Hey man - you certainly know how to pack a lot into a little!

Unfortunately, I won't be posting any pics. In my previous life, a long while ago, I used to do a bit of this and some friends who are just starting out, asked for some help. I gave them some tips but my interest was sparked and I wanted to know what was happening these days to see if there was anything new I could learn and pass on. They are rightly careful and won't join a site like this - but I can as I have nothing to worry about. What's been of most interest to me is the ingenious stuff the micro growers are doing. On the scale the lads are doing things, these little beauties seemed like a great choice for the early stages of their hobby.

I can tell you though, that things are now looking cool. Their mixed set of 4x55w 2700K and 6500K, hung horizontally in one plane are doing the job nicely. They've mounted them so that they can be hung parallel in any plane and orientated vertically or horizontally to eachother, to allow them to change the lighting according to the stage they're at.

And I'm loving having a gander at what you folks are up to. Makes me all nostalgic.

The current run is more or less for fun as I said, looks a bit empty but I'll change that when the Orihaze finished

The veg cab isn't used atm, I'll replace the 23W CFL in there with a 36W PL-L, maybe even 2x36W. These are much better because the fluoroscent tube cover a larger area ---> better for seedlings.
The cab in the middle is occupied by my Verdamper vaporizer and the only thing others will see of this whole construction, call it a stealth alibi

Almost forgot:
I use a "Tropf-Blumat"-system supplied with water by the 7l reservoir and 3,5l pots filled with BioBizz Lightmix soil.

I know that this post is way past this point, but I think if you go to a fish store that sells the PLL lights for salt water reef tanks, and you get the 18-20k blue spectrum lights for growing corals, you will get much more out of your plants. Also, If you start your screen about half the distance up that it was started at this point, you will have twice as much nugging space. I'm pretty high, so I don't know if this makes sense, but you can check out info in my PLL club, and my former grows in my Boleman Convertible Cooler using only 24 watt PLL lights in one sq foot of space. You may get some helpful Ideas.


Alos if you were to add 4 24 watt PLL lights horizontally on the sides of your box, you will get even more yield still.

tnx for your advice. Since it was a pure growing-like-hell sativa I had to bend them down several times, the screen being at half height would have been more difficult to handle than it actually did. In the previous grow before I had it that way, but that were no pure sativas I only want to use 110W total, so the additional 24W PL-Ls would break my personal limit. Your grow reports are legendary btw, I read them a year ago when I found the Micro Grow section Nice work

Shes producing resin drops on her leaves you can easily see with bare eyes, just like the OriHaze. I can't remember anything like that happened before, hope she'll become a resin monster

Hey - just checking in to see how things are going in Garuda land. Swimmingly it looks like!

Off topic but want to say how much I'm enjoying your, and other pl-l, journals. There's seems to be a sense of camaraderie, individuality and a willingness to experiment on behalf of the growers represented here (largely small, not-for-profit, old-school style heads which I think is great) - and both are inspiring. My head's buzzing with ideas that i'd like to try out using these lights. Maybe when the kids finally leave home I'll have my two-sided espalier with the horizontal, wide-side on pl-l's in the centre, or my bonzai-Krusty set-up, or my pl-l "X-Box"......
