How/Why We Grow Our Own Pot

Let me start by saying that I am curious why we started growing pot. I' sure there are as many answers as there are members.

I have been growing since 2004. I had just been falsely imprisoned by the cops. Seriously though, they took and destroyed my car and without my car, I could not deliver pizza. That's when I started growing my own pot.

I grow my pot because it keeps me out of the city, away from the cops, and I like to think that by growing my own, I make America a little better. Growing pot for me was strictly financial. There is little if any commercial interest here. By growing my own pot, I save at least $3600.00 per year.

That's my story, can't wait to read all the other stories.

Have a great day!

Good job excellent post, sorry to hear about the cops taking your ride, shit happens for sure sometimes makes me wish we lived in a perfect world....

Growing pot is good for the economy , if your distributing it. If your smoking your own and not buying any I don't think your doing the economy any favor unless money is switching hands....

I save/make $40,000 a year by growing my own as it is now, by the time my operation is in full swing ill be making $286,720 a year, before taxes after taxes... id say around 125k a year thats still making a good living if you ask me....thats staying PROP 215 ca state legal too.... (96 plants, 8kw, 16 lbs ever 3 months 4 crops a year 4480 a lb /10 a gram ) not including expenses

I grow my own weed, because street prices are way too high. Ive always thought that its just a bag of plant material, it shouldnt cost 200 dollars for an ounce of quality stuff.

I share alot of my weed. Ive been known to give it away to friends because they are, my friends. I have lbs of the stuff and they have to pay these retarded prices for the shit. I enjoy putting hard work into making quality bud and giving it to people who I know appreciate it.

I also grow weed because its fun. Theres something about the cannabis plant that is just neat. Maybe its because its taboo, i dunno.

i also dont like to traffic narcotics. I dont like having to deal with the people that you have to deal with in order to make the cash Norcal is talking about. usually, I will jar up what I need for me and my friends for a year or more (a lb or two) and sell off the rest to one person, in one shot for real cheap, so it moves quick. Just to turn the grass into cash in the blink of an eye. Then I wash my hands and im done. Ive paid for the cost of manufacture and a ton of profit still. And I dont have to buy weed at 200 bucks an oz for a very long time.

Myself, I do it because every gram/ounce/lb I have grown is one I haven't paid for. IMO, personal growers do as much, if not more than leo to fight the crime associated with our plant.

After all, the dealers and their up-the-ladder bosses want our cash. Well they ain't getting mine if I can help it. Hence under my username "Outdoor self-provider". I am happy with money saved, I do not sell a single gram.

Have def. been known to share w/those who have been good to me in times of need tho. IMO cannabis should be grown and shared amongst friends. Phuck the money trade, sez Moe... :rasta:

I grow my own so that I can medicate myself properly. It's been a year starting from scratch but I'm nearly there.

$400-500/mo retail to 'sorta' keep me medicated..... can't imagine what it would cost to keep me PROPERLY medicated. I know I can grow enough, eventually.

If prohibition wasn't going on.... I'd just pick up a bottle of canna-pills from the local drugstore. Save me a lot of time and effort, that's for sure.

Nice! The most I've grow was 1/2 pound from 2 plants. Never had enough to cash in. However, I did get 40k+ from the city and county.

I started 25+ years ago with some fluorescents and a book called "The Edible Indoor Garden". I figured if I could get these damn orange trees to fruit keeping myself in greenery was going to be easy. These days it's a few HID lamps and just enough for the wife & me. Never did anything commercial. I did do a few large grows, but nothing crazy big. 6k was my top.

i grow cause i got a green thumb and to waste what you were put here to do is to put a bullet in your brain... or worse cause itll take longer to waste away...

I like to grow and I like to smoke, that's why I do them. Growing cannabis is especially fun (compared to many other plants) because its entire lifespan is so short so you see some kind of "progress" all the time...
