squeezing buds while they are in flower - yes/no ?

I know some who can't help but squeeze the buds. To cup a feel.
To each and there own. What does it really harm? Surely it does harm, but does the average smoker really give a shit? I've met many who will take a bud and cram it into a little fucking ball. Some who leave a bag out on the table to dry out. Mexicans who compress the shit out of it and leave it to mold in bags. Jamacians who dry it in a heap out in the sun.
Personally, I am anal regarding weed. I pride myself on it. I store it in glass in a cool, light free area. I don't cram the buds. I protect the trichomes. I cure it.
Meh. Perhaps on this forum I am among like minds, and yet, in life, most don't share my love for preserving the best. Most hardly recognize the difference.

st0ne, while I agree about perserving the best of buds, you have to remember that it is a plant, a sturdy strong plant. We are not growing orchids here. They can handle a little pinch here and there.
I will admit, I am a pincher. I like to pinch my buds just a tiny bit to get a good smell. I still produce fine smoke and I doubt you could tell which bud I pinched or not when it is dry and cured.
I wouldnt say I squeeze my buds bud I do pinch then a little to see how the density is coming along. Just a slight pinch should be enough to tell if the buds are dense of fluffy. I try not to do it too much after I pinch it and its dense I leave it alone cuz its not going to get less dense from that point on.
It does give a real nice smell though when you rupture some of the trichs you can get a real good idea of what the bud will smell like broken up.

you don't need to squeeze , just run your hand over the buds gently and you get the same smell without handling the buds too much . personally i don't think it harms em too much either way unless your heavy handed

I've heard a lot of crap like that from old time growers. Some of them amaze me at how wrong they are. They grow weed, and have been for decades, but yet they don't grow half as nice of a plant as I do (been growing for 7 years) and they always do dumb crap like the original poster said. Squeeze that fawker and smell it! Spray those buds down with water, makes em bigger! Give it some miracle grow, that'll make em huge... I'm like WAHHHH?? Hell naw! None of that, my plants are too nice for that business. No squeezing or spraying of the buds. I'd end up with some moldy ass buds in a hurry. Really, something is not right with some of the older growers I've met. I just wanna say, you guys suck and your growing abilities and beliefs are bs. So many of em like to start trying to give tips or start telling me about some strain that is supposed to be so good but it's total crap that isn't even a real strain. Glad I did my homework on OG back in the day and I'm glad I know what genetics are good. I look at some of the oldies and just shake my head now days.

Pinching the buds definitely increases the smell. That being said however, I rub the stem and that gives a smell unique to that strain and is a good way to start fine tuning your cannabis nose. Also bending the plant (pulling on a leaf/stem) exposes more surface area of the bud allowing more terpenes to volatilize (since they volatilize at low temps: sometimes in the low 70's IIRC) This is another way to harmlessly get a good whiff.

no pinchy. there are more than enough trichs on arrow leaves of the buds, you dont even need to squeez the leaf. brush your nail on it and you will see the fresh trichs destroyed on your nail and it smells identical to the flower. It takes a few weeks till after trichs show up to get a good sniff of what the strain smells like.
I know a fool who jacks off his stems during veg and flower to cop a smell, stems dont smell like the flower though they do smell really stank..especially if you smell your fingers after a supercrop this dude also groped his buds like a pervert gropes an ass.

I'll rub a bud to get the smell, it's really no big deal. Trichs are not brittle while growing they will just stick to the plant or your fingers if disturbed. You wont miss that hundred or so trichs in the end. Now if someone really honks on one of my colas I'll eject them immediately. No need to compress or damage plant material.

I use a pair of pliers and a mini sledge to feel my girls lol. Just playing I do know a fellow grower who sqeezes every bud he smells on the plant or off. I do do a density check lightly everyonce in a while

HAHAHAHA I love walking out of my room and having my Chest hair sticky and Smelling like CandyI generally dont need to Squeeze the buds Caus I am rubbing against them alot while watering and just being in the room....
Plus ... I know I have dense Buds .... Duhh
Not gonna smoke any of your buds... all covered in man hair
