How long does it take 1 person to trim 1 pound?

Like you said it depends of strain and crop. I grow kush and I like to have an almost perfect trim. It takes me about two days of 6-8 hours or one hellish day to do around a pound of indoor. I also like to trim dry because it keeps the smell of the bud. It does take longer to trim dry though. Wet is fast and easy but the buds kinda loose their odor and drying is a little more difficult (turning buds every couple of days).

I trim before dry cure, on average 2 to 3 ounces an hour. trim the large fan first, then smaller. i also use larger fabric cutting type scissors that when held an manuvered right i can trim multiple areas at one closing of the blades.

I been doing this a while,.....and I HATE trimming, but it needs to be done with an artisanal
eye, so I strip the big fan leaves off the plant while it's still in the pot, then I clip it down into large branches, which then get trimmed FULLY down into "nug sized" buds.

takes about 45-1hr per 36"-40" tall plant with roughly 2 z's per. (I usually grow 9 to 12 depending on that varieties yield, and growth characteristics)

total time will be about 8-10 hours, or one to two days work, depending on how motivated I am feeling.

my buddy will take 10 days to trim the exact same amount, I guess he enjoys trimming more than I do :D

simply equation to answer your Q

rate of scissor/hand speed x calyx/leaf ratio divided by the rate of scissor hash combustion/inhalation.

I can do a semi leafy strain about 25 2ft footers about ounce each, in about 2 hours.
Same 25 plants high calyx to leaf ratio takes about an hour.

Defoiled either high leaf or high calyx takes me about 1 minute per plant.

These are the initial trim and hang numbers.
They trim well and have good bag appeal.
But for finicky peeps it would require a second trim with very fine scissors.

Good luck!

I can trim about 1lbs in 40 minutes. You old farts have it rough. :D

or... maybe you are smoking too much while you are doing it. Those puff breaks sure do cut into the time. hehe

Every year from outdoor harvest I usually get 1-3 pounds dry bud depending on outdoor factors such as fucking budrot/mold.

By myself I trim fresh harvested bud sitting in an organized work area with everything I need such as food, drinks, smokes, bong, pipe, papers, string, clothes hangers, trashbags .. etc, etc.

Once I start I can't stop. Usually takes me 4 good hrs and that's with being high as hell throughout. :)

Every hr or so I'll chug a drink, inhale some food and take some quick tokes, then back 2 business as to not mess up my groove.

a pound takes me around 9-12 hours (around 50g per hour), I trim everything to coffeeshop standard and remove not only the leaves but the leaf stems as well (all of them, no matter how small)... I'd be interested to see the state of a bud that was part of a pound trimmed in 40 minutes.. if you mean by hand...

I sometimes wonder if they have scissors in some places when I see other peoples trim jobs...not suggesting anyone here is doing a crap job though... ;)

edit - might it be a nice idea for people to post pics of their trimmed buds? then we can see how the time taken compares with the finished article... :)

It looks like sparkling little gems of yumminess. :D I exaggerated obvisouly for comical purposes. A pound would probably take me about 1.5-2 hours. All my buds are treated well and get a thorough haircut before hitting the sweating bags.

i rough pluck fan leaves as i hang dry a min or twp per 4 foot plant, the serious work starts once near dry. Id avg a light or P an hour but have chosen to use low leaf ratio strains

Maybe a bit too much leaf left on this crown, = out with the vacume once the job is done.

Once youve harvested a good number of plants you find the ideal times to pluck fans while leaving frosty bud leaf:cathug: then later removing excess for cooking/ hash, no waste.

My last strain, durga mata, took more than an hour and a half an ounce. a pound took me 24-27 hours and still did not look right. What a pain in the ass that was. That 24-27 was straight work time I clocked in and out every time I picked up or laid the scissors down.
