Thats not the mix I am using for this grow, Thats the mix the user philthy uses.

I have switched things up since the 1st grow in this thread not using the same mix from it either.

The mix I am using for this run is as follows.

1 bale of bcuzz hydro mix
1 bag of foxfarm ocean forest
1 bag of foxfarm happy frog
1 bag of earth worm castings
1¼ cup blood meal
1¼ cup of bone meal
½ cup of peace of mind fruit and flower
¾ cup of dolomite lime

I have not noticed any gnats using ffof myself, Only time I had any problems with gnats was when I was using miracle grow organic in a previous mix simular to the one your speaking of.

Blaze,

I've been a hydro guy from the start, but am looking to set up another location as a soil op. Could you tell me what size bags of FF and EWC you use? Also, I didn't see anywhere how much the mix makes. How many containers of what size would be perfect. TIA

I'm gonna make some assumptions here on a couple items:

Bcuzz 3.8 cubic feet
Ocean forest 1.5 cubic feet
Happy Frog (normal bag) 2.0 cubic feet
Worm casting (varied sizes) 1.0 cubic feet

Total 8.3 cubic feet

8.3 cubic feet equals 62.0883117 US gallons

Not all pots follow an exact "gallon range". Two different 3 gallon pots can have different volumes.

Mr Celsius is pretty much spot on....

1 bale bcuzz hydro mix 3.8 cf
1 bag foxfarm ocean forest 1.5 cf
1 bag foxfarm happy frog 2.0 cf
1 bag of earth worm castings 30lb bag.

I usually get around 12 5 gal bags per mix depending on how tightly packed the pots are.

Ive always worked with Fox Farm Products, and fur sure love there soil. Have you ever used, or thought about using Guanos Mexican Guano for vegging, and Indonesian Guanos for flowering i believe, vs blood and bone meal? Also, if you can get some black strap molasses, its loaded in micro nutes, and secondary nutes, gives a wonderful flavor, and can be used all the way to harvest...

Your a great grower fur sure.

very nice! So of all the soil mixes you have used, which one would you consider your favorite? Or are you always adjusting and trying new things?

Im going to use your mix at the next spot I get. If i can get 1.5 per light with a good yielding strain there's no reason to even mess with building a hydro setup.

Just read 42 pages haha! MAN! AMAZING! Much :respect: blaze1up thank you for letting us all sit in and see your process from beginning to end, I certainly learned alot!

Thanks so much for sharing your soil mix it looks like something I may be interested in trying in the future :chin:

Gotta give you props man, the same questions came up so many times and you only once or twice called someone out on not reading through the thread effectively, props on patience and I will be lurking this thread until it dies! :lurk:

Its not really confidence its experience with the strain. So I can pretty much be sure of myself and the results to come. Plus I just topped them giving them one more week veg, The smallest plant had 8 tops when I topped them, The largest had 17, Now the smallest will have 16 tops and the largest will have over 30+ tops.

when you top, do you take the very top new growth? I need to get it done but have been afraid to take off the wrong leaves. 2 weeks into veg from seed
