And a nice looking Mikado Oak.

The garden smells really pleasurable as you approach it and walking through it you catch different wiffs from each strain. One step is hmm, fruity. A few feet over, skunky! Wish you could all walk through it with us and smoke a fatty of some clean organic delicious herb.:)

Every fall my sweet little home town is over run with people from around the world that come here looking for easy money. Not all of them are bad. Many are good. But every year there are more and more home invasions and people coming into my neighborhood that have no right to be there. They add nothing to my community and when they get paid they leave and very little of that money stays local. It is also a huge public safety issue.
That is why I love my Twisters so much and hope more of my neighbors and fellow growers will use them. Make those mom and pop ops more self sufficient and bring in less outsiders to our neighborhoods. We need to tighten up our communities.
I have been a volunteer fire fighter since my early teens and we get called out to respond to more home invasions than we do fires. Ganja D and I have already been called out to one this summer and it is still early in the season. Luckily no one was hurt during that one but many have not been so lucky. Up here we don't call law enforcement. These things are handled by the local VFD.
If you are thinking you will just come to the Emerald Triangle and easily find a job this fall you are mistaken. Most smart growers do not hire people off the streets. If you don't know someone that invites you please do not come and take your chances.
If you are a trimmer coming into the Triangle this fall, please be respectful of these small communities. Know that you are a guest and show the residents some common decency and respect. Don't be making a scene on our streets and in our neighborhoods. Be thankful to the grower you are working for who is entrusting you with their freedom and treat them with the respect they deserve. Remember to support local businesses and please use some of that easy money to support some of our underfunded local non-profits. If you can take these steps you will be welcomed back.
If you are not finding work please move on and don't loiter my streets for months.
Fall is coming real soon. I hope everyone has a safe and swift harvest.
Here is a pic of Ganja D in front of the new garden. I am really glad we took the time to put this one in. It is looking great.

the house has a totally tall-fenced and gated backyard... the front yard is not in the same perimeter, but does have a fence... its short and picket and very residential looking. Its has a gate with a rose trellis on it and yes, the person just walked thru the front gate and knocked on their door. "Hi. I was wondering if you guys have any work for trimmers?"

I saw a guy in Fort Bragg this weekend on the corner of Hwy 1 and 36? from Willits.. anyways his sign said that he was homeless and just needed a Nug to get by, could anyone spare him some BUDS??.. huh?WTF. how about a shower and a job instead.. freakin' dirty hippies... I have a very low tolerance for those that wont do whatever it takes to succeed for themselves..

Thanks for putting out this grow and all the pics, think about all the people that get inspired, me included... I fell i have nothing too say(except WOW!), pretty new in this but i have some goals because of you;)

I read through your last years thread but you know memory isnt always our good side, the question is how are the roots in the end of the season, is it rootbound in the big smartpots you have? cuz too me it seems like some you could go even bigger with!

It hurts to feel the 'fail'. You guys are doing it fucking right, teach me how!!! 8 inch stocks, jesus. Massive, hope you buy a nice chainsaw, you'll have to blow the wad on one, buy some premium gas to run it, cutting those down is going to SUCK. Have fun carrying them. ;).

Props humboldtlocal, IMPRESSIVE, and nothing short of spectacular!! If there was such a thing as "Supernova growing" you'd be some sort of master definitely the best grow I have ever seen.

Wow what a nice serene setting you have, your fantastic grow-- I could go on and on, very nice. Those stalks are classics! The trimmer looking for work should be on the cover of business news or some publication showing how rapidly things are changing for cannabis in this state. Your thread gives me and MJ lovers something to smile about..thank you..DD

wicked growing skills, it's incredible to see those plants prosper like that. just out of interest how big is the sq footage of the biggest plant you have going?

i totally get where you are coming from with those trim machines, even if you want to help locals with extra work, it's just too dangerous to have to trust a crew of 20 or so people at the most critical phase of the whole thing.

back in the day when things were more easy going over here, my mate had a 108 lamp op, at harvest times we had from 15 to 20 trimmers and we had to implement rules like driving the workers to the place in the back of a closed van, no bags allowed in the work room, no phones. then some one has to cook for them, as you can't let them off the property and stink up the whole neighborhood, potentially bring back unwanted visitors. in that way the trim machines have made things easier and much safer. we had a room with a bunch of mattresses on the floor and everyone would camp out till we were done, once the trimming began that door stayed closed and no one went in or out till we were done. now the same job that took them 7 days with 15 to 20 people can be done in 2 to 3 days with 3 or 4 people. that's with indoor anyway, must be similar with outdoor.

the one problem is that all the ripest fattest resin gland (trichome heads) will fall off in the machine. that's one thing that puts me off them, specially for personal smoke which you have flowered 10 weeks or more.

I just wanted to thank everybody who's been following this thread and enjoying it. My work right now takes every bit of focus I have to multitask and organize each day. When the work is done I sit by the computer and eat with the Ms. I just want to let everyone know that growing all these beautiful plants would have no meaning if HL and I weren't able to share it. Sharing and documenting our work here on this website really inspires and motivates me each day to push myself further. I've always dreamed of a community of people who devote themselves to growing our sacred herb, and that is why I love this website so much.
Just enjoyed a nice joint of some of HL's Bubba Kush from last year before dinner and then had a great meal while I downloaded pictures. Nice HL,bubba was killer! And yes,the trim job looked great and still lots of trichomes.
Here are some pictures of these ridiculous plants.
