Flower Stage Growth

Hi guys,

At the moment my plants are abt 45cms/1.5 feet high. They are 5 weeks old. Im looking at flipping them into the flower stage at the end of next week (so six weeks in)

My question is what is the growth rate like when you switch to flower?

Im asking this question because my understanding is when the plant is going through the veg phase it puts all of its energy into growth, however when you switch it to flower it puts all of its energy into producing flowers/seeds. So ... does the plant basically stop growing up and out and just ... bloom?

My plants are sativa

Thanks for any replies or interest

expect another foot to close to double its size now. what kind of head room are you working with? if you're running out of space go with the LST (low stress training) method. i just installed mine tonight. ill be posting photos within the hour.

nice man i like how you are training the plants with the mesh!

i have plenty of room to play with, from the floor to the froof its 2.5m (7.5 feet or so?) so height isn't an issue. i was just curious as to if the plant still grows in flower and i guess you can say if it doubles then thats a fair amount!

Hey Mage, according to all the material (and this is up for discussion) the plant in layman's terms, stops growing up and starts growing out,now I don't mean it wont get taller it will trust me,but the plant will almost open its fingers like if you were to open your hand,I was told it is supposed to triple in size, but Im sure this is depending on a lot of aspects.

I vegged for too long the first time also expecting the plant to slow in growth, don't believe it budding is the most hectic time for growth.
I ended up having to knock the bottom part of my box out and mounting it higher on my wall (this made light proofing a Fucking nightmare) dont get caught with your pants down.

Good luck and send some pics,

And probably more with sativa strains. :dance013:

2,50m least distance between apex and the lamp, least the pot size...
Definitly, they should go into blooming in in my humble opinion...

Wish you good grow.

thanks for listing that thread, its an awesome read. im a huge fan of sativas as i dont like the opiate like indica stone, however indica seems to be really popular not only on a lot of grows ive seen here but all of the weed i have bought where i live seems to feel like indica strains.

once again thanks for the link :)

thanks guys! ill post some pics soon. these are seeds from some of my older grows a few years back where the plants were hitting 5-6 feet. i do think i was veging them for way to long.

i have to admit its kind of cool when you have like a 6 foot tall indoors plant xD

lemme take a pic ...

i did want to steer away from linking pics as my plants have been fighting some issues (overwatering/underwatering/root rot) however i seem to have gotten on top of the issues and the plants are starting to recover well. well ... one is the other looks buggered lol but both are growing :)

heres some pics ...

i love the huge thin leaves :)

Aweh!!!!

Aweh!!!!

I think that plant looks like it will produce a high above what you expect,Thanks for the PIC's,If you were to see how crappy my plants looked at a stage it would make you feel 10 times better.

Keep trucking my man,I want to see these babies the whole way though.

I love the very thin almost african looking leaves always gets my THC receptor site in my brain buzzing with excitement.

If you have the space I would veg for a little longer and try get as much as I can out of them,I cant really see how much space you have though.I personally prefer to do all my topping and LST while the plant is still in veg and only very few adjustments when in flower because I like all the plants energy to go into the bud and not stem repair or light reach.

when switched to flower plants on average get 2-3x their veg size

Especially Sativas! - Be prepared to do some training during flowering.

You'll also have to be patient - pure Sativas can take a very long time to mature. I've read that 12-14 weeks in bloom is not uncommon.

yeah sweet!

i have plenty of height. i drove a hook through the cieling and into a roof wooden beam so i have maximum height. 2.5 meters (a meter is roughly 3 feet) is pleeeenty xD id take some pics but its hard because the lighty causes distortion in the pics.
