Help me design a cab

So I have 3 mothers sitting and waiting to be cloned. I decided to scale back my initial idea and start off with a cab. The cab will be 36 by 30 and up to 6 foot 5. My first question is do I need that much height? My second question is I will be running a cool tube and filter seperate. Should I go 400 watts or 600? I know the 600 will give me much better buds but should I do it? I really would like to do a few passive intakes with no fans. Also the heat will basically just be recirculating unless I figure a way to vent it out of the closet. 400 watt gives me 53 lumens per foot and 600 is 80 lumens per foot. 400 the way to go? I will be running sog with 25 or so plants. Thanks for the advice!

your gonna have to vent it out. whether your using a 400 or 600, its gonna get stupid hot in there and your going to have to get it out of there somewhere. anyways, if you can get the cooling, i would go with the 600. i had been closet growing with a 400 for a few years, and finally made the jump to two 600s, and am very happy i made the switch. didnt get anywhere near the density with the 400 that i do with the 600s. hope all works out for you.

Ya I figured, the cab will be placed inside a 5 x 5 walk in closet, the closet door is always open... not sure how I'm going to get it out... cutting holes isnt really an option

Just a thought... how hot do you think it'll get in there if I went with the 600 watt, sealed off the cabinet, made the filter recirculating and just had the 600 be cooled with a can fan and then add C02? Is that doable?

Dude I have a grow box that is 3x3 ID, it has a 600W dimmable ballast. It also has a 170CFM fan pulling exhaust from one end of the glass sealed hood. Pulling that much air cools it down to ambient temp plus 12-14 degrees. Without that much air movement the temps would run much higher. I think your going to have to vent it.......shredder

Not without AC its not. You need to vent the air out of that closet, quit thinking about sealed of recirculating, that is very difficult. You need to vent your heat out of the closet through a carbon filter to a different area so your passive intakes are drawing in ambient temps from surrounding room.

you probably couldnt even re-circ air with a 150w hps, let alone a 600. you will have to vent the hot air outside the cab and have an intake bringing in cooler air.

yea definitely going to have to do what everyone is saying. is the closet in a bedroom? first floor or second?
