maxibright pl2 twin 55w propergation light help needed

right i bought this light from a shop thats now shut it stoped working well won't light up i can't see both bulbs blowing at the same time, but maybe wrong

Does anyone have one of these lightsi tested bulbs n sockets witha multimeter electric thingmajig n i think it may be a bulb
So does ne one now do they need both bulbs in to work and if one bulb blows does it break the circuit or do they work with 1 bulb,

I could buy another bulb but want to know thats whats wrong before i do

Yes i think you need both working tubes connected for it to work ,i'm sure someone else can confirm if that is right.

right i bought 3 more bulbs from an online electrical place worked out cheeper to get the 3 due to extra charge if you spend less than £9 i think the bulbs where like £3.15 each which is alot cheeper than a hydro shop but the bastard still don't work so i rang maxibright got the no off the web maxigrow.com spoke to a really nice lady, my problems possibly the ballast inside she said take it to my local shop n they'll send it into them as the shop i bought it from has closed, and the main shop in town are wankers that will be funny cos i didn't get it from them, and i wasn't aware of this new shop thats opened,
I was sad that the shop i bought it from closed the guy had really good prices but never had everything in stock i think he's gone back to growin can't blame him, the big shop in town charges £66 for canna boost i get it for £43 +6pp online and they only charged £6 pp for 3 canna litre bottles last time
So you can see why i don't like them before their attitude comes into it, suppose they've gotta pay for their new merc van and new shop somehow,

I've been looking at getting the Lightwave 2ft 24w x 2 equivalent myself, especially as they're so economical to run.

How many small mother plants could I keep under this light?

Yeah those maxibrights are really easily broken even though they feel quite sturdy. I bought a really cheap noname version from Grotec hydroponics for about £40 and it feels flimsy but is still going after plenty of abuse.

i feel yor pain, Bren-i've got one too and it doesn't work-i've switched the bulbs-had it apart checked connections-nothing looks burnt out or overheated-shame because they are great when they do actually work.

sorry to hear that eddie, i took it to the new shop in town after speaking to maxibright i had to pay return postage and should get a new light fingers crossed i'm thinking of gettin a pl4 if all goes well but if they seem to fuck up a bit i may get a T5 instead

i've got one of the big T5 Lightwaves, Bren, they are good-well this one has been used and transported a couple of times and hasn't broken yet

thats the average price from most electrical wholsalers ,even screwfix sell them for similiar money ,no need for hydro shops when it comes to electrical stuff,,the t5 and t8 fittings are so much cheaper too .#

right maxibright have had my pl2 for a week, i've not heard back yet, i've ordered a lightwave t5 4 tube light was gonna get the pl4 but after my pl2 fucked up n eddies to i decided to get the t5 how do peeps find theese lights i've got m halides cfl n now theese too, i'm not sure what to make of cfl broke my first 180w or wotever n my 200w only half lights up due to my gentle hands lol noticed theres a 300w out now i think i'm gonna stick with the t5 /pl if maxibright see me right i'll tell everyone either way,

Also r digital ballast mainly lumatek worth the upgrade i'll need 3/4 600w,

been looking about n it would of been quicker and easier to buy a new ballast for this pl2 myself especially since i had to pay to send this to maxibright the shop said it will argue my case about that, but it'll be 2 wks tomorrow, maybe my lights waiting for me n the shop owners lost my number bloody stoners lol

Brens got his light fixed and back and is pleased, however maxibright/maxigrow never replied to emails they were helpfull at first, and in all honesty could of said no on some grounds if they tried (no receipt) they took the piss taking a mth i could of got the ballst online under a tenner too, but overall i'm happy,

after 2/2 bluebionics n 4/4 triesel been male, i've found some more but found some ladies to sour dabney, 2 witches ogers99 lui13, ganesh og kush bx1, kq kush, judt need to get a few cuts of each labeled rooted n wait till i've sexed the rest of the plants n find the keeper of each strain
