Traps are a two edged sword, sure theres the minute chance that a thief will actually meet the trap and it will deter them from taking anything.. This isn't very likely..


Imagine what would happen if a police officer, or random kid ran into one of your traps.. it wouldn't end well for you..


just something to think about.


Who knows maybe someone who had no idea about your plants would get hurt by a trap.. Its not the best form of security.

On a more positive note i pulled 2 200gals today (2weeks premature) but fuck it im not waiting for more to be taken. and to be honest i was getting anxious to try the trim reaper out. plowed right thru both them in about 10hours. would have taken me 3-4 days had i done it by hand

Damn bro, sorry to hear about the loss but at least you got something out of it. I wouldn't do traps though because that could come back to bite you in the ass if you aren't careful. You should maybe try planting a bunch of thorn bushes around your plots next year. It may not deter the most persistent of rippers but will certainly go a long way from keeping most people far enough away from your plot. My 2 cents.

dude my mind is made up ima put barb wire at ankle height about 4-5 ft from smart pots so they trip and then a nice friendly bear trap in the brush so when they goto catch themselves they land head first in the trap. im out for blood next year. ima put plants in the smartpots they took just to get one of them hurt. Maybe even a game camera so i can record one of there deaths.

Don't do it. Just learn from your mistakes and move on.

It will DOUBLE your jail time if you get caught with bobby traps or if you "murder" someone you will be in lockdown life bro! Are a few replaceable plants really worth it?

yep. sux bro. exactly 7 days ago, the day before i got my trimmer in the mail i went to my main plot and......... my biggest plant(2+LBS), 10 smaller(1-2LBS) and every cola on the remaining 40(1-2LBS) were gone. so, id say 1/2 of my total for that spot. cut it all down, scrapped the drying it at the grow, and brought it all home. Expert trimmer from hydro wholesale did last years work of three peeps three days in a mere 10 hrs solo.

absolutely destroyed me at the moment, after i got the shit all trimmed it was a little easier to deal w. after the first elbo was moved, i came to terms w the fact that it was all part of the game. but damn aero, this game sure is stressful. every day i wonder if a med state would elieviate all that shit.

Even though this sucks I think you should consider yourself lucky. It was obviously the warden who took the plants, or at least showed Leo the site. No one else would have driven a vehicle through the bush right up to the site. He could have busted you in the bush when he had you nailed, taken your truck, but let you go for whatever reason, which is pretty fucking rare for law enforcement. I followed this thread from day 1 and was rooting for you big time. You grew some bitchin plants, take some solace in that. You now have some good experience with the smart pots and .....well, there's always next year.

Devastating news! Sorry to hear it. It was only a few days ago I posted how I couldn't wait to see you harvest. Damn, it all happens so quick.

Game cameras are the way forward I think, I'm guessing there are models that send photos to a remote location. Just done a quick search though and found nothing.

I'd want to know who they are before causing any injury. Even if they do get away, at least you've got a face as a lead. And by the sounds of it, a gamer camera is a small investment in comparison to your potential yield.

there are several cameras that will send your pics to an email or mobile phone moultrie makes one that is pretty affordable if you get the infared one it is hardly noticable when it takes a pic unles your looking directly at it you will never see it in the pitch black dark

Well, he also runs water to them, so he's got a truck within distance. 3200 gallons is a gigantic bitch, but given a few weeks of setup time its doable. Guy's gotta be ripped as hell though. Brown Dirt Warrior style.
