I cant believe my eyes. Other humans asking other humans to vote yes. "do the right thing and vote yes....even if you think the bill sucks". hahaha, WTF! You all know that there is another Year of existence here on earth or more even.. lets use that time to construct a new and better bill.. How about a Bill with NO Felonies in it.. JFC! how hard is it to explain to you fiends that this bill sucks for 99% of the humans it will effect.. the only people this bill will benefit are the ones who manage to lock down the business grow licensing.. which someone already has 3 of the 4 in Oakland (Richard Lee). How is that right? people who want to smoke it, already DO! no one is stopping them now, so.....?
You all that are voting yes must think that this is the last year to get cannabis legal.. hahah. your killing me with ignorance, seriously.
Honestly, by the look on the threads floating around the community about prop 19, everyone is acting like fiends out for a fix.. You dont care where or how your fix will come to you. even if you have to suck off the local dealer to get that fix.. I feel like you have lost your moral compass to do the right thing for "everyone" in this boat of legal compromise. I feel you "Yes" people are just voting yes for the quick fix of the legalize cannabis high.. What happens when this "high" wears off?.. You will find more humans in jail and forced rehabilitation (christian rehab centers). You might feel all high and mighty by getting a bill passed that is close to your own hobby or interest, but think it through for fuck sake.. your high and mighty feeling will pass once you or someone you know is arrested under the new law YOU help pass.. You will be just as bad and wrong as the Police officer, Court, Lawyer, Bailiff, and Correction facility that now put a Honest Human in a jail cell.. That is not right for another human to do to another human.. But then again, we do live in a world of Pay to Kill. And scrubbing that Mental state out of existence will be harder and harder to do, the longer we subject ourselves to self inflicted detrimental laws. I wonder to myself sometimes, if this is some sort of religious mental flogging that is built into the American psyche. Amazing..
As of now, about a week to go until the voting takes place, the vote stands at No=52% and Yes=46%. For the sake of all the Californians lets hope that this bill doesnt pass (yet). We the people of California need a new and better bill, without criminal prosecution for smoking it. Dont get me wrong, there does need to be simple social laws attached to the legalizing of it.. example, no driving. prohibit smoking while small children are in the same enclosed room. simple and obvious laws.. Duh!? The DEA nor the ATF need to be involved in cannabis. Cannabis doesnt kill anyone on contact, and it wont explode like Alcohol does.. so government involvement should be minimal at best..
I ask everyone to put the vaporizer down for a while and clear your head, and try to think into the future of this situation at hand now.. If all you can see is you sitting around a table with your friends outside a starbucks, smoking a joint and laughing at the good times.. then your not thinking things through very well..
PEACE, LOVE, HAPPINESS..

I'm going to say it again..incremental steps.

"You will be just as bad and wrong as the Police officer, Court, Lawyer, Bailiff, and Correction facility that now put a Honest Human in a jail cell.."

You are saying that people shouldn't ask other people to vote yes. But this statement proves that you are doing just as much harm by telling people to vote no. Equating people who want Prop 19 to pass to the people you've listed is wrong for those who have worked hard to push the legalization movement forward.

Your entire post is bullshit, but this is perhaps the most egregious example. You have your proportions exactly backwards on who this bill sucks for. The only people adversely affected are the large growers. For everyone else - the casual tokers, workers facing drug testing, people who prefer to avoid the farce of 215 and the cannaquacks, personal growers, etc, etc - this prop works well. The intentionally-written in ambiguities are already being addressed in a positive fashion by ABX6 9. At it's worst, it is no worse than what we currently have. At it's best, it is the most liberal marijuana law in the world.

Hippie Lettuce, Yes.. i am asking people to vote "No" for "this bill".. im not sure what "incremental steps" your talking about.. but if the new prop has Felonies in it, i will always ask everyone in CA. to vote No. Take out the Felonies and i would be voting Yes. Simple.
You state that me wanting people to vote no, i am doing "as much harm". How? Voting No would add "No new felonies" to the Penal code.. You must be talking about the people pushing legalization movement, and them would be the people who are going to "profit" from a Legal stand point. So yes. your correct in that statement. I am against the Politician, felony laws, corporate domination of cannabis. And thats exactly what you invite into your pool with legalization. And they "will" piss in the pool. what "Incremental steps" are involved in "Decriminalization"? one? maybe two?
And letting people know the "human" side of their actions is a good thing in my book. So telling them they are just as guilty for ruining another humans life as the laws that put them behind bars, is a honest and good thing (IMHO). Because for one, those YES people enacted the law by popular vote, and secondly the human that is thrown in jail for one of these new felonies, is done so by the very law the YES people enacted to law. So.. where is your issue?.. i dont see it.. not at all.. please explain..

Summary of Cannabudz posts: Herp Derp.

New felonies? Are you forgetting all the ones it takes away? If you really think you'll ever be able to drive down the road burnin' a fattie with your kid in the back, you need to lay off the weeds, maaaan.

I didn't even understand the point of the second paragraph. English must be your second language, hopefully, right?

I won't take the time to explain because there are a dozen threads explaining away all of your worries, accusations, and assumptions.

Questions Deleted.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you live in a non-medical state, and you feel legalization isnt even in the future. Then i again would suggest pushing for Decriminalization. When the Civil rights movement was at steam, the Black community didnt push to legalize voting for "lighter shade" blacks, or blacks in a certain zip code.. It was All or Nothing.. as Cannabis would be with decriminalization.
If this bill passes, it wont do anything for your state, but maybe to rally the people to get behind a similar bill for your state to legalize it. Which might not be a good thing if this bill is flawed in favor of law enforcement and/or corporations. So for now, you are better off with this California bill being put down. If it gets shot down, We the people of California have the chance to re-write a new and improved bill, that wont jail humans. If you wait for a good clean bill to come out of California you would be in a better position to get a similar law passed in your state.. The more common sense in a bill, the easier it is to pass.
and lastly, dont be satisfied with a slice of the cake.. You deserve the entire cake. To invite your friends to partake in it as well. Your friends shouldnt be asked to get Uncle Sams permission to pull up a chair and have a slice with you..

Ahh.. Hippie Lettuce.. I thought so..
I have said how i feel on this issue of prop 19.. im not going to try to twist arms here.. people will do what they will, and the rest of us will just have to adapt to it.. the end.

You didn't answer my question. Here it is again: Why am I better off with the bill failing?

"Wait for decrim (that will never happen)" is not an answer....We couldn't even come up with enough votes to get an MMJ bill on, let alone decrim. You also don't understand what happens when a bill like this passes. You should find out....Google is your friend.

you can also read about the civil rights movement and how it didn't happen all at once. It was in steps. I'll even give you a link:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/African-American_Civil_Rights_Movement_(1955–1968)

I won't even touch on your incoherent ramblings about "medical grade." How is it staying illegal helping the end user's quality? How will it ever be tested and regulated if it isn't legalized.

Stop dodging the question. Give me an answer. Why am I better off now?

I wish i had a answer for you Johnny Rotten..
Your Not a California resident.
You seem to want to hold California and its laws accountable for your state legislation.. which i can do nothing about. It sounds like "Little brother" syndrome to me.. Wanting the same thing your parents allow your big brother to have, you automatically assume you should get the same.
If you feel your state is no where near legalizing or decriminalizing it, then all i can do is recommend you move somewhere else. Or run for senate and change the law to how you would like it to be.
you keep asking me "why are you better off now"... well, honestly your in the same boat either way.. if it passed today, are you telling me your troubles would be gone tomorrow?. either way Johnny Rotten, you are not effected by the outcome of California laws if you live outside the state.. petition your local state official for a response, they are much more incline to have a strait forward answer for you. Rather than my "California scope" of the issue.
you ask that question "Why am i better off now". its obvious you have a answer in your head, and any other response will be sub-par and open for harassment. I tried to answer your questions the best i know how. so.....

Let me personally apologize for posting your PM question.. I dont travel the forums very often, let alone post that often.. I don't quite know how to respond to personal messages.. I come here to "hang out" with like minded people and get informed.. It was in no way my intent to embarrass or single you out in any way.. Sorry.

please, vote no. don't try to fix something thats not broken. California right now is like ganja paradise.

I'm not a California resident but I am a U.S resident and when state laws get challenged, they do end up in something called The United States Supreme Court where rulings are made by judges who aren't tied at the wrists by unjust laws.

You can read about Arizona SB 1070 if you need a clear picture of what will happen.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arizona_SB_1070

We are hoping, through this process, that cannabis will be rescheduled on a federal level.

Do you now understand how this affects more than just the residents of California? The US is the main reason that the whole world's drug laws are so fucked up.

This is about soo much more than California...you guys are spoiled rotten already and most have forgotten what prohibition really feels like. Hopefully the naysayers will have a change of heart before voting no.
