so i've got 8 bogglegum bushes under 2k lights. i am finally about to start week two of flowering after 8-9 weeks of veg. my question is, has anyone ran 10 gallon grow bags of coco? i'm sure some have i just wanna have an idea of how much water other peoples plants like to drink on a daily average throughout the flower.

my 10 gallon grow bags have approx 7-8gallons of coco with 2" of lava rock in each bag. here are some pics. any suggestions would be appreciated

I use#10 pots, not bags, of pure coco. BioBizz!

We water every third day and alternate watering(with a few extras) with out nute recipe. ( mostly AN)

Does that help? with the rock you will get more drainage so adjust for that.

Wont the coco stay too wet in that big containers ?

I couldnt imagine to manage a grow in so much coco, i bet i would get fungus and that stuff.

What size of container you start ?

thx

I use 10 gallon pots filled with 10 gallons of straight b'cuzz coco, the plants that are in them right now have NO problem drying out the 10gal pots within 24 hours they get fed a little more than a gallon each day, I don't water to runoff at all house & garden drip clean prevents salt buildup in the medium so run off is unnecessary. I have noticed that they develop much more roots when they get put into a 10 from a 3 or 4gallong pot as opposed to a 1gal

No, i don't think coco (straight coco like the bio-bizz) can breed fungus or molds. suppose to not allow fungus gnats an environment to live in.

we go from clone to 2 gallon for 2.5 months under T5, then 10 gallon for flower. (fyi, we grow huge) with a mix of 600hps and 1000mh

i grew some monsters with 1 gallon coco under 600watt, with 10gallons you can grow trees and dont have to worry about the roots :)

cheers

10 gallon coco smart pot

10 gallons is way on overkill with 2k.

Here 2 gallon coco in spinout pot multiple waterings per night

my plants started from cuts in red beer cups then transplanted to 1 gallon pots and eventually the 10 gallon grow bags and even though you would think it would stay too wet, it doesnt! thats why im asking what the max someone would maybe water a 10 gallon pot of straight coco. im at day 14 of flower and it takes a half gallon to keep them wet for 24 hours and then its time for a new watering but tonight i will up the watering on each container by at least 2-4 cups

I also do 4 trees per 1kw Magnum 8 hood. 5 gallons will get you by without issue. 10 is a waste of coco, and space, imo. Just something to think about.

10's work well for me because I only have 5 plants under 3k...completely filling a 100sqft canopy

Ya I wasnt speaking of you man, just 4 10gals per hood. Your setup looks easy n simple man. Good stuff dude.

Oh ya btw, lemme know when youre hittin vegas up next.

if not 4 ten gallon per 1k it would have been 9 five gallon buckets per light so do the math there.

Seems that some people(op) aren't utilizing their root space? Growing buds isnt just about doing math, it requires experience. I dont give a fuck if I didnt "do the math". Ive ran all these mentioned sizes except for the 10gals in dwc and coco, and I know what I need to get a good run. I know for a fact, I can grow 4 trees in home depot 5 gallons under 1kw and pull atleast 7/8 of a lb. per hood. And guess what... When I chop em and check out the roots, they had plenty of space.

Maybe apply for an accountant position and put the garden shears down, lol. Good luck finding the right size pot...

4 girls in 5 gallon buckets is plenty of rootspace for 1k of light. The only harm with 4 girls in 10 gallons under 1k is to your wallet. They simply do not need that much root space for that amount of light.

Water daily with a lil runoff.
