Thanks all

Thanks all

Thanks for all the input. Will forgo the plant idea... Have been talking with other folks too - a friend uses ducting stuffed with 2 feet of maxi pads, plus pantyhose with charcoal. Does this sound like a viable odor reducer?

I appreciate all the expressions of concern for my safety as well. Although I am doing it in compliance with state law, I don't need everyone around knowing my bidness. Folks get ideas, ya know?

P.S. If I had $150 I would of course immediately go buy a real carbon filter, but unless I resort to pawning possessions that won't be an option for a couple weeks. The door is completely sealed as well, with lots 'o duct tape and a draft guard, but I have to keep opening and closing the darn thing to go in and out ;-)

if your seriously thinking about growing without odour control will be very shortlived experiance before you get hassle
just d.i.y a carbon filter if not just buy fan/filter aint that much for a 4"

if your determined to not buy a filter despite advice of every grower going (quite strong argument)
then your gunna have to buy a shitload of pot purri and cans of air freshener which is just wasting the money could of spend on a good filtration setup

A solid homemade scrubber that will work for a few weeks at a time can be made for well under $50...a small prefab scrubber from somewhere like HTG or BGH can be had for ~$100...no offense, but if ya can't afford something like that, you might want to reconsider growing until you can

Ive got a carbon filter that helps very much but Iv had a hunch that getting some house plants would help with the smell of fresh plant matter that oozes though the house occasionally. Ive tried rosemary before but am wondering if there is any other plant that does a good job that can be found at your local nursery?

++ I must add ona gel works great, but does not last forever

So you have no fresh air getting into the room either? That's just not good for your plants!

I have to concur with the other posters - get yourself sorted with a filter soon as.

Seriously,
I had to have the cops come into my house to investigate a robbery a few days ago. Even though a carbon filter was in place I was extremely nervous, I had the wife cook up some eggs, bacon and coffee. It's all you could smell.

MAXI PADS!? is it that time of the month for the duct? use those laundry sheet things. they actually smell good. I dont know what a maxi pad smells like tho! LOL

If you can blow a fat rip through a toilet paper tube with one of those softener sheets rubber banded on the end and all it smells like is the softener, then i would completely forgo the female feminine products and use those things. Basically all ur doing is making a large one of those little tubes the secret stoners use...

cos dude. pads? it just sounds like a fuckin stupidddd idea and would you really wana find yourself buying a shitload of boxes of maxis?

keep in mind its gona take alot of effort to blow or suck through a duct clogged with pads or sheets of softener. the softener seems more breathable lol.

you can find a used duct/filter for fuckkkkin cheapppp btw no need for a new one. whats a few hundred dollars anyway when your crop could be a few thousand in prospect if you do it correctly... but to do that you need proper equipment. peace.

You just cooked fish in your kitchen ... now it smells like fish. So you spray rose scented air freshener .... now it smells like fish and roses.

get a quality carbon scrubber. phresh filters are light and work well in tents.
