Warning new off gassing product!!!!

so it goes through a alumina block, then into the kdf ( the alumina and kdf are in the same filtering unit??) then the water goes thru the tall blue pre filter unit, then the ro units?

if this is not correct, could you draw it out (the path the water takes)

example. source water------->allumina/kdf unit------->tall blue unit-------->R.O.filters.

wateranywhere.com has every thing you could think of, filter housings are like $8.

The only reason I evn have the KDF and alumina is because of the problem with the tube. During the time we thought we had bad water we bought ever filter we could.

Freaking crap. You have got to be kidding me. I have been chasing issues in my grows for almost one year. All my tubing is this NGW crap. I have a 100 foot roll sitting on my storage shelf.

Most of my tubing is the black stuff. I have some blue, but mostly black. Does the black tubing also have the issue?

My tests were on the black but several members here have the same problem with the blue. So it is safe to say both are bad.

I have been trying to clone for months, right next to a crap load of this tubing. Could the off-gassing be causing all my cloning to fail? As pissed as I am about this, if its the tubing and I can be rid of it and move on, I am going to be really happy in the end.

IMHO it's why so many people are having no success or very little success with the EZ Cloners.
Botanicares White plastic Aero Cloner's do not off gas.

This is the first ive read about EZ cloners being a problem, got any more info?

of gassing was a huge problem for the tent makers. The Secret Jarden and the homebox where the only 2 vendors that did not use these chems in the making of there tents. Thats why those 2 companys made a ton of cash from tents. I do beleive this issue was resolved for tents

I just replaced over 200 feet of tubing, a dozen+ valves, ties, clamps, drip holes, hangers, routing, etc. What a pain in the *&%*^$%$.

I did replace all my 1/2 inch. I still have plenty of 1inch left (my drainage). I haven't placed (somewhere local I can buy) hydrofarm 1inch anywhere yet.

So was a conclusion ever made as to whether this is just the tubing, or the tubing AND the fittings made by NGW that are off gassing? I have a dozen or so bulkhead fittings by NGW and I'm not really looking forward to replacing them.

All my fitting I have are NGW I have had them for years. The problem is just with the soft flexible hose that uses phthalate. There should be no phthalate in the fittings.

I had the bad luck of buying a growtent off of ebay, trying to save some cash. Yhe catching tray and the air intake and outake socks were the white plastic and were off-gassing and affected the plants badly within a few days. By some stroke of luck I`d read about it whilst solving an interveinal yellowing problem I had in another grow and took the offending parts off of the tent and things returned to normal.

Any ideas of finding out what plastics are likely to off-gas. I have 90 ltr black plastic refuse bins as rez`s for example. Cheap and cheerful ya know. I`m having no issues at the moment though, but something I`m now very wary about.
