fuck fuck! how do I SOUND PROOF a door???

So what I did:

Took weather strip and put that around the door frame. Then took PINK BAT insulation and stuff that under the door. Closed the door and added Foam that has Egg Carton design on it that was $80 for 4x8 foot and we screwed that into the wall.

Noise is also penetrating through the wall.... I may also screw in a few egg cartons here and there... you think that would work?? like screw it in against the wall?

have to worry about it melting? does the whole wall need to be covered or holes in it okay? or will all the sound energy find the weak link and go through that?

what's causing the noise? fans? ballasts? what...?

More details would help. Is it noise that is coming through the walls, or vibration?

is it pumps (air and/or liquid)??, ballast(s)??, fans??? like "GMG" asks too???

u should take a hard look at your noise source!!!

Well, if you want it good, then better cover the wall as well. Can't you get genuine egg cartons made of paper pulp ? I'm wondering if these chemical foam might release some nasty chemicals in the air, so with walls covered with it... I'm only supposing here...

Seriously if I was that worried about noise I'd stop DWC (just guessing) and just do soil coco or hempy.

hmmmm, if it's for an indoor grow op I strongly advise not to use the egg-carton-shaped foam as there might be some kind of reaction with terpenes released in the air by plants, producing some nasty compounds that could contaminate the plants.
Genuine egg carton is the way to go.

take an old mattress and put it against the door, i use to do this in my sound studio. It was a task every time we had to open and close the studio door. lol

well since you're willing to spend $80 on one 4x8 sheet...check out sound board at your local casa de pot. one layer sound board, one layer 2x(whatever), second layer sound board. shit is great if you use the sandwhich method as described. i'd do the whole wall.
