adding smell

does using orange peels or any other fruit rind or additive change the smell long term? Not the taste but the smell. I have some strong hay that tastes ok but the smell drags the bag appeal to zero. Any help appreciated. I know a cure is supposed to work but it just does not do it with this weed or at least this batch. I am just looking to give it a good odor and it does not have to be strong, just linger.

There is shit that you can buy at most head shops that will do it.Sounds like it got dry too quick.

I think its retarded as hell to try and modify the smell of herbs. It is what it is, stop trying to change the smell. No orange peels wont change the smell long term. Learn to properly dry and cure your herbs?

What you're asking is.. "how can I make my herb smell better so I can deceive people and trick them into buying my herb". Right?

no tricking here. its potent weed it just has no smell. I have not heard a complaint from anyone and I barely cover my costs doing this. I have been growing for 8 years and this is the first strain that has ever given me problems in this department. I just want to add a little fragrance. I see nothing wrong with that. Congrats on the non-smoking its a bitch, keep it up.

Did you flush properly? Sometimes when growing from seed and not knowing the flowering times, I have failed to flush a proper 2 weeks. Everytime the herb had the hay smell. I'm no expert, just a thought.

I think this time around your screwed on the smell, but for your future harvests, try only removing the fan leaves and dry slow. It helps flavor and smell.

Adding aromas to hay isn't tricking someone? Are you going to tell your loyal custies (I assume they are your friends or that they at least Think you are their friend) what you added to the mix to make it smell more like weed/fruit/skunk/fuel ? It's kind of hard to act like a humble grower just trying to recover costs while spewing things like Bag Appeal and Condoning the use of Possibly Harmful additives to make bunk smelling weed stinkier.

all right let me repeat and clear up what I am trying to do. I harvested a batch of weed which is gone that did not have any smell. i have 3 plants I just harvested that I am trying to dry and cure right. These are for me. I have grown for 8 years this is my first strain that I have had smell issues. Usually its clip and dry and curing just improved a smell already there. I want to add enhance fragrance that is slightly there. I do not want to do tasty puff I would like to add a fruit rind of some sort to enhance the smell that is there during the cure. If anyone has a problem with that fuck off and move on.

I also bought 2 oranges today and will work with the 3 plants that have been drying 5 days. The pheno has a lemony smell but I felt like eating oranges so i will try that.

will the organge actually do anything to help the smell though, thats the question I have. DO what you gotta do, but I wouldnt expect any great results, JMO.

we will see. it was weird last time i had two pieces of bubble gum that were very fragrant I dropped in to the curing 18 gallon tote for 30 minutes and everything around the gum smelt like the gum after that but i did not add more gum or keep it in there for very long so i do not know the effect. I did not try to smell each piece of bud to see if i could find the ones that were near the gum I was not that interested in the effects i could create with it, then.

I guess the whole point of this thread has changed. If wine and fine liquors can be enhanced by storing them certain ways, why can't marijuana? Steaks and other meats are seasoned or marinated or cooked certain ways to enhance them. That's all I am really trying to figure out.

just grow some more cannabis, try to do so properly this time...
#1 grow some good herb thats the most important factor
#2 learn about drying and curing...then you shouldnt have a problem with a hay smell or no smell.

I had to use every bit of my strength to not clown on you for trying to scent your herb with oranges and bubblegum....you should delete this thread and try to learn a thing or two from dextr0

thanks for the constraint. And i have not made a real attempt yet but i will. If you were to have a blueberry strain and use blueberry skins to help out I see nothing wrong with that. To each his own.
