Great looking plants HourseMouth, bummer about the pollen. There is a great thread on pollen storage here, look at post 20 on page two for cool, color-changing silica balls.

hello from a swiss guy

hello from a swiss guy

Hello,

I have been following your thread from the beginning. I found it while searching information on the purpurea ticinensis from Felix (owl's), since I have only heard great things about that strain and since I live and grow in Switzerland I am very much looking forward to growing it (next year).
The other reason you caught my interest is that I was fortunate enough to live in Sandy/OR for 1 year at the age of 16 (Mount Hood). Ever since I am in love with Oregon, and altough more then 20 years have passed there is not one day where I don't think back and still dream of maybe moving there one day.
One of the main reasons I loved Oregon so much is the phenomenal fishing and great landscape in general, Switzerland is nice but way too crowded (there is virtually no land available compared to the population, according are the prices and size of properties...)
So the combination of Swiss strains grown in Oregon combines two very much loved subjects in my life.
I am eagerly awaiting your updates, and also do have some recommondations for you, since I agree with you that Oregon's climate is very similar to the Swiss climate.
I understand that you live in Eastern Oregon, so you have less moisture then we do, but anyhow I think that it was very smart of you to check out Swiss genetics.
I have one very serious recommendation for you concerning the best Swiss outdoor strain:
I is called "Erdbeerli" and I think Esbe (the great danish grower who is very actively working with Purpurea Ticinesis, I think you know him thru here) worked with "Erdbeerli" as well.
Besides Purpurea Ticinensis, the "Erdbeerli" (strawberry in english) is probably the best outdoor strain ever from Switzerland.
It does perform so great here, that its attributes made it one of (if not the) most legendary and popular outdoor strain in Switzerland.
The problem with that strain is, that around 2002 (when Police started to bust the so far liberal swiss breeder scene) very many genetics got lost thru police seizures, incl. the Erdbeerli.
Since then the original strain is only sold underground as cutting.
Since cutting is no option for you, I know that there is one swiss breeder (Green Hornet), who does have Erdbeerli seeds which are the closest to the original genetics (thats what I heard from many different sources, but didn't grow it myself so far).
I will be getting those Green Hornet seeds (before they might disappear or sell out) and let you know next year how they perform. I will plant them along with original cutting to be able to compare.
P.S. The "erdbeerli" from Green Hornet seeds is called "Original strawberry" i think.
One last question I have for you, can you let me know how the "Owl's skunk" is performing so far? I am interested if they would finish early enough and if they are mold resistant (I live in northern Switzerland, around 47,5 N).

Please excuse my long essay, there were too many things to talk about ;-)

Best greetings from a homesick wish-to-be-Oregonian

George

Laudanum,

You ALWAYS have a place to stay in Oregon when you make it back. I read your post to my wife and we were both so happy to know their are other like minded people in the World. ICMag has had a great impression on me concerning the quality ppl. in the world that I had NO IDEA were out there. A little OverCast today, so perfect for picture taking!

First up Black Box Diesel shots, Only 1 more week to go! Today is day 63.

Heaven #3.

Heaven #2.

Purple T. #8

Close up Purple T. #8

I have 4 Owl's Skunks, 2 in the HoopHouse, 2 Outside.

I was able to pollinate a Diesel about 3 weeks ago with some Purple Ticinensis pollen. Fingers crossed for sure.

Laudanum - Again thanks for the great post, I've cloned everything Owl's Production I'm growing right now. I went to Green Hornet and couldn't find any Erdbeerli, original strawberry, or Strawberry. I would Happily start working on beans for next year if you catch any wind of these seeds.

Weekly Updates are what everyone can expect!

See you all soon

Peace

holy shit that erbeer farm looks great! Love those short bushy plants. Those black box diesels have some HUGE dank buds..awsome!! What is the strain lineage of the black box diesel, is it just a special diesel or is it a diesel cross?

IqTyq- That Erdbeer Farm is Jaw Dropping, and what I would give to get a whiff of those Swiss Strawberries.

The Outlaw Tree- When I got the 2 cuttings in April I was just told 'Diesel', and '70 days'. I took them down today on Day 68. Milky white Ticomes and few Amber ones.

Here they are this morning. I'm not a good photog, So I took one with the flash and one without, on Macro.

I'll completely Disassemble the Black Box.

Hope all's well on everybodies home turf!

Really Makes me smile to have you guys/gals checking in and sharing. Love this IcMAg.

Hey all. Quick Update pics:

The Black Box disassembled, The raised bed is all that's left, we'll plant Garlic this Fall, also a little clover for some green manure to ensure another good year with the existing soil.

Purple Ticinensis #8. Can't believe I can grow this mostly Sativa at 44.5 N Latitude and 3,800 feet elevation, but here it is. Thanks again Felix and Owls Production.

Here's an Owl's Production Skunk, As tall and as wide as one of my Lodgepole sided Cabins

Heaven #3, then a much faster pheno of Heaven.

The Fastest of the Fast, and the Flintstones Vitamins Smelling Purple FX. At this point, it's not a very good yielder (I have one of the first pheno's from 6 years ago), but the smoke it delightful.

General tall boy shot of the Hoophouse

What a summer, I've learned so much from ICMagers.

Thanks for all the Support,

Peace

Those diesels look fantastic, HM - really, really well done! They look a lot like the original Daywrecker I haven't seen around the bay area in at least a couple years - whatever the case, just gorgeous.

Garden looks great wanted to ask you more about Owl seeds. Never heard of them and after reading your post did some research. As a Midwest guerrilla I am always looking for strains that fit my climate.

A potent strain that finished Sept15 - Oct 1 would be right up my ally. I read owls Purple Ticinensis was potent and very mold resistant sounds too good to be true. We have hot humid summers and rainy falls here in the Midwest. I never go by the breeders description some are good some are bad.

Tell me more about owl’s seeds and your experience with them?

Thats what I talkin' about HorseMouth. Killer PT. JUst found this site. Looking foreward to this season. One of mine may be finished at the end of the month. I think it may go longer though. This is a project I want to continue, as these genetics are so hard to obtain. Please save some seeds for me if you would? You've done a great job.

Peace Bro.

Garden looking good! The diesel finished gorgeous! Best of luck with the harvest mon :)
I grow crosses of PT this year. With Bangi Haze and ManitobaMediciene/GuerillaGold. The MMGG crosses are early, they should be done next week and the first of them was done in the last days of Aug. BH crosses some should be done by end Sept, some later. The PT smell seems very dominant. Anything that has even a quarter PT smells sweet and pungent. I love it. I've never had pure PT though. Let me know how they smoke. Looks like a lovely strain. The BHPT and especially the MMGGxBHPT are very potent. I'm looking forward to the BHxBHPT, as last years BH was very nice, up and social smoke.
I have some Diesel pollen so maybe I'll try and pollinate something...

Here a few mid Aug pics for color:

they are twice the size now an blooming nicely. Lot's of resin. I think PT is a good line for us northern growers. Resistant plant.

BHxBHPT from a week ago.

Cheers!

September 16th Update:

All is well. The Black Box Diesels' came out to 1.75 lb apiece. Needless to say I was shocked. Some of my patients have said it's the best they've ever gotten from me, and the others say it's right up there. (Different tastes, preferences and visuals always seem create a little variance). With that being said I've really got to credit a lot to ICMag in terms of how to amend the soil, visualize Black Box success and problem solving along the way.

On to the current full summer ladies.

HoopHouse Tall boy shot. I'll Black Box this entire structure next year.

Purple Ticinensis #8. Colas are 18 inches and longer. It is moving so fast I'm shocked when I stroll in.

Purple FX. This will be coming down in a couple of Days. Thanks to Area 101 6 yrs. ago for entrusting this to me.

I walked into the Greenhouse, and saw this large Praying Mantis lady laying this Egg Sac on some Bamboo sticks. She's been around ALL summer, battling spiders, eating bugs and mating I guess.

Best of Luck to all my Grower Families out there.

Peace

Hello all,

It's Sept. 26th

I've got my wives camera and it's slightly better then mine.

Here's a pic of a Skunk that's turning Purple. Lots of Crystals, and mostly clear/cloudy, so I'm still looking at a few days. Felix wasn't messing around when he bred this early skunk pheno.

Another Skunk. And a quick note. These were extras that didn't fit in the HoopHouse. So they went directly into the ground under a Juniper Tree. Junipers are notorious nutrient suckers, so I'm pleased with these all the way. They did great with no Soil amendments.

Purple Ticinensis #1. A delight for sure

HoopHouse top shot. The Purple FX already down and is drying nicely, Almost ready to start trimming her. That what the gap is BTW.

More Pics at the end of the week.

Peace.

Congrats from Switzerland

Congrats from Switzerland

Hello Horsemouth,

after a longer break from the net it was a nice surprise to see that your own seeds resulted in a nice and healthy specimen :tiphat:
Best wishes to you and your family from us!

Your plants look nice as well, I am especially surprised to see Owl's Skunk to be so far in bloom by end of september, I have some of them seeds laying around and am now very much looking forward to next year, when I will try them out here in Switzerland. Very cool to have an early finishing skunk!

I wish you and your plants a nice finishing time without mold (which shouldn't be to big of a problem where you are at, although the altitude might make it more humid then lower down?),

warm greetings,

laudanum
