lol heath, looks just like any old shrub. someone was playing with that plant called bindy/dizzy but i dont think much came of it. crossed with some leb27 or other early sativa, it could be a brilliant stealth plant for gardens which we couldnt previously grow in. dont loose it :D

Can just imagine the sheer joy on minime's face as he swings back and forth on his swing and surveys his cannabis plants! And the slide is just a bonus!

Have none of you worked it out yet ? It`s not a slide it`s a gradient seed collecter , minime`s applied for a patent on it .
Here is how it works . Place bucket at bottom of slide , drink 12 cans of Stella & climb ladder with a bundle of dried plants . NIGHT TIME IS ADVISED FOR THIS PROCEDURE . Then bash the plants on the incline to loosen the seeds which will roll all the way down & drop into the bucket . Sweep up the buds & place in seperate bags , no manicure needed !!! .
blue berry , the plants are looking nice & it looks like your getting some sunshine as well .

Had e-mail from zed today , he`s been on & quickly looked over the threads & will be on to post soon .

Stay green .

Lolz @ industrial seed collector! I don't think i could manage 3 cans of Stella let alone 12! (i more or less gave up alcohol years ago). Good news is i gave up tobacco a couple of weeks ago ... it's going alright!

Personally i'd love a wake 'n' bake in the garden, ... swing on the swing puffing on fat reefer and drinkin mug of tea, admiring cannabis plants. Perfect!

Hello Heath!

Grow update

So my five feminised Frisian Dews were put outdoors in the ground on June 28th where they had a few good sunny days and showers for the next week. The last week however we've had quite alot of rain but it's been overcast and grey. We've had none of this scorching weather some of you folks have had. It's all swings and roundabouts i guess.
A week ago when i visited them i nipped quite alot of topshoots to encourage sidebranches to grow up and out in line with the top of the plant and on tonight's visit i see they've been doing just that. Not mutch vertical growth but they're bushing out with nice strong branches. By October i think i'll have some nice round bushes.

Here you can see they're still only just over 3' tall. The bracken behind is about 5':

Oh slugs have been nibbling away at the base of one of my plants. I'm concerned they might actually fell the thing if they carry on. Is there something i can paint the base of the stem with to deter them or something i can cover it/wrap it with?

And I've left my most exciting post for last...

This is the culmination of 5 years of work. I've heard it said that it couldn't be done or that it was simply too difficult...

Well it was difficult but as you can see, it is possible and as far as I'm aware, these are the only ones of their kind in the world...

It gives me great pleasure to introduce to you all...

I actually had my first Auto Webbed Indica in May of 2009 but this is the first generation that I can honestly say is 100% auto and 100% webbed.

Just place a cane into the ground & tie the plant in a few places with a bow-knot , wrap string around cane once then around plant that way if the strings get tight you can undo & tie again . You could also wrap some electrical tape over the wound but keep an eye on it in case that tightens , at least with elec tape it will stretch a bit . Get some copper tape from a garden centre & place a coil around the base of the plant , or copper wire wrapped loosely in a coil . Slugs will not x copper , it contains a minute electrical charge which gives the slug a shock , think of a whack of electric on a wet arse !!!

Somehow i forgot about copper wire but yes your absolutely right. Thanks! It won't be a problem buying a bit but i also wonder if stripped electrical cable would work just as well? Is electric cable pure copper or not i simply have no idea?

I've used stipped copper cable and it works a treat make sure not to constrict the stalk though like i done lastyear:wave:

JGP is right , stripped copper cable works fine . I did say
or copper wire wrapped loosely in a coil .
. It dose`nt matter how close the coils are as the slug has to x at least 1 of them to either get through or over . If the cables stiff place in a fire of newspaper for a minute or so to Anneal it , should bend easier .

Todays copper haul. Went out to see what i could find and almost immediately spied some shopfitters stuffing old cable into their rubbish. Then i went into wilkinsons and found these copper plant labels for £2. ... a small price to pay compared to the loss of a few ounces of bud.

It's pissing down here again today, we've really had enough rain now and everyone's grumpy for lack of sunshine. :peek:

Thanks those plant labels are just what Ive been looking for. Might finally get labels where I can still read them 2 months later.

As to snails/slugs and copper. Im wondering if tin foil would work. I might go snail herding and see.

Oh BTW, make sure no other plants touch yours, they can climb up and cross over onto your preciouses. Snail do this more, slugs are fat and lazy and just like to ringbark everything.

Which is exactly what they're doing to one of my plants ... i didn't think i'd have a problem cause the base of the stem was fairly thick ... about 2.5cm, but no, they're ringbarking it like you say so it's reminiscent of an apple core.
BTW Ol' Smokey, the copper labels are purely for slug defence, i'm not using them as labels myself but i see your point.

Yup me too, Pure spite for putting perlite round them. Perlite does not work! Like you, I didn't know slugs would do this. Thought they would go for soft leaf, but I caught the bugger doing it!

Plant seemed ok till it started flowering, then it really suffered once that extra stress was on it.

Ill use Labels for both uses. A lot neater as well. Good luck with your grow.
