the hempies are cheap to set up but they have a lot of problems with pH swings and what not is what i hear anyways

they work for some ppl sure just i keep hearing more and more that you more less have to turn them on and camp on them can have no life but your buckets due to pH fluctuations to really be very successful at it
where as a bigger res you can actually walk away from for 2-3 days
I prefer a set up like this if i can't have some kind of freedom no ty

how long does it take to germ beans in a cup it has been almost 48 hr. and a few root tips are showing

Depending on many variables. How old the seeds are. The germination temperature,etc. I ran upstairs and took this pic for You. This is a sativa/Haze run. I think I planted them 6 or 7 days ago.

If root tips are showing then that particular bean is germinated. Some beans will take longer then others but should follow close behind the ones that have already germinated. Some beans might not ever germinate. How many might not make it depends on how good the quality of the seeds are, how well they've been cared for, etc.

fill up your sprouting pots with soil or rock wool for hydro and get that seed in there in about 3-5 days you should see it poking through the soak really onely needs to be 10-12 hours to each his own good wall
Hey I have read several pages and just wanted to ask about shipping seeds? I going to nepal in nov and wanted to try to find some decent seeds. I was wondering if you had any info on how best to get seeds out of the country, or how best to ship seeds stealthy.
BTW my thread on nepal is in the travel section if anyone can recommend anything to do with traveling in nepal or obtaining hash.

Well I've never been out of the US except for a few trips to the Caribbean so I don't have much experience. Most importantly you got to have a true safe address. By true I mean one that in no way can ever or will ever point back to you. Beyond that though I imagine other things need to be considered like for example lots of people into the drug culture go to Nepal so anyone going there and wanting to send stuff from there back home is going to seem suspicious. So in that case I would think you either need to go somewhere else away from Nepal, mail your stuff and go home. Alternatively if you know someone who is a local there you could have that person send you whatever it is you want to send.

Hey gents I have probably been lazy and not checked correctly and have asked this in the chat? but how badly do you think a 250w Hps will affect my stealth and electricity situation?

Im running a 1000 watt sodium now, but also have a couple 250s. They work pretty good and are low on current consumption. Heat output is also easily managable

Does it register as a high output device or do three 100w std bulbs use the same?
for example when my std light bulb says 100w like an incandesant does that mean it uses the same kind of electricity or does a hps show up kinda thing?
I dont know the best way to ask this so if you feel my beats (which i hope).

What about leaf cuttings? I have one that is good and rooted. Will it grow?

250 watts is nothing in this day and age.
600 watts is safe and will yield far better results, imo.

It shouldn't affect your electricity situation much at all, you could create a bigger electrical drain by running 3 house lamps with 100W incandescent bulbs. As for stealth, that's hard to say without knowing anything at all about your setup. If your setup is properly light proofed and adequately ventilated then it shouldn't affect your stealth at all.
If it's rooted then it already has grown because it didn't have those roots initially. Now will it grow into a nice full plant? That I'm not sure of, I've never tried to clone from just a single leaf. If it's rooted then I would think it should grow but since a leaf is not the recommended part to clone from it might be missing something that keeps the plant from properly developing.

i am planing a ebb/flow hydro setup, and have some questions.
-is rockwool the best medium for hydro, and do you have to fasten them to the table, if not wont they tip over?
how long should the table flood, i guess it depends on how often you flood, is there any guidelines?
if you sprout a plant from seed, how long until you can take a clone, how small can they be, and still have a good chance of survival?
