Yeah it's all perspective. Butte nailed it, these are all Oompa Loompas that I fly in from deep in the Congo special for photo sessions. Nobody really grows big plants. It's all about small people, novelty wine and beer bottles, and mini bic lighters for stalk shots :D

Dyeing HortaNova. You could use a 6" dia length of abs pipe with caps on it...fill it with Rit dye and hot water and let a roll of the Hortinova soak in the hot sun for a couple days. I've dyed plastics before with rit dye. It'll take the white glare off it. Most plastics will accept enouth dye to help. My thoughts as a former plastics fabricator.

Thanks Tom and OMR. I ordered some and what I'm going to do is simply spray it with some Krylon Fusion spray camo green spray paint.. If it just holds for a 7-10 days even that'll be fine.. As Tom mentioned as long as the plants grow through it it shouldn't be too noticable.. I'm only doing a 300 foot roll so I'm guessing it won't take but a $6 can of the stuff to do the trick.. I'll get some shots after I paint it and lay it out to give anyone else that may be interested in using in stealth situations an idea of how it looks..

This is by far and away my favorite thread on this site- a wealth of knowledge, spectacular plants, and good peeps. And we have not even gotten to the best part- flowering. It's gonna be EPIC.

This is maybe the biggest plant I've ever seen. It's probably 8 feet tall and 8 feet wide in each direction,at least. Maybe more.

K-mag & GAIA Green Glacial Rock Dust

K-mag & GAIA Green Glacial Rock Dust

Here are some excerpts from the Marijuana Horticulture Medical Grower's Bible, that I tied together concerning Magnesium & Calcium after hearing through the grapevine to be careful with your distribution of K-mag (don't over do it)

Extra Magnesium in soil is generally not harmful, but it can inhibit calcium uptake. Magnesium toxicity is rare and difficult to discern with the naked eye. If extremely toxic, the magnesium develops a conflict with other fertilizer ions, usually calcium, especially in hydroponic nutrient solutions. The toxic buildup of magnesium in soil that is able to grow marijuana in uncommon. Cannabis requires nearly as much calcium as other macro-nutrients. Calcium is fundamental to cell manufacturing and growth. Magnesium is found as a central atom in every chlorophyll molecule, and it is essential to the absorption of light energy. Magnesium helps enzymes make carbohydrates and sugars that are later transformed into flowers. It also neutralizes the soil acids and toxic compounds produced by the soil.
In addition, I was told this evening that people are promoting the use of Green Glacial Rock Dust as a top dressing for "Stretch & Bloom" cycle. We used a fare amount in our generator of soil when preparing the holes for the season... However, we're thinking about sprinkling a little more on the top in the next couple of days...

GAIA GREEN GLACIAL ROCK DUST:
Mined Trace Minerals A natural mineral product produced by thousands of years of glacial action. A wide variety of rocks containing a spectrum of trace minerals are collected and pulverized by the expansion/contraction action of the glacier. From Canadian moraines, this product replaces key soil elements, reversing soil depletion. Excellent source of readily available calcium, iron, magnesium and potassium plus trace elements and micro-nutrients. INCREASES PHOSPHOROUS AVAILABILITY AND IMPROVES CEC - cation exchange capacity of the soil. Any element with a positive charge is called a cation and in this case, it refers to the the basic cations, calcium (Ca+2), magnesium (Mg+2), potassium (K+1) and s odium (Na+1) and the acidic cations, hydrogen (H+1) and aluminum (Al+3). The amount of these positively charged cations a soil can hold is described as the CEC and is expressed in milliequivalents per 100 grams (meq/100g) of soil. Apply 10-20 lbs per 1000 sq ft or 500-900 lbs per acre annually or as desired.
Let me know what you think... Blessings & Respect:dance013:

has anyone used the "green plastic construction fencing" found in home depot in place of hortinova? seems super durable, and will be very supportive of the ladies, it does seem a little thick and heavy....... any ideas?
