Greedy and/or ignorant people are the only ones who would vote no.

Why shouldn't I be able to grow my own good smoke for pennys on the dollar instead of paying out my ass for a plant? Because you want $40 an eight? I say fuck off.

It's fucking ridiculous. You people who vote no are in my opinion pieces of shit. You can take that to the bank.

Dear Friends of Hemp and Cannabis,

Our father, Jack Herer, was a man of leadership, compassion and idealism. He worked relentlessly for decades to achieve his dream of legalizing Cannabis hemp in all its forms, personal, medical and industrial. He wanted Cannabis to be free and open, and to be given full respect for its enormous economic, environmental and cultural benefits.

As an idealist, Jack was adverse to half measures. He originally opposed Prop 215 because it stopped at medical use only. He initially opposed Senate Bill 420 because it set limited quantities as a safe harbor. Over time, however, he came to appreciate the freedoms they created, and took pride in the role he played in inspiring those changes. Jack’s great fear about Prop 215 and SB 420 was that people would accept those limits, become complacent and stop working for full legalization. He feared we would be stuck with medical use forever.

Likewise, Jack railed against Tax Cannabis 2010, now Proposition 19, and its plan for limited legalization and local authority to tax and regulate marijuana sales to adults 21 and above. It falls far short of what he wanted. Jack ‘wanted it all,’ and Prop 19 is just a part of that dream. Unfortunately, Jack passed away before Prop 19 made the 2010 ballot; so many people think he would still oppose it. We don’t believe that, and we ask that everyone stop saying he would cling to that position as we move toward the Nov. 2 vote.

As his family, we want the world to know that the last thing Jack Herer would want is for Californians to vote to keep Cannabis illegal. He was smart and had the political savvy to know that once a measure is on the ballot, the time for bickering has passed. That is why he campaigned for Prop 215 despite its shortcomings. That is why, were he able, he would now be telling voters to rally around and Vote Yes on Prop 19.

Does that mean he would want everyone to stop and be happy with the modest changes that Prop 19 affords? Absolutely not! What Jack would want us to do right now is to support Prop 19, and come Nov. 3 he would be right back again, telling you to renew your commitment to bring a comprehensive California Hemp and Health Initiative to the voters in 2012 or some future date. Jack Herer would ask – no, he would demand your yes vote on Prop 19, along with a pledge to continue fighting for the plant, the people and the planet.

It is true that Prop 19 does not fulfill our father’s dream; but it takes us much closer to achieving it than we are now, and for that reason we, his family, endorse Prop 19 today.

Please vote yes on Prop 19 Nov 2, but do it with the dedication to keep working toward complete legalization in Jack’s honor.

Sincerely, Dan Herer et al.

I have noticed that the Dispensary will buy the schwag because they make more money off of it. They buy it cheep and sale it for 100% markup or more. They only carry the good stuff for there own use. I was watching these 2 guys 1 had brick from Mexico and the other had pretty decent outdoor smelled and tasted great. The buyer wanted the brick and tried to get the better outdoor for the same price i could not believe it. These are the people that are giving all of the dispensary's bad reputations. Don't buy that crap that makes it over her from Mexico. We can grow product just as bad for the same price there is no reason to buy that stuff. If peopel are really more interested in lower grade cannabis why buy it from the cartels .Anyone can grow that. Sorry for the rant I JUST COULD NOT BELIEVE MY EYES

thats hilarious and i believe it. once at this hollywood club, this "buyer" looked me straight in the eye and told me all of their bud was had from nor cal indoor grows and bought for 1500 a p. straight faced. shit on the board was no less than 55, highs at 70. the bud was mediocre. point is, that line must have tricked some poor idiot into selling his bud for 1500.

Here's my 2 cents....

Folks in California finally get a chance to take a step in freeing the wonder-weed, vote yes in November, and follow through as time rolls forward.

The simple truth is with cannabis prohibition is protecting multinational drug manufactures and others who reap enormous profit from it's continuance and fear the yes vote simply because they will lose the legal protection of their market monopolies and tax free incomes from those who traffic pot with the increased risks reflected in the street prices.

For God's sake take the violence out of the equation, when people can grow in 25' square and a million are doing it, it only stands to reason the supply has increased and demand has decreased....thus forcing illicit sales prices to drop.

Overgrow the gang-bangers !

From what I understand the people who are carded with a Doctors prescription and those who provide mmj to them are exempt from proposition 19 anyway. Those retired folks who want to supplement their social security can do so and grow out 2 trees a year in your climate...a couple grand extra a year might go a long way putting an extra steak or two on their dinner plates.

Expand on grow areas and plant/bud limits after you pass this thing later but get your foot in the door before those who want prohibition to continue get to keep lining their pockets at your expense.

Legalize, regulate and tax cannabis in all it's forms and diverse uses.

I just wish we here in Canada had the perfect climate you in California do to grow our buds.

We have to. I want to be a private person and develop strains. I might start a business but this is a dream come true to grow Cannabis. I was born in 1961 so it's been a long road with this for me.

Also here is a video showing Richard Lee and Oaksterdam and Venice Beach..

lol venice beach. avoid the kush doc! that link is um.. disturbing.

basically theyre saying that if a city decides to not tax cannabis, then they must close down the existing med dispensaries? crazy.

"To date the cities of Oakland (the home or Proposition 19), Sacramento (The State Capital), Long Beach, and Berkeley have announced proposals to tax medical marijuana in order to keep their medical marijuana dispensaries from being shut down should Proposition 19 pass."

Meanwhile, several cases are working through the courts challenging medical marijuana bans, moratoriums, and regulations which are de facto bans, as discriminatory and in violation of California's medical marijuana laws. Passage of Prop 19 will remove any legal basis for these cases.

if this is true, then im on the fence.

Thats all just a load of shit. They are taking refrences from a THOUROUGHLY DEBUNKED article written by peron's henchwoman dragonfly in an attempt to misguide voters. Chris Conrad went through that entire article and blasted every comment she made with the actual language from 19.

Thats the difference here. The opposers are SPECULATING what they think will be interpreted, and we are pulling direct language from 19 to show that they have either misunderstood the proposition or are intentionally misguiding voters for their own personal agenda.

Because really, how many people will still want to go and buy from a dispensary, when you can goto a pot shop and not need to act like you have some serious condition to enjoy cannabis?

215 will be great for those who still want to grow more than the 5x5 alloted, but when you have people like Peron fiercly trying to shoot 19 down, its obvious the reason why....

Hell even Glenn Beck wants to legalize marijuana!!! I think i just got more respect for this deuche!!!

A couple months ago we were at Venice beach. We noticed the Kush Beach House, showed our rec and checked it out. They had some really great top self and a nice hash bar with a cutie holding the torch for ya. Then they have a sitting room over looking the boardwalk with tinted glass. A real nice place to take a break from walking and medicate. They even let you bring in your own. I found it much more relaxing than smoking in my car at the parking lot, which is what we did when we first got there.

Also...for those that don't know Venice Beach is a special place. It is also pretty much the only place you will see Dr.'s sending people out into crowds to get them to sign up. So the 5 or so Docs in Venice are now being represented as the norm in the movement...lol

no im talking about the dr. they overcharge for their recs. i used to work on the boardwalk lol i know all the regulars. unique place. the place across from muscle beach usually has some good quality too, overpriced but good, and a hash bar too. i rushed there in traffic for their 420 special, got signed in as they were closing, they sent me up and then refused to serve me. i dunno why ive never been in the house on the beach though. i'll have to check it out.

I think that the NO's on Prop 19 are looking for a panacea as far as policy on cannabis is concerned.....and quite honestly that is not going to happen...

We have this guy in a wheel chair with a million bucks or more.... who put up this Prop 19 in the first place......and by it's passing (if that does actually happen).....it will throw a HUGE spanner in the works of of all the prohibitionists, the LEO's and their penal/judicial systems that have made serious coin from busting, victimizing and incarcerating cannabis users and growers for well over half a century.......and still continue to, to this day.....

The passing of this proposition will give a GREEN LIGHT to the rest of the world to potentially follow suit.......and if it does not pass then we could all be going backwards as far as getting cannabis legalized......and it will probably not ever happen within my lifetime......and I have waited......and waited....and waited to see something like Prop 19 happen within Babylon itself.......Oh it's not perfect, but it is definatly a big step in the right direction........

....so PLEASE!......if you can vote on this Proposition 19...(I can't).....VOTE YES!

The Polls are holding at 50%+ so it looks very solid.

The Question is just what will Prop 19 do.

Some honest questions have been raised.

There may be an impact on medical growers. Taxes for one.
