesn't yield a lot and you have to spend extra time vegging them to yield what lower shelf strains yield. So its not economical to grow it out for the money. If you want to grow a hefty yielder that gets 3k to 3500 a lb and will sell, grow blue dream haze. Now the only problem with that is EVERYONE grows it. You gotta find your niche in the market here and its not just grow whatever and it sells like everywhere else. This pond has a lot of big fish in it. :joint:

Been growing it before it became popular... mine is pretty much the best I've seen in a long time... with that said, 3k-3200 (32 if I'm lucky).

Grow something well if its often grown or grow something that isn't often grown = making it in the weed industry of Cali.

Ok Guys Things are looking good over here at the farm and getting ready to start cracking up some power in this bitch ;) hehe
I will be growing a lot of different types of kushes to satisfy the patients and as I go along will bring my own genetics into the table hoping they like it.
Wish me luck in this new turf!

Prices for indoor weed are gonna go up, just wait and see. The flood isn't affecting indoor prices anywhere near as much as last year, and with Prop19 defeated and medical dispensaries being closed and threatened by the dozen, indoor prices will continue to climb.

I know some guys that are trying to lowball indoors, but they're not getting half the bites they used to. Me and most of the bigger indoor growers I know (throughout Norcal) have said NO to dropping our prices this year during the flood, making less indoor available.

We will stockpile and cure it longer, and sell it for what it's worth when the flood ends next month. If you want cheap weed buy outdoor, and buy it quick cuz it's disappearing fast!
