ear wig traps my grandad used to make them you get garden cane cut it into pieces of about4 inchs and tie them to your stem, then in daytime you go and tap them out all the earwigs hide in the hole through the middle in daylight, it saves spraying

Us old gardeners also stuff a flower pot with straw (poss crumpled newspaper) turn it upside down & place on a cane 1ft-18in high , tap the buggers out in the morning & either go through the laborious process of killing them individually or tap the pot out in a decent tin can & torch .

Stay green .

how do you think i will get on if i put my plant in my summerhouse infront of the glass door it also has two biggish windows on either side. it gets sun all day.
its a 14 week sativa i think the summerhouse will be better than the greenhouse because its made of wood and wont be so humid so mould should stay away.
can any1 straighten me out its my fiirst outdoor grow i know its a bad plant but its what ive got and its huge 6 foot plus and it triples in size during flower.
does it do the same as it would indoors with regards to strech rate in flower.
it would be a shame to not do everything in my power to make her finish.
the bud grows real airy indoors so im hoping that means it will resist mould is this true or am i way off. its pest resistant because all the plants around her have been munched to death but she has not a scratch. please hellp me out guys ive so many questions thankyou

problem is i cannot visit in the day. i can slow their progress for a few days by spraying, but thats about it.

hey everyone!

hey everyone!

Still having computer probs but i thought i would post a update on my seasons grow even tho i've got no pics...i do have some on a camera tho and will post them when i can :)

Well in the end the Auto Island was a huge success! I ended up with 15 plants in the island and got about 17oz of nice frosty bud :dance013:

I harvested everything last week... I thought i may of lost it all as this August has been terrible weather wise! I've had loads of rain, humid days, no wind and i really feared the worst due to LR crosses being known for mould... But i think what saved me was the fact that nearly all the plants averaged 2.5-3ft in size. This meant the buds were nowhere near the soil level..

The same seeds in pots were only getting a foot high at the most. And these were single seeds planted directly into 10l pots... So i highly recommend that LR crosses should be planted in raised beds to get the most out of them. I planted directly into mine which is about 2ft deep. Once established i didn't even bother watering because the roots went all the way down.

I think if the weather had of been better i would have pulled a few more ounces...food for thought.

This was one seriously easy grow due to the fact that they pretty much looked after themselves. Thanks again WAM for the seeds, without your help this would never have happened :thank you:

I did get a few seeds from a couple of plants. I used a Auto MTF male and dusted the pre-flowers of a few plants so i have a few beans for next year...hopefully with a better August!!

Great to see many fine grows...i'll spread some rep around instead of writing more. Looking forward to watching the rest of everyones plants finish. Peace all and loads of respect, TPS :)

Hi TPS , so you got some bud in :) interesting point about raised beds , probably why they seem to do fairly well in a decent pot to .

still clear on the triches here & despite my sense of smell being bad i keep geting a strong sweetish smell off of this un .

watch out for light pollution though, from inside the house otherwise it might confuse the plant and delay things even further?

i bet it will still stretch like a mofo! no matter if its indoors or not.

the open bud structure will definately help with mold, but some sativas dont like cold feet (or buds) so the downside is they can mold from cold shock? keep the summer house warm and dry if possible, get a fan in there if the airs stale and humid?
ps when watering the plant dont over-water, keep a nice wet dry cycle going... put finger in top inch of soil, if dry, water. The idea with watering is to create what someone described as the fog, when the soil has the perfect balance between moisture and oxygen levels. A good watering regime will have all the water wicked up by the plant in 24hrs, as water sitting in the medium tends to go stagnant...

Smokes lovely !! bad news bud rot in 1 of them . I had 2 of these autos at 3ft heavy with bud & a couple of days back 3-4hrs after taking the pic i was having a look at the triches with my mag when i noticed a bit of rot in 1 of the plants & trimmed it out . I`d had some real heavy showers a few days b4 .. Fun on your rolling baccy coz of sticky fingers . Just b4 a heavy rain shower i found a great deal of moisture in the buds i trimmed for a quick dry & realised that this was an entirely different bud structure of the other plant .1 with rot has an almost indica bud structure under very sativa leaf & the other 1 has those lovely airy little sativa buds & no sign of rot ., I moved them both to the g-house & got the fan for a few hrs on them to dry them out , 24hr later found some more rot in the 1 plant . One really good smoke , doe`s a proper job . No sign of any rot in the other plant , gotta love a sativa bud .
Interesting point here ; these are from F2 of Zeds AAH , minis up to 4 or 5 with his autos but has anyone that grew the original F2 noticed the different budding & did they get the autos show up ? When i grew the F1 they turned out to shake wet weather off , lovely sativa buds with practicaly no bud-rot despite being a late finisher & a big plant , by big i mean out back are plants at 4ft 5ft 6-6in & 1 just under 8ft & another at 8-6in . Hell if they come good i`m gonna be feeling like this for a good while yet:laughing::)

from what ive gathered about breeding is in the f2's you will see all the random phenos pop up, like a mash up of all the traits...

do you think you've got one/some of these, this year?;

Some of these yes & no decent male !!!! but someone may be after clones , imagine autos at 4ft-5ft or even more .

Hey all, well i have now had to leave my plants for the best part of their flowering duration ... but i managed to semi-proof them against deer for a while before i left. I copied MJBadgers soap pocket idea (making little bags from nylon stockings with soap in to hang from my plants) ... i couldn't get any 'irish spring' soap ... so i went with 'shield' (like your missus said), and also some dettol antibacterial soap which really stank. So i made a few pockets per plant to hang from the main branches and cut up the rest to scatter around on the ground ... used about 7 bars in all.
Also sprayed my plants with the popular anti deer recipe of; water, eggs, chilli powder ect ... i infused the water with cloves, and added some hot paprika and lavender, rosemary and eucalyptus oils. Hopefully any attackers will suffer a numb mouth and streaming eyes for a while!
And i also scattered around the place more lavender, rosemary and eucalyptus oils, cloves, soap, chilli and paprika powders and a few litres of urine.

Also i hung from the plants pieces of thick string/rope infused with purfumes and oils.

I tell ya it really stinks to high heaven around my plants now! :)

Hello blue_berry__ :)

I'm also growing Big bang this year (guerilla), and it's going great here starting to flower!
I hope that it will stretch a bit... Mine is around 1m50 tall.

Keep up the good work

Peace :rasta:

ive got a big devil clone growing beside a big devil the now and it's started budding already and it looks really mint
i snapped it off by mistake so stuck it in my mouth and stuck it in the pot slightly under the big plant so its sheltered from the rain . here's a pic it was a couple of weeks ago so it looks better now ;)

dont you just hate bud rot, sativa autos are the way forward imo.

nice looking plants.

Auto's are not the way forward IMHO. They muddy up genetics and really offer nothing besides quicker flowering plants. They offer no THC potency (if anything they take away), no taste, minimal smell...get a real sativa or indica that's resistant to mold. Durban Poison is 100% sativa it finishes in 8/9weeks and is very resistant to mold, pm and pests. there are many strains out there that have great mold resistance. With that being said I'll add this. I see where one can run auto's with an advantage of keeping plants smaller, multiple harvests, harvesting before ripping season so I guess my only issue with auto's are the people...preserve the sativa's and indica's, the old school and the land races...because honestly at the rate hybrids and auto hybrids are coming out everything will be auto'd or hybridizied and thats a huge step backwards.

Sorry for the rambling!

ps: did that mini "clone" root? I did something similiar and it took nearly 4 weeks in the soil under a humidity dome at my guerrilla patch to root the bugger just to have a coon rip it up lol
