whats your issue?
friggin awesome

my main issue is that its a voter initiative that gives up the true strength of being a voter initiative. why grant the legislature any rights to amend the measure... this is irregular. what's the angle?

the quick impression i get is this is keyed towards the commercial setups
the 1 oz and 25 sq ft grow are part of the core, not changeable(i.e. not smaller) from what i can see
the commercial rules are practically non-existent, by design to let localities design something that works for them
i believe the intent is to provide some way to deal with a commercial situation that might be going bad
rec shop being setup in an orphanage, or some fool thing like that, because it wasn't specifically excluded

yes. i agree that this may be the intention. or the intentional trojan horse, as someone else put it. i'm not sure I have an opinion either way... i'm just now trying to absorb and understand it.

my problem with it is this: 215 can also be moderated by ordinances. this is talking about legislation. statewide adaptation of this law by a process not normal for a voter initiative. indeed, it removes some of what makes voter initiatives a great way to play this great game of democracy.

at your discretion, of course. i wonder how much actual record of JJ getting a talking-to actually exists on ICM. careful not to erase any of gypsy's posts this time.

sorry dude. your conduct here has made me lose all respect. i kept my shit on check for many pages, but you are a tiny tyrant if i ever met one. have fun adapting history to your needs.

If you want to continue with your feeble personal attacks, you'll not be participating in this thread. Feel free to contact Gypsy regarding my being "talked to". I have nothing more at this time to say regarding this thread. I've heard things that I don't agree with and have stated my opinions regarding them. If a tyrant is someone that wants millions of people to smoke and grow legally then I guess that's what I am, lol.....

This will be the last time I warn you about trying to start arguments. Feel free to discuss the topic but anymore namecalling and arguments will be deleted.

Perhaps it is better we vote No. I am undecided ATM.

Why should we Vote yes?

We're going to remove any posts that are off topic or argumentative.

I've stated my opinion on how I feel regarding this Bill and those against it. I don't think I need to discuss it anymore......

I'm just going to read and listen for a while...

Pardon me for standing up. You are saying you will enforce Censorship.

No, I will only be enforcing the TOU. If you have anything to post relative to the Bill or things associated with it feel free to post them. But everyone, myself included got pretty hot so we're going to keep our opinions and comments meant to start arguments to ourselves....

4. Flaming/Trolling: Flames are posts intended to insult and provoke. Posters who speak incessantly and/or rabidly on some relatively uninteresting subject or with a patently ridiculous attitude will be banned. Repeated posts directed with hostility at a particular person or group of people or their beliefs will be cause for banning. Any individual who chronically trolls, who regularly posts arguments, flames or personal attacks for no other purpose than to annoy someone or disrupt a discussion will be banned. Trolls are recognizable by the fact that they have no real interest in learning about the topic at hand - they simply want to utter flame bait.

no question there are layers of complexity here
it makes more sense when you think of the situations that could arise from the lack of specifics on what a locality could do
i don't what that could be off hand, could they setup 'MJ customs checkpoints' so no one can import MJ into their business territory?
i don't think so(not that was practical), but some unintended consequences seem possible

Why should we Vote yes?

because it lets you buy, grow, process, smoke, eat or rub your cock with pot or any extract thereof in the privacy of your own home without having to lie to a doctor, lie to the state, beg the state for permission, pay anyone,or fear fine or arrest for doing so.

do you need more reason than that? there are more.

I think us older smokers are more passionate regarding the possibility that a State would finally legalize growing and smoking. It's been something some have been waiting 30, 40 and some even 50 years to see happen. It's very disheartening to me to see what's happening. I would possibly trade my home to see this happen in my State. It's not perfect, but it could be a lot worse. Things can always be expanded later, but getting that piece of legalization is very important......

Now I would like to say that my hopes for Cali legalizing does not mean that I like Richard Lee. To be honest, I don't trust him. His thinking he will have a "monopoly" growing marijuana is very unlikely. There are a lot of people with a lot more money than he has. Even though I don't like what I think he may be trying to do, I'll give him some credit for getting something going to make Cannabis growing and smoking legalized for adults....

If you are looking for Cali to set an example, we already did! Copy prop 215 and make Medical Marijuana legal in your state! Once it is fully in place you might feel a little different about passing something like Prop 19 in your state!

Once you get busted down here you might feel a little different about NOT passing something like Prop 19...:ying:

Not really cause I`m old enough to remember the harsh laws that used to be in place here in California at one time and I grew and sold grass back then anyway. One stem ment jail time and it didn`t deture me then! Now I do understand what you are up against but I`m not willing to compramise my goals of true freedom even if it ment going to jail so why would I do that now and allow my vote to progress a bill or law that adds two new laws to arrest people for smoking Marijuana like prop 19 does? Why would I want the state to tax me for what I already do ? Why would I agree to Regulate or control what I already do anyway? This state is broke they can`t aford to contenue to arrest people and keep them in jail much longer as it is.We don`t need to give up freedoms in order to make Marijuana lawful. The state would save money if they decriminalized marijuana by not plugging up Police, courts, and jails. As for taxes I see no way out of recreational marijuana being taxed with sales taxes but why add injury to insult by adding other taxes? We just don`t need to tax, regulate, or control marijuana in order to make it legal here in California! We just need to get a real prop on the ballot and people will vote into law! We can write a prop that gives both individuals and corprate intrests an even playing field!

You would also see a lot of very pissed off stoners once they find out what a bunch of krap prop 19 would be to live with! It`s all about some people making big money off of marijuana while the little guy gets his rights taken away from him! For one thing think you will be able to smoke in your own home? Not if you have children under 21 there because the man will come take you to jail for smoking in front of a minor! You don`t like the schools programing your kids with the Dare Program krap now just wait! Oh and many places in Cali will inact even tuffer new zoning laws about growing and then with the new powers given local goverments to tax! Oh yes just wait and see what a bunch of krap prop 19 will become if it becomes law! And hope your kid doesn`t get caught with any grass because it won`t just be a ticket anymore but a nightmare!
