Is it possible to do a sealed room with a window a/c unit or is there air exchange between the outside air and inside air?

Buzz is correct. Many small models will not have a fresh air vent and may not leak air from the cold side to the exhaust, although some cheap models may need to have some caulking done to insure there are no leaks.

Most units will have a fresh air vent that can be open or closed. This is an internal flap that will allow fresh air to mix in with the recirculating cold air. This will also let the cold stanky air leak to outside. These models are fine to use, but you need to glue and caulk the fresh air vent shut tight, and then remove the knob or the mechanism inside so it won't open again. Once that is done, the cold side air is a recirculating thing.

*take the cover off and get familiar with your unit.

Yeah, I have to take the cover off it to light proof it! God damm inside is all white styrofoam. When I'm in there I'll take a better look for possible vents.

Thanks.

It would be great to hear about your set-up, overbudjet. Or do you have a thread on it somewhere?

Overbudjet, would it be to much to ask for a write-up on the water-cooled a/c retrofit? or a link to the page in your thread where it is discussed?

P.S. Your grow is dope, I love automation, I'll get there one day.

Ive read alot on growing in a cge. And all the growers i know as well as myself agree that the air exchange is minimal. You just need to make an ac box on the back of that thing hooked up to an efficient exhaust fan
