Anyone else ecstatic that the government won't be involved in marijuana? From this vote forward, the government of California will have no part in the marijuana industry and will not be able to control it in any way.

Also I really hate taxes. So it's great that marijuana won't be taxed. And thank god it wasn't legalized otherwise the ecomony would be ruinned.

Exactly. It's not really legal unless it's tax free. It was a wicked attempt to pull the sheep over our eyes but it didn't work.

Maybe someone can help me on this one. I'm totally confused about the whole tax thing. If it's legal to the point you can grow, what are you paying taxes on???? Why would anyone need to sell OR buy?? Is a 25 sf area not enough to grow weed for yourself? Maybe it's just me, but if I had that area to grow in...legally...I would have no problems covering myself.

I'm not trying to be a smart ass, apparently I'm just really ignorant to this. I never really wanted to get into the whole Prop19 discussion, but these questions have really been gnawing at me. I mean, growing isn't rocket science. I haven't been growing that long, and while my first harvest was pretty good, they just keep getting better. Ya I ran into a couple snags my first time, but nothing a little homework didn't fix.

So my question, or thought at least....if 19 did pass, and everyone who wanted cannabis could grow it, what's the big deal?

Oh,,,and another thought. Does anyone really think that when it does become legal that the govt. isn't going to have a hand in it??? Of course they are. ANYTHING sold in this country the govt. has their hands in, ESPECIALLY recreational substances: Alcohol, cigarettes, etc... But it is legal to make alcohol at home, and grow tobacco. So again, if one was really avoiding paying a sales tax, couldn't one just grow their own and avoid the whole thing?

Edit: I'm not saying I'm pro or no. I never read the bill entirely so I haven't made an informed decision.

taxing it would be a good thing, 50 bucks a zip is cool with me, the prices per zip where i come from are a lot higher plus with the mass production of it, the price would drop over time. can you imagine half off sales at walmart of sssdh x g13

Some of you are clueless. There was no tax for personal grows. The tax was for buying it at any retailers and taxes for commercial growers. You would have to be a moron to think cannabis will never be legalized. 2012 Is going to be a big year since it failed this time. I think if the right bill is writen most if not all of us will cometogether on this except for the few that should not even be members here.

WHAT'S THE BIG DEAL? ARE YOU INSANE? The government is going to ruin our sacred plant. They will let the FDA take over and then they will ruin the potency. And all higher potency marijuana will be OUTLAWED! Marijuana should not be outlawed!

Also let's forget the fact that it will be tax free and legal to grow in a 5x5 area. 5x5 is not enough. It should all be totally legal or should all be illegal.
