That's my point. That the poor will be discriminated against.

The poor have been and will always be discriminated against. If everyone embraced poverty and loved their fellow man like that dude in the beard on the tree suggested, we'd have no poor!

But nobody wants to do that. Everybody wants to be selfish and special and make the 'right' decisions for everyone else.

And as long as that's the case, the poor are going to be there as a stick to go with the carrot of fame and fortune.

So let's go ahead and legalize weed, mmmm'kay?

An on-site consultant could be available to help you maximize yields and help you prevent any mishaps since it would be to the advantage of the business that you achieve a successful grow and you could also meet other growers from the establishment that might want to share/trade clones and seeds with you whilst imparting the knowledge that will help you grow better and more efficiently as time goes by......

Please stop reading my business plan aloud to the class.

I'm not sure if any of you have lived in Central Valley but the area isn't very liberal and there could be blanket discrimination supported by the Property rules.

I think it is pretty funny how you keep making the point about how conservative the central valley is. If you want to get into the red part of California, you need to go north about 300 miles! You guys are way too close to major population areas to be really conservative. After all, it is California.:)

prop 19 and 215/sb420 friendly Apt complexes. I see a huge potential here for potential safe growing complexes. Build a 25 apt complex for people that use cannabis legally. provide space in ea apt. For rent 1 br 1 bath friendly cannabis growing community inquire within for details.

Well.....I think that all of us that have grown indoors, within a residence know of all of the potential pitfalls and problems that this can cause the property...

I have grown in small apartments before and have had to cope with gallons of spilt nutrient that leaked thru to the apartment below, dodgey balasts that almost caused a fire, faulty exhaust systems, burst pipes, leaky drippers, carbon scrubbers that suddenly quit (so creating alot of odour)....

..and many landlords have had to suffer the ill effects of renting their properties to someone that they did not initially know would be growing within what was rented as a residential/living space.......and not as a cannabis garden.....

Not to mention that known residences used for growing might then be required to get additional (expensive) insurance coverage, and note the intended use in rental contracts (which might now fall under commercial, not residential use, depending on the nature and size of the grow - which leads back to zoning issues), in a legal cannabis environment, especially if one wants to recoup losses from major accidents. The two quickest ways to destroy a property traditionally are 1) Water and 2) Bugs. Growing subjects a property to at least one of these, in addition to everything else GN mentioned above.

Deciding who's at fault/if the insurance co. is actually required to pay, whether the landlord had prior knowledge of the operation, and such then falls under contract law, intent, negligence, and all the rest. I'm sure many landlords would deny existence of the grow op simply to save money on insurance and 'stay off the books'. If incidents occur, repairs (or rebuilding the structure and/or loss of life, worst-case) would entirely be on them.

Once the insurance actuaries run the numbers, I'm sure they'll find a reason for the company to charge for it - and it won't be cheap. Someone's standard liability/accidental death/loss of limb insurance for occupants may very well become null and void otherwise. The insurance co's primary goal is to find reasons not to pay ALL claims in order to increase company profits.
-----

Having purpose-built commercial spaces for such activity might work fairly well, as you suggest. Some would lose the convenience of having the op in (perhaps their primary) residence; then it simply becomes a job where you go to a separate location to work. Which is how any business should treat their livelihood - with serious intent, planning, and resource management - of capital, materials, methods, and the people involved (leverage).

For the last couple of years a Bay Area coop has been renting space to members to timid to set up.They sell their clones on CL.

I can see that a land lord could allow some and deny others depending on how they feel today. I would rather have them place that in a contract then to cite Prop 19 that they can do as they please any time.
I don't see prop 19 specifying the terms of this approval or disapproval and in fact I wonder if this will allow by law the right to disallow medical people gardens in rentals.

I was reading the Prop 215 didn't go as far as authorizing gardens on rental property and this will give the Property owners the right to stop medical people wouldn't it?

Prop 19 could create a wave of crack downs on peaceful medical people.

so where is your campaign to stop land owners from "discriminating against "pet owners?" Come on man. Your taking the pseudo intellectual title to new heights.

You aren't doing anyone a favor by taking outlandish points and trying to justify them with volumes of rhetorical b.s. WHo cares if its a bill or not, you dodged every question. Give me your legal framework that works.
The contract is the best solution. If your landlord won't let you keep a garden or a pet, FIND a new landlord. This is america. You have choice. Its up to you to choose. Not to expect the government to mandate a dangerous and destructive activity on other people's property.

This is fear mongering disguised as some sort of patriotism.

You are a joke and you killed this thread.

my two cents.

You know what would be really unfair jack?
Telling property owners they had no say in what kind of activities their rental property could be used for.

If you'd put 1/4 of the energy you use turbo posting lame excuses into developing a plan for cashing in on 19 when it passes, you'd be a rich man in no time.

It's coming jack, nothing you can do about it, so instead of sitting here crying all day, start making a plan, or you will be left behind and out of work when no one wants your $60 1/8s anymore.

A massive load of lemons is coming, we're all busy building lemonade stands, what are you doing?

This is what most smart people have figured out. We dont need our potential lemonade competition to jump on this bandwagon. It's getting pretty full. I would rather those people be the ones left behind in the dust, wishing they had spent their time doing what we are doing.
