Big difference from the two?

cure in jars and transport to ziplock bags? can not just cure in the bag so one moves it less and doesn't have thc knocked off here and there.

I've never used bags so I can't say. Though most people say that you lose trichomes because they stick to the bag.

jars r better bcuz u can wash them with iso and collect the resin stuck to the glass... it ends up being over a gram of iso, which is worth it!

and the thc dont fall off trichomes do.....dunno why people call trichomes thc when thc is encapsulated inside the trichome gland itself...use jars to cure...dunno why you would want to use plastic which leaks air.....and who disposes of glass jars called reuse them no use in throwing away perfectly good jars

canning jars are air tight, your typical ziploc bags are not completely air tight

even multiple ziplocs won't stop the stank of really aromatic herb, especially during temperature/pressure changes (shipping!) it will seep right out

ziplocs are only for emergencies IMO when all the jars are full already :D

what about a 5 gallon bucket with a lid? really depends on the quantity you're trying to cure.

quality. quality. quality. who wants smashed buds ? people want nice, live looking nugs. the jarring period is reverese osmosis, doing it in a bag would not be nearly as effective.

Yeah, curing in bags doesn't really work very well, I've tried vacuum bags too, all that happens is the weed comes out exactly as it went in, zero difference after months.

Cure in glass, burp daily, and 2-4 weeks later you can do whatever you want with it.

I cure in 18 gallon rubbermaid tubs, works well for bigger harvests.

lmfao(not laughing at you by any means) people around here prefer the smashed buds vs nice fluffy nuggs as long as it has no seeds and smells dank...they think its garbage if its nice and fluffy...luckily my friends understand the difference....gotta love how some people dont even know how real herb is supposed to look guess they think it grows all flattened out(i proved this before gave a friend 2 different 1 gram bags of herb one was damp and flat stuffed into a tiny zip bag other was nice dried and not crammed into the bag....someone wanted some herb they had a choice...guess what one they picked first...the smashed up damp bud stuffed in a bag vs the better quality perfectly dried non smashed up bud)...only did this to prove a point...i laughed so hard...yet angered me because i cant believe how stupid some people really are....

How are you doing it in an 18 gallon rubbermaid container??? wouldn't it dry out too fast? it's not really sealed all that well... how does it compare to glass??

Like a greenhouse, airspace is important for curing. I fill a Rubbermaid tub about 1/3- 1/2 way with bud, and toss it and burp it as often as needed (more for damp weed, less for drier weed.) At least 1-2X a day at first, then tapers off over a week. A week later the bud is usually pretty well cured, though some strains take longer than others.

Once that's done I pour the bud through a hardware cloth (metal mesh) with 3/8" openings. Anything that falls through I keep to smoke, the bigger buds stay and top and go to my patients.

Jars = long-term storage, curing can take place, the way to go if you grew it.

Ziplock = When you gotta serve that sack and you need to put the weed in something. Static electricity can knock trichs off, little to no curing ability.

Jars for the win...I haven't put weed in a ziplock for quite a while now..... lol

If you don't have jars, use plastic bags. It doesn't matter. All the naysayers probably haven't tried it. Closing the herb up in a jar or bag is just for getting the moisture to distribute evenly. You don't need it to be air tight. The key to using bags is to stick it in a warm place for a few hours.Warm, not HOT. Lost trichomes?? There are plenty of trich's inside the buds, I wouldn't worry about a few thousand getting stuck to a bag.Every grower on this site has their own way of doing things, take all this advice with a grain of salt and try things out for yourself.
To finish, most people wouldn't know good bud if you slapped them with it.

I use paper bags inside plastic bags

I use paper bags inside plastic bags

My 600 watt home grow produces about a pound of dry bud every grow.

I harvest the top third of my buds and let the rest go an extra week or so to mature before harvesting. It takes about two full garbage bags to cure this way.

Trim the bud first.

I layer the bottom of a grocery store paper bag with bud, one thick layer per bag. I fold up the paper bags, and use a big rubberband, (the ones on asperigus bunches works great), or two to keep the bags folded up.

Eight to ten folded paper bags will fit into a big black plastic garbage bag.

I use at least two, and better yet three big garbage bags, one inside the next. Fill the first with the folded paper bags, gently press out as much air as possible. Seal with a twist tie and then place inside the next bag.

Keep cool and out of the sun. Check your bud every couple of days.

If everything looks and smells "OK", rebag and keep cooking.

If you see any signs of mold or smell any "off" smell, open the bags and dry out. When the bud feels dry to the touch , a bit of chrunch on the outside of the buds when gently squezed, rebag and continue cooking.

After a couple weeks of this, slowly dry everything out. The buds are now dead. At this point I let the buds keep drying until medium stems on buds snap like toothpicks.

Make sure the pot is dry and medium stems snap like toothpicks. Takes five to six days.

This is a great time to load into jars.
or
You can continue with the garbage bags, but use at least three plastic garbage bags at this point to prevent premature drying out.

Fold everything up and put up for two or three weeks. Unload and unfold.

Let everything dry to toothpick snap stage again for medium stems.

The pot is cured and ready to smoke for all practical purposes.

The herb does change over time. Load the personal stash into jars for more curing. Like fine wine, some pot peaks early, others get better and better over time. Go figure. . .

Botanists have preserved pressed botanical specimums in paper for hundreds of years. Even specimums for wet tropical areas are preserved nicely. The paper dries fast and gets rid of extra moisture.

Paper bags absorb extra moisture from the buds. Paper is a buffer to prevent mold with a long cure without jars.

Paper bags, whether lunch bags or grocery bags, dries quickly when used inside of plastic garbage bags or zip locks. If the weed is wet and conditons cool, mold can grow. Check your weed every couple of days. Dry qucikly if mold appears.

Using paper bags gives you more control of the cure. Trichomes don't stick to paper. The dried dust inside is fun to smoke.
