B

blancorasta

hey everybody,

my friends tryin his hand at cloning and he develped some black spots and yellowing on his leaves a few days after in the cloner. he removed the infected leaves and sprayed them with neem. then a few more days later the symptoms reappeared as seen in the pics though they were way worse at first befroe the trim and neem.

he used tap water phd to 6.2 with a very little super thrive and no rooting hormone. i thought it was leaf septoria but im not sure he does have an outdoor garden aswell. what do you guys think it is? what will fix it?

thanks,
peace

looks pretty standard to me mate, I would've put it down to lack of roots/food and not an infection or invasion... but thats just my opinion bro, someone could still come along and tell us she's got Herpes..

Well I hate ta say it, but it looks like she has herpes... lol

Those black spots do look kinda like mold. It's hard ta tell from the pics, are the spots jus on the older ( yellowing ) leaves or the newer greener ones too? BC

I dont personally clone, but it looks like a salt issue due to the superthrive used, Before you cut next time feed the ladies with a nute mix one would give a mother before cloning, that will help them stay green and not yellow.

I think your best bet would be a cloning solution next time, or no solution at all (cloning in a cup method) that way there absolutely will not be an issue with those spots which look like a toxicity or locked up salts.

When I first started growing, I fucked up ph, flushed unecessarily, compacted soil etc. It was near impossible for me to correct some of my problems, however it was my first time doin it and when I figured out the problems and avoided them I didnt have issues again.

So I'd say avoid superthrive altogether and use a cloning gel, I have an emergency stash of clonex even though I dont clone. They really do look fine IMO aside from the spots on the leaves, I dont think the yellowing and the spots are related at all. hope I could be of some help.

if youre interested in the cloning in a cup, just search up cloning in a cup of water on google, a few other forums have detailed techs on how its done.

much respect.:tiphat:

yes the spots are only on the lower older (yellow) leaves, they've been in the ez clone for about 10+ days and no signs of roots.

he removed the superthrive ater and replaced with just ph'd water right after the first signs.

i personal run a ez clone with filtered water ph'd and some clone gel and ive never had any issues.

so im lost

thanks,
peace

Blanco, I think it's jus from them not feedin yet. If it does spread, try Safers organic fungicide, it's worked on mold a couple different times for me in the past.

Now that the temps are droppin purdy much all across the country this time of year, maybe the cloner isn't staying ( constantly ) warm enough......... I never use rooting hormones but I'm using a home-made propagator that's stays bang on 78 degrees. I always have roots ina week.

So, I'd look into that, if ya haven't already. The temps are the key ta quick healthy clones. Good luck! BC
