Industrial Grow?

Yea, INSPECTIONS. This should be on the first page. If you're a hotshot trying to talk shit about fronts on the first page, shut the fuck up, you missed the motherfucking obvious reason this is a bad idea.

Ceramic shop is a great idea IF you can do it on private property with no deed restrictions and shit and IF by this means you can avoid inspections. There are neighborhoods like that all around me, big lots with a house in front and a small business in the back.

Otherwise the only other safe way to grow in an industrial space is to buy it, have it recategorized as residential because hey you're going to redevelope that warehouse into lofts, right? That would prevent random inspections in the future..

INSPECTIONS INSPECTIONS INSPECTIONS

This is how Lothar was caught, right? Some inspector accidentally busted a hole in the warehouse subunit wall, stuck his head thru and looked a what was causing that light.. Lothar was pretty confident he could beat it.. then OG went down

ahh, yes, finally the info I am looking for. There's gotta be a reason this wasn't done yet, now it all makes a little sense. I know there is a reason in socal this is not a bigger issue. So what, is it illeagal to do a medical grow in a business? Meaning as far as MMJ laws, it's within the legality. What could an inspector really do on the state level at this point in time?

Nice. Scaling up to 10-30k wouldnt be a problem then.

I harvest every 30 days too.. more efficient to have a "beginning-flower" phase :)

Well, I have no idea what the California laws/situation is. I live in KKK-land here it is simple

yeah, just kinda like, double the work, not a big deal.

I just need more info on this inspection part of the game. I have a service business already, easier to keep vague but good records that way. And anyone that can shed some light on this Lothar situation would be great.

The inspection front and inspections is a double edged sword.

I speak from running a legit service business in a warehouse area. It is referred to as "flex-space" in my area. Basically large buildings with multiple tenants having various sized spaces. Each bay is the same but over time tenants have taken multiple bays, knocked down walls etc.

I also had a good sized warehouse grow.

You want to stay low profile on the inspections. No business name, no licenses etc. If an inspector comes by tell them its used for personal use, storing motorcycles, cars. They shouldnt press the issue as there is no occupational license

But on the flip side people are going to wonder what the hell you are doing there all the time with no business name, deliveries etc

See the dilemma?

Then if you have a business front, you will have people stopping for directions, cant find XYX company down the road, trying to sell you shit, or applying for jobs. Seen it all

As far as I am concerned, there is no "legit" grow in cali after reading all the bullshit I have read. Now I have read a grow log here where the cops came in for a burglar alarm, guns drawn etc, and after verifying paperwork and making sure it was a false alarm, they left and that was the end of that. If LEO in your area has the same attitude, then you may be OK.

I am telling you, forget the partner and warehouse. BAD BAD BAD IDEA. I have been down that road, trust me.

How much money are YOU going to invest? Take that money and get a house.

Oh the Lothar issue. I know who he is, I followed his DIY aero tube build and built my own. Dont know about his bust but it sounds like the same thing that happened to me.

Neighbors cut a hole in the wall, came through and took a looksy. Called the cops. Cops "claimed" they could see plants from the hole as they could not go inside the hole. It was bullshit but they got a warrant, I fought it, had a PI, very good attorney, video tape showing angles, to scale drawings, etc and lost the motion to suppress the warrant. Cops did not cut the hole so no legal angle there. Lothar may have run into the same fate

BTW this was many many years ago and was a small op with just a few plants at the time. Not to confuse anyone who knows of the latest catastrophe.

IF you insist, find a stand alone building, in a quiet area, with owner financing.

The inspection front ...

I am turning away from the idea. I think purchasing a house with the initial investment it would take to blow up o small industrial space, and keeping my meager 3k setup is going to have to work

A stand alone building would be hard to come by and surely would be quite a bit more expensive that I was hoping. I am really trying to not eat where i shit.

Good plan.

Wait a few days. I have been considering writing a guide on how to buy houses cheap with little to no down payment and how to set up multiple houses so if one gets busted, the others don't go down

You can do an 8KW in a 2 car garage, dial it in and get 6# a month out of it, maybe even more. If you don't have a regular job do a big sog, moms, lots of clones, tiny veg room and dual 4KW flowering rooms on CO2. And you can do it all by yourself and keep all the profits without worrying about partners. It's a win-win.

Business fronts at a warehouse are what get you the visits by the fire marshal in most states. if you don't have a business front, most of the time you don't need inspections. Just rent it for storage space, nothing more.

There are cheaper alternatives to houses, dude. Ya see, dusto, Im kinda in your shoes as well. Right now i have a 2k grow now, and want to expand, so I have been checking into things too.

My plan is to go into the country, for a few reasons, I shall explain. First, the pigs look for grows outdoor rather than indoor, rural electric consumption is not as uniform as suburban and urban are, and finally, fewer people and fewer regulations.

What I plan on doing is buying some cheap unrestricted land, and depending on finances, either have a 10x20 shed (or bigger) and cabin delivered to said property, or have a steel building erected.

With either option I would have to finish the inside of the building(s). But realistically, because I live in the midwest, I could spend under 10k and have everything paid for, and not be more than an hour or two away from where I live.

IMHO a private house basement is the safest place to grow. Build a room within a room (sealed environment). Pad lock it. No in or out vents. A landlord that lives far far away is great too. Just send him/her the check/money order.

Fire marshals do show up unexpectedly in commercial properties. I had it happen to me a few times. They check EVERYTHING. Have your main electrical box in order. They look at it for fire code violations. Don't have all kinds of wires coming out of it. Have your grow room professionally wired with a sub-panel.

I would only do a warehouse if the landlord was cool with it and gave me a heads up before an inspection or official visit. Given the landlord's approval, work at night if possible. No inspections occur at night and usually all neighbor businesses are closed. Even in a warehouse, I would do a room within a room to control the environment and smell. It is also much better to open the door for someone to see a large locked box than lots and lots of plants. They need probable cause to open that padlock without a warrant. If they see plants...

Try the legal way first... work yourself up to becoming a caregiver.

Really? You're gonna write a guide on how to create too much supply of weed in the US, all while you're unable to grow yourself, and by the time you might be able to, supply:demand will be so out of whack (due to every mom & pop w/ no industry experience suddenly jumping up at the "legal" opportunity to blow up 50kw+, as is already a reality) that you'll be working a retail / customer service job since it won't be really worth it.

But, I'm sure all these ICMag folks who helped you out through your tough times (right?) will come through again when you need help making rent.

LOL I cant argue that point.

But I doubt explaining how to buy houses no money down is going to flood the market. I have never had issue selling product.

Maybe I should charge for the article??? :)
