Youve came so far, dont stop now. You want the budsites to get as direct light as possible. Just keep it up, remove fan leaves, not growth tips.

unfortunately there still in veg and will remain so for a further 11days,atm they piggy back the plants in 12/12 and then get 4 more hours of light under a floro,i cannot afford financially to run 2x400 grow rooms,also heat becomes an issue as well,
they will get 1 more round of defoil in around 5 days time,then will be left to grow for 5 days in a wilma system,and then they will go into flower,i intend to leave them alone for the fist 10/12 days of 12/12,at this point i intend to remove a few leaf,bend/twist most of the branches,and install some form of netting.

Just like the others said, continue to defoliate as needed, whenever you cannot see the under canopy. And do not nip off growing tips. That will make them intolerably branchy.
Well, judging by your other results I'll leave the veg-prep to you. Whatever you're doing is working. Still a great example of intensive prep to produce many budsites. My worry is just as you said, size and branchiness can be overwhelming so I seek a balance for manageability sake. You're doing fine, carry on.

The vertical growth and crowding in this case may not benefit from defoliating. Still the lower development looks decent and I doubt it would be such if this many stalks were left leafy. I would use fewer plants in this given space and try to get them branched and spread. It's a tough call when you may desire several different strains and have just so much space. I see several single stalk plants. Nothing wrong with that. I just use this technique to create branches and sites from fewer plants.

try stripping it completely bare. It shouldnt hurt the growth in 1 week flower, but as said and repeated a few times, the best bet is to do this technique from a vegetative state so you might be half way there

This is my first grow, three weeks into veg from clones, looking great. I read this thread a few days ago and immediately started picking leaves, nothing major, and then noticed that the plants were getting bushier, and I would trim more, and they would get even bushier... very impressive. I'm close to switching into flower, this morning I trained everything a little more,
and tonight I see they've filled out nicely, a little too nicely.
Moisture everywhere from leaves resting on one another. So I did a hardcore defoliation.
We'll see how things turn out! I'm feeling hopeful.

oh they have been defoliated the whole time, the point is its nott good to do unless you start in veg. You must not have seen my earlier post on top of this page. im really not to worried my partner freaked tho lol. he haS BARELY BUT 1 TIME SEEN THEM STRIPPED IN VEG. sorry didnt mean to yell .
look Im not trying to be a jerk but you shouldnt tell people what you did me. If i hadnt known about starting in veg i could possibly be screwed. the whole post has emphasized not to start this in flower. be careful what you say is my point. its not a good thing to totally strip your plant in flower. If you dont have the branches that you form by doing this in veg you could be screwed.

Has anyone tested defoliation with a sog style quick grow or would that be counterproductive?
Just wondering because I will have either 30-40 girls in a 4x4 with a 600 and want as much light penetration as possible with the least branching possible..
Any thoughts?

im not sure about the sog but unless you wrote it wrong you said 'with the least branching possible" well thats what this technique does it make it massivly bushy. So if you dont want massive branchiness dont do this.
