Attention Ebb and Grow Professionals! PLEASE HELP

T

I have my mind set on getting the 12 pot (2 gallon each) ebb and grow system... and have a few questions for all you experienced in the system.

Mainly

Is the solution suppose to be the same as hydro?

How often do you flush the neuts?

Is it true you can veg up to 3 and 1/2 feet with the 2 gallon buckets?

Do you need separate buckets for veg and flowering?

Sorry if some/all seem like stupid questions. I've tried hard on my own to find the answers... Hoping you trained professionals could help. Thanks!!!

I have been using the exact system for the past 3.5 years.

Is the solution suppose to be the same as hydro? I use GH flora series, slightly different ratios than lucas. Always changing thing, just need to read the girls and figure out what they want.

How often do you flush the nutes? I am not quite sure if you mean flushing with plain water or simply draining the reservoir and starting with a fresh solution. So I will just give you answers to both. :) I flush the plants for the last 7-9 days of flowering.

The reservoir has a vegetative solution in it for 2 weeks of 18/6, then gets changed to a fresh vegetative solution that gets some bloom nutrients added to kick start the flowering process. That solution remains in the reservoir for another 2 weeks. After the 2 weeks of being 12/12 the reservoir once again gets changed, but all vegetative nutrients are eliminated. Once I get to this point I make it a priority of mine to change the reservoir on a weekly basis. However, if you need to conserve on nutrients you can safely get away with leaving it for multiple weeks being that GH is mineral based and there really isn't anything that will spoil or cause extreme bacterial growth.

Is it true you can veg up to 3 and 1/2 feet with the 2 gallon buckets? Once again not quite sure what you mean. Do you mean keeping the plants under a 18/6 + schedule until they are 3.5 ft or do you mean total stretch from beginning to end?

For me I let the plants get to about 10-12" in height, more importantly though I am looking for a certain number of branches that are starting to form a canopy. By the time they are done stretching in flower they usually will end between 3.5-4ft in height. The bottom 8-10 " are trimmed away to help improve airflow below the plants and also to remove any popcorn producers. My canopy is typically between 30-35" thick.

I use 6 buckets per 1,000w light. I easily hit 3.5-4.5lbs per grow depending on the strain.

Hope that helps you. Also if you are interested in watching a grow in progress with this system you can visit my galadriel thread.

The E&F bucket part begins at post #85. I only ever run clones in these buckets.

Mule........I`d liketa apologize for bein an asshole , I just have a hard time sittin back on bad info........

Don`t mean ta sound like it`s my decision whether folks grows are up ta snuff , cuz there`s many ways ta skin a cat and peel an onion.........

What I see you`ve done makes me feel a lil better bout your plants , so good luck and get more light........lol........

I`m guilty of tryin ta show the optimum conditions for doin setups identical to what I ran for yrs........There`s a big difference in fun than payin the bills and that`s why I`m so cranky bout some things.........

Instead of talkin bout it`s fine ta grow 5 footers with horizontal lighting , and mislead buncha folks , I think it could`ve been worded better on your side about veggin em to 3 1/2 ft before the flip , and you triedta explain why you did that by wizzin through the thread and not readin all words of each post and that set me off even more......

Just old head over here that`s been on the boards since `95 when weedsites began tryin ta help folks do it right the first time , instead of makin all those costly mistakes I made over the yrs till dialin shit in........

Again.......Good luck and sorry for the rant........

Peace..DHF.........:ying:........

Man It's all good we all get cranky. And YES I went way too long on all my plants before the flip. Like I said I read his post as end up with 3 footers. IMHO a canopy should be 48" thick max! If I was growing just for smokers yes by all means 30"-36" is they way to go. The fluff adds a little weight for the Chi pet collective BBQ brownie fund :jump:And understand all about paying the bills bro. It sucks... Wears a good man down!

And my room is getting more lights. The hoods wanted to rip the light mover off the ceiling so I backed off to try and empty part of the room before next cycle so I could beef it up... I still have 3 or 4 more hoods for that room. And major changes coming up...
Undercurrent scrog or as I said that defol looks promising, after I read up on it, and in a UC I think I could kill it...

A couple my peeps came over last night freaked out when I told em I'm going rip all the leaves off our plants... LOL They saw the first two cleaned up and looking good... So we all filled 2 more buckets with leaves... :jump::artist:

Yeah we all do. DHF knows his shit. My feeling is if I'm gonna spend the time, energy and $ to grow I want it to be the best it can be quality wise and harvest the most I can while still enjoying the process.

Yeah Mule with a few tweaks your yields will go up and you can take care of your friends even better :)
