Be real. Nobody needs to carry more than an oz unless your selling. This prop is intended to dismantle the blackmarket while allowing for the growers and sellers to open legitimate businesses. If your too arrogant or ignorant to abide by this, then yes 19 will not change anything for you.

But those of us that have matured past the whole "fuck the gov" mindset will realize the vast benefits to 19 and how it can keep producers and users free from persecution as long as you obey the few minor details laud out in the language of 19

my statement was solely in regard to those saying things would have been different for S and KB with 19. nothing else.

i have said before that i think we have no choice, this thing needs passing. i just don't have pink tinged glasses on about how wonderful everything will be after prop 19 is passed...but hey would love to be wrong in my pessimism concerning this whole situation.

ive been pulled over by highway patrol and informed them I had a medical recommendation for cannabis and that I had 2 oz. in the trunk and asked if the officer wanted to see them. they told me "no" and let me go on my way.

was stopped because passenger had no seat belt as we were getting on freeway

amazing, i really hope this is how they treat cannabis after 19 for all, for some reason my mind is having difficulty with the concept of officers not interested in fining you. but maybe they really will be glad to concentrate on real crime.

I was pulled over by chp right outside of Taft doing about 90mph up the 5 smoking a 2gram joint of ghost og WHILE getting flagged to pull over. Put the joint out, pulled over and put it in park. CHP asks if I have mj. I told them yes I'm a patient. Hecwrites me a ticket and sends me on my way.

So why would 19 be any different? 90% of cops I've dealt with in CA don't give a shit about weed. They know rx pills, meth and alcohol are the real problems to our society...

thats very cool, is that the norm in cali? i suppose you could be right, but what will they do about looking for the other drugs.

If this is so true... why is it that in California that is the leading reason people are being arrested and thrown in jail???? They are not being arrested for intent to sell but having more than an oz on them at a time.

From my experiences, ID say yes, very few cops view mj negatively. I once had a few officers called to my dispensary when we were doing constuction as we were smoking and a neighbor in the business complex reported the smell.

I let them in and they looked around. Once they realized we were medical their demeanor changed immediatly. They were cracking jokes about how we got our meds from humboldt. Then they were laughing about all the names for the pot. Now they have been here fir a few hours and started cracking jokes about how it was"almost 420". Which left us a bit perplexed as it seemed like they wanted to get high. Of course we did not offer, but before they left they were tellin us how sometimes they pull a car over that smells of weed and well say " oh it smells like mj....you have a med card?? Right?? "" pretty much instigating the driver to say yes and don't even bother checking the car...

If 19 were passed, Id expect many more beat cops and chp to adopt this mentality...

Probably because if your carrying weight it's pounds, not just a few Gs over a zip...

Once 19 passes growers can get liscnse to cultivate large scale and dealers can open legitimate retail shops.

Get it? Once your liscensed you will be able to carry enough to supply your customers..

That means anyone with over a zip is selling. How much can you really smoke in one day??? 28g is plenty enough for personal.

19 was written conservativly so it isn't instantly shot down. In it's current text it is very appealable to smokers and non smokers alike...

when the well of anti mj money runs dry for leo agencies attitudes will change...period. i believe law enforcement officers to be very pragmatic in general....if it works to get next years salaries paid, work it. if it dont, and its not hurting anyone, ignore it.

If we are "legal" cops have no reason to fuck with us... A local LEO helps me in my grow room all the time!!! Some people shit on me because of it. It's their loss... He is a cool cat, and would smoke if he wouldn't lose his job over it... I stay in line with my numbers and I give a fuck who help's this crippled old man out, I have known him since I was "knee high to a pup" Like I said before my level of comfort has changed since getting my card, and to be a caregiver maxed on plants... This and every law to bring down the war on drugs and make people feel some level of comfort I'm all for... Peace and puffs

more than likely, this stat reflects police actions based on quantity found
under an oz, seems there as likely to have you dump the bag if you don't have rec, arrest not worthwhile
over an oz, they smell a dealer, much more worthwhile to get aggressive
so you may have a point, arrests for illegal sales(or perceived illegal sales) may not change that much
but that's a choice you will have the luxury of making by sticking to the 1 oz limit

ah..because that's the 'threshold' for jail. Of course you don't realize that the people getting the tickets...and the life long drug conviction it brings, are 100 times your 'over an ounce' arrests. And guess what? That is who this law was made for{weather I agree or not}..the 'recreational' pot smoker. Not the guy slinging ounces. Oh...sure I have taking an ounce with me before I was medical but it was for vacations. Not everyday driving around. You want a law that lets you carry any amount...so do I...but that is NOT what we are voting on!!!

i'd like to see some actual documentation on this as
to me it just sounds like fear mongering bullshit!

fact is, when Prop 19 passes the cops will lose all
interest in busting people for weed, period.

as has already been said, most cops are pragmatic
and will only persue a bust if they think it will make
them look good and how much time do you think their
bosses are gonna allow for them to waste trying to bust
people for having grows that are oversized? ...or for
weighing sacs to check that it's no more than an ounce?

come on people, when this passes it will be the
beginning of the end of cannabis prohibition.

peace, and stay safe, it ain't legal yet, SOG

just make sure your 30 min from your supply then it is just a hope skip and a jump away for the hard core smokers.

The reason I joined this site is because I thought it was a site for small time user/growers. There sure seem to be a lot of commercial types in here.

I will probably catch hell for saying that.

Not only that but 'right now' LEO uses the 'smell' of cannabis as a door opener to fucking up our lives. 'I smell pot! get out of the car' not no more! I wish I could find some statistic showing how the "smell" of cannabis lead to other charges. Happens everyday.
