Hey Johnny, your CJ #8 sure does look and sound thai dominant, i bet she is gonna have some awesome smoke. here are some pics of my casey that has been the farther behind pheno and she is now starting to pack on the weight and is starting to catch my eye more and more every day.
the pistils look very similar to my arcata trainwreck pistils, very curly from the first day they grow in.
Thanks for stopping by stray. Glad you enjoy the thread
Hey MH! Nice shots again.
It's good to know the TW has curly pisitils. I've been watching for a TW leaning pheno and have been looking for an earlier finisher with the lime green bud. I now get to look for curly pistils too
I keep trying to decide which ones will get culled for the next round as the mama hunt progresses, but can only pick 2 of the 9 girls that look even quasi-worthy of culling... Oh boy... At least it's a good problem to have
hey johnny! im stuck on which pheno to run again too, lol. they all look good enough to run again, just gonna have to do a taste test and see what kind of high they create before i start selecting phenos.
that last picturesi posted, im guessing, are more oriental express dominant because it looks like she is gonna go the longest, has to be the Thai in her. The other two will come down first. One of them has huge calyxes and so frosty that i first thought it was some sort of mold because its so thick. i wish i had a good camera to take some macros.
Are you able to describe the smell from any of your Caseys?
I have so many different caseys all in the same room, it's real hard to nail down a smell on a certain plant.
I've noticed a lot of fuel/diesel type smells on almost all the girls. I've also found some sugar-y/sweet smells from a few of the girls. The sweet smells tend to be from the smaller plants and are normally overpowered by the fuel.
In fact I'm running a CAN 33 with a 6" can fan in my room, and an optimum 4000 upstairs, and I still get whiffs of the fuel smell walking around my place.
I've heard the TW has very small calyxs, but I have no firsthand experience with her, so I would bet and my random knowledge compiled from reading that one with the massive calyx is ECSD leaning...
I've been basing most of my observations on stretch, bud size, trich coverage, and intersex tendencies. Just something to keep me occupied, because it will all come down to how they smoke. But from what I can see, I doubt there is gonna be a girl, that isn't knock-out potent, tasty, and top shelf bud.
Was gonna try to snap some pics tonight, but I'm awfully busy the beginning of this week, so I might be slow to get them up and posted.
Some new CJ that I just threw into flower. These are on Day 12
I had to turn on the flash. MH's pics look way to frosty, it's the only way I can compete
Some individual plant shots. Day 50
CJ 1
CJ 2
CJ 3
CJ 4
CJ 5
CJ 8
CJ 6 and 7 aren't anything to write home about, and are the two that will be first up on the chopping block unless their smoke is out of this world. CJ 9 is in a pot that is way too small for her. So she's not very pretty She will get another run to prove herself.
CJ 2 is a lot like 8, but mild in a lot of categories when compared. The smell is less, the bud size is less, the stretch is less, the trich coverage is less, so CJ 2 may be up on the block as well... Even though she is still a killer plant imo...
Hey Johnny butt, Came back with a few late flower pix. Im digging your vert scog homey. Vertical is a good idea with the CJ, as she wont grow up past the light. We all know this girl likes to grow BIG! Neway heres an update to my pic back on page 7. These girls have started to purp up in these crazy low temps weve been having in OCT.
nice shots Johnny!, that vert is sick, i love the doughnut of buds, lol. what size of screen are you using? is it bigger than the regular poultry netting.
Here are a few more from this week. All on Day 56 flower. They got their first water only drink, and will be on that diet the rest of the way out. Probably 4 more waterings till they hit 70 days where they will all be coming down.
A side shot of some of the casey colas
CJ 1
CJ 2
CJ 3. She wasn't looking nearly as nice as some of the others at the beginning, but she has become a beautiful woman!
CJ 5
CJ 8
CJ 9 in the small pot... Hence the small cola, but she looks like nice smoke still
An Unidentifiable Cola (AUC!!)
And one of the new girls. 4 of them were thrown in the room and are on Day 18
Nighttime temps have dropped down to 38°F-45°F. I woke up this morning to frost. Im kinda wishing I would have harvested the bigger buds yesterday when Iwas out. I will most likely harvest the majority of these plants today. ITs gettin really cold out there! THis summer we had above average night time temps, but looks like thats over, and the snow could fall anyday
A few quick close ups of my favorite girls. All a little different, and my favorite looking out of the pack. Day 59 now, and it looks like some may go past the 70 day mark. I'm going to chalk that up to the abuse at the beginning of flower, and I will take them as long as they need to go. I don't have anything else looking to fill the room after these, it will be a short hiatus until winter and I complete a big move
CJ 1 - The yielder. Sativa looking, but the buds are filling out quite nicely. Covered in resin. Seems to take the best of all the plants and sticks it in one
CJ 4 - She has round looking calyx's. Very densely covered with trichs. Not much bud density to her, but her small round calyx's and trich coverage really make her stand out.
CJ 5 - A middle of the road plant between the low density, round CJ 4 buds and some denser more leafy phenos. A little less trich coverage than CJ 4 but larger slightly more sativa looking buds.
CJ 8 - I've been impressed by her the whole grow. Very sativa looking, with a huge stretch and large airy buds. Skinny sativa leaves, and quite the trich coverage.
H3ad, or anyone with experience with the TW, OE, or ECSD, I'd love to hear which are leaning towards which phenos, and what you all may think of these ladies
