PH damaged plants - Should I just CHUCK them away??

Basically they grew to be big but once they got PH damaged they stopped growing it seems. Stop developing. Every other plant is showing buds and has been budding for 2 weeks now. these aren't budding and aren't growing or anything.

At this point i'm guessing just throw them in the trash even at 2 feet tall?

are they the same strain as the others?

it wouldnt hurt to keep them unless you could use the space to spread some others into

It could take weeks to recover...don't chop unless you need the room. It's worth seeing how they do...right? They sometimes snap back wonderfully.

PH does not damage plants. Low ph/acid, allows deficiencies to damage plants. Sounds like you have a chance to learn something.

Don't forget...high pH will go the same thing. And I'd bet it's much more common, most tap water is pretty alkaline. Mine is 8+ and it WILL kill a seedling.

it was PH 8+ for a little while. water was wicked. so basically these plants have some yellow and the other parts are all distored green small weird looking leaves. the plant is green but feels sorta dry. some of them are tiny some are larger but none of them are growing or changing at all for the past few weeks. i could keep them there but it'll take up space from new clones.

You mentioned insects in your last thread; have you tried to id them? If you are growing in pots you can submerge the pots in a bucket and watch for crawlies running up the sides. pH damage usually takes more than just a little while to cause so much damage. also Can you look at the roots? I had a pH meter die once and ran a 8.5ish for a few days with just some burnt tips I suspect something else may be causing your problems. If indeed it is a lockout problem you should flush heavily with Ph 5.3-5.5 water and then begin feeding again with 1.5 ec nutes at about 5.5ph. when you see normal growth slowly increase the EC. Very best of luck and keep your eyes peeled for gnat-like flying insects.

Same here. Currently growing DP Brainstorm and those ladies can sail from 6.5 down to 4.0 without showing problems. FMS WWxBB then seems to bitch about everything I give them... :chin:

The last plant I was about to 'trash' i decided to just let play out, as I wasn't hurting for space or up against my legal plant count.

That plant looked like crap the entire grow, was slower, etc.. and gave me 42grams dried.

I always let them play out now, and look at each case as an opportunity to learn skills in the 'infirmary/rescue dept'.

my first grow, i fucked up royally. most of the time (around 70% of its first three weeks), the ph was either under 5 or over 8. I also FIMed it, and then accidently hit it and broke a node LOL. I also transplanted it twice, sloppily, tearing some roots and first placing it in unwashed hydroton. To sum it up, it was a royal fuck up :)

Well, it survived (although i think it should be bigger for the 4 weeks of existence it has had), the nodes are like 1cm apart from eachother, leaves looking healthy. I have a VERY bushy plant and its growing well now, have a crapload of roots that have filled half the res... I guess I did a good choice having AK48 feminised as my first. LOL.

They might not be worth anything but you should learn how to bring them back to health so see what you can do with them.

Dumb answer. A full point +/- will kill a plant if not caught and corrected ASAP.

That's not a dumb answer, it's a very accurate one, it's the plants inability to absorb nutrients at the incorrect pH that causes the harm.
