Yes, but I'm not sure the ins and outs, I do know that their website sells a crf and that's what they recommend. and I think it does get mixed into the soil - those ferts usually work through osmosis so water doesn't actually have to be flowing over them. I am going to try some at some point, maybe just one plant with osmocote and a blumat jr so it can be "off the grid" and not getting fed with the rest, theres a lot of folks experimenting with the new osmocote plus (with micros) but none with the blumats, it'd be great for mothers that's for sure.

I have been wondering if anyone has used the Blumats with constant release fertilizers (crf’s). I have been reading on another site about people having excellent results with crf’s, and have been pretty intrigued because my “just add water” soil-less mix has been running out of steam a few weeks into flowering. This leaves me not knowing which nutrients are still in adequate supply and which have been depleted, making it difficult to supplement in mid-grow. CRF’s have worked well on my roses and tomato’s, so I am tempted to try them on cannabis. However, the crf prills appear to need enough water flow to wash the nutrients off of the prill surface and into the media. The only way that I can see to do this is to make a localized pocket to hold the prills, and then direct the water from the Blumat drip line directly over the top of the cache (maybe with two Blumats opposite one another to get a nutrient “plume” down each side of the pot). Anyone have experience or suggestions with this?

Its a fresh start.... The stuff on the left that is flowering was brought in from the outside, and was in a very shaded area flowering.

The stuff on the right are 10 SSH seedlings that were put into the flower cab with around a week of vegetation. They have only been flowering 3 days in the picture.

So its half ass for now until I get my mothers selected, and producing clones for my actual grow.

Here is a picture of a C99 mother I had, and I no longer do. I actually got rid of my Fed's ISS, some Sourbubble bx3, and my C99 mommas due to security reasons before I got to finish a flower cycle.

Oh this will be such a relief for you I promise I handle 24 1,5l bottles max in my micro flowering and vegging areas, without blumats absolutely impossible / way too much work I put blumats to my plants shortly after germination and they stay there the whole lifecycle:



I use them for some time now in different grow cabs and I learned in here that they're good for coco and bigger setups too. I was wondering if the blumat manufacturers are aware of their popularity amongst growers

Question, which I have a vague recollection may have already been asked some posts back: How high do you crank up your Blumats?

I use LC's with dry ferts in the soil (see the Organics for beginners thread) and feed plain water. In veg, I used to feed them a little lighter, and in flower, not quite swamped. But I've switched that up, and now I turn them up to juuuuust shy of runoff (i.e. as close as possible to runoff, without runoff). My thinking is that this is a living soil, and if it is allowed to dry out, it dies, and roots won't go there. My first run with them seemed to support that theory, as the rootball was much smaller than I expected to see from other smartpot threads.

Sure enough, on the second run, when I kept the pots saturated at all times, the rootball was much more robust.

Third run is on, Girls have been in flower for a few days and after a little adjusting, the Blumats are dialed in, the pots are heavy (I really only use weight to gauge, I've found it is quick and accurate), and the girls show no signs of stress or overwatering.

Thoughts?

They work WONDERFULLY!

No more handwatering and pots for me...strictly beds and Blumats.

I use one blumat every 6-12 inches in my beds, depending on how closely packed my plants are.

Postage was pretty fast to UK - prices as I recall worked out very similar

If you are determined to buy in the UK though Two Wests is decent supplier too, didn't buy blumats there but have ordered from there before.

I would tell you to make a little bag out of cheesecloth or pantyhose, put a tablespoon or so of pellets into it, and put it under the blumat dripper end. That way you can remove it when/if needed. I've done a similar trick with rabbit droppings (also a great time release fert) but sans the bag, since you can't overfeed with organics really.

Sorry if this has been asked already, but I am thinking about making the switch to blumat and coco. I was doing some searching and found that they sell what they call the "Tropf Blumat Outdoor Sensor case of 50", now I am looking to get a bunch of these, is this what I would need or is there another 50 or 100 pack that I should pick up? (I am going to being using 3 gal pots) Also what else would I need besides the 50-100 sensors? And I saw a few links to online places that sell blumat supplies, but does anyone have an updated link that would have cheap prices for the big packs. Appreciate all the info, this thread ROCKS!

I would tell you to make a little bag out of cheesecloth or pantyhose, put a tablespoon or so of pellets into it, and put it under the blumat dripper end. That way you can remove it when/if needed. I've done a similar trick with rabbit droppings (also a great time release fert) but sans the bag, since you can't overfeed with organics really.

That's a great idea, especially if you're doing sog strait from clones. Just keeps getting better! I've finally got my little dual rez system set up and will have to take some pics - it's such simple elegance (for a non diy'er like me) I've got a little pond pump moving water from a trash can to a 5 gal bucket, the bucket has two overflow tubes at the 4 gal point going back to the res. It works out so that the pump cannot fill faster than the overflow can drain so I can circulate constantly if I wanted but I don't. I'm stoked but not as stoked as if all I had to do was fill it with straight water! I guess there's always a trade off - at least I don't have to mix any dirt, just straight coco, no perlite etc and the plants are the best looking I've ever had. Nutes are the pro series hydroponics formula from Peters labs = cheap and easy. I am doing a couple 1 gal root pouches with straight pr mix, 1 tbs of osmocote and blumat jr's with straight water. that should be interesting.

Lazy, quick question, where can I order quality 1/2" inline shutoff valves? I got 7 ngs or whatever it is and all of them leak from the valve barrel.

I think I recall reading that above 3 gallons, you should go to 2 blumats. I know that my last run was with 3 gallon smart pots using a single blumat, and it worked fine.

I'd say one is enough too, maybe use two drippers if you want for the 13.5. I've got two in 5 gals and honestly feel like one is being wasted but i'd still want to have two drippers.
