building first grow cabinet

heres a picture of how i will set up my drip system, i have a old small aquarium pump to pump the water to the drip lines, and i have a old air pump keeping the reservoir bubbly with fresh air.... I have the tubing i just need to get the fittings and the actual drippers.

i will be putting 2 plants in the 4gal bucket, and will be filling it with either coco or soil. i will put 3 1/4 gph drippers in the bucket but only let it run for 30min-1hr per day depending on size of the plant. i figure if i let the pump run for 30min with 3 drippers i will feed it 1.5L per day going up to 3L when i leave it on for an hr.

my water reservoir holds 7.5L's which gives me 2-5 days of watering depending on the numbers.... the reservoir was an old garbage bin so its messy, but it will be cleaned up. also i will be building a small box and filling it with insulation to keep the temperature down.... the lid will have panda paper on it to help keep the heat off it as will the sides, the lid will just be plexi glass and a hing from left over parts....

heres a vid showing the flow rate of the water pump and the air pump in the res:

the closer i get to being finished the less i can wait....

Definitely just keep to the lighting you have until you have the money to upgrade :). Pl-l's or led's if you have heat issues.... CMH if not ;)

i didn't use anything more then simple household inline fans, my trick was sound deadening and spray foam.

if possible try to separate the heat source, I used the Plexiglas and a small fan to suck the air out... that way i didn't have to worry about high heat and don't need a large fan.

And how about wiring etc ? could you maybe post a link to the right type of inline fan please ? i have been all over the net and im just getting confused !!

the fans are 120v and i just wired to a plug that goes to a power bar which plugs into a timer... depending on where u are in the world they have many different voltages and wire color codes so i wont go into details on that but like i said if u go to a standard hardware store online and searched inline fans im sure you could find one that would work if u want to use a inline fan, but there are other fans that are quieter, you just have to do the research.

there are plenty of very useful threads in here on how to pick the right fan for your application...

Yeah great there are other fans out there quieter you just have to do the research ! very helpfull ! i dont mean any offense but the whole reason i came to ICMAG is that its known as a knowledgeable site ! if you know the answer to something why not say , everyone was in the same boat once and i increasingly i see the same answers "look it up" , "search" , "the answers are there" and i was thinking people pay it forward ?

as i say dont take offense just my opinion cheers good luck

well i cant help you because i only know my inline fans,so instead of feeding you bs and misinformation ill tell you to search peoples post/threads who do know... and i cant give you the posts/threads because i dont have them bookmarked or remember who wrote them.... just becuase this is the internet and some people know what they are talking about doesn't mean we all do...

i love the info on here just as the next guy but i dont expect everyone with a grow to have an answer for every question... so i told u to go look ?

Ciscosfa, I think you should look into S and P TD series fans... All you hear is the awesome amounts of airflow. Get one that suits you best.

Sorry man i just presumed you know of a better fan , and in retrospect my post is a bit dickish ! i think i was just getting annoyed at reading people telling other people to do searches etc . So please accept my apology it was not meant to be a personal attack .

here are the final results, I am bumping this just to show the filter of active carbon, the final temps, and the humidity.

I will be starting a grow journal here.
https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?p=4020599#post4020599

I admit the humidity is low bit that can be addressed. other then that the airflow, and sent removal of the filter is amazing. i spent the time between the last post and now growing a very smelly tomato plant (actual tomato plant lol). during that time i worked out a schedule to the fans to keep the temps down, and am very happy to say that even at their lowest use the cab stays will within a safe number... the highest the cab ever got was 81deg becuase of the heat of the rad behind it.

ps ignore the wilty tomato leaves, i basically just threw it in a coffee pot and ignored it enough to just keep it alive lol....
