Did the rockwool cubes ever dry out?

How do the roots look?

How do the leaves look? Any yellowing?

Are they all the same strain?

How small are the small clones compared to the rest? Could just be a slower phenotype.

How much light are they getting?

What nutrients/additives are you using?

Pics would help.

Really! I've never heard that before.
I thought it was a lockout/deficency symptom and get
nervious when I see purple (unless it's a purple strain).

Tell me more about it.

Look up ANTHOCYANIN PIGMENT in plants. Quite common in many species if I recall from horticulture studies. With clones it shows you have roots and the plants vascular system is developing. The clone is feeding. Some varieties may not show this characteristic at all. The plants I grow do.

Anthocyanins (also anthocyans; from Greek: ἀνθός (anthos) = flower + κυανός (kyanos) = blue) are
water-soluble vacuolar pigments that may appear red, purple, or blue according to pH.

I'm reading it, here's the first line ^^^

What does "according to ph." statement mean?
I've never seen blue (thank god), I guess red could be purpleish.
And I'm not saying you're wrong.

My clones rarely are purple, and purple stem appears
only after the plants go, "into the light", HID that is.
And they are not purple strains.

Funny but when I get red stem, I'm thinking the PH is wrong.
This usually happens when, as I recall, I get
too hot with the mix... lockout/deficiency is my thinking..
but at the same time I 'am' adjusting ph.
I never thought of it that way.

Thanks, I think.. purple just doesn't sit right with me.

Purple stem usually not good. Some strains are more purple than others, but stems going more purple usually some sort of stress. Older fan leaves stems go purple, this isn't a problem and normal.

That medium kinda looks like fried rice. :joint:

It's actually SPHAGNUM MOSS. The first time I tried it I got 92% strike rate, this time 62 clones, 100%. I normally clone in coco or Jiffy pellets but decided to try something different. All my clones develop this purple/red trait that eventually fade. The plants grow normally to maturity. I do SOG'S.
