"(When you shake your head, your hair sways; when your mind begins to work, your body moves.) When a strong wind blows, the grass and trees can no longer remain still, when the earth shakes, the seas are atremble. Thus if one can move Shakyamuni Buddha, the lord of teachings, can the grass and trees fail to respond, can the waters remain calm?"

Theme: Repeatedly Strengthening Our Resolve Causes Our Benefit To Multiply. -LB pg. 50.

  • [*]Faith in the Mystic Law serves as our compass for navigating the rough seas of life and society. ...it is important that we are not swayed by negative influences but make faith the center of our daily life and existence.

  • [*]By continually reaffirming our commitment to faith, our lives in this transient existence become adorned with the everlasting and indestructible treasures of eternity, happiness, true self and purity. (The four virtues).

  • [*]Life, in one sense, is a constant battle against deadlock. ...If life were all smooth sailing, if we never encountered setbacks, that itself would be a sign of stagnation.

  • [*]All of us at times feel stuck or at an impasse in our lives or undertakings. But it is precisely when we are deadlocked that our faith is put to the test; such a time represents a decisive moment to seize victory. ...If we actively grapple with our problems, we can definitely change inside and transform our karma.

  • [*]Everything lies before us. Everything comes down to an inner struggle. It is one's mind, one's heart, that is important. -President Ikeda LB pg. 50-52.

"The circumstances of each family are different. Their mealtimes and bedtimes, and their daily schedules are all different. Some families have those struggling with illness, while others have children studying for school entrance exams. In some cases, not every family member is practising Nichiren Daishonin's Buddhism. When leaders visit families, they should always behave with impeccable courtesy and consideration, such as phoning in advance. Sometimes it's better to just talk at the doorway without intruding on the family's home life. It's especially vital to show the utmost care and consideration to families who open their homes for discussion meetings and other Gakkai activities.

"...respect for others is the fundamental guiding principle for all Buddhists. Leaders must never get emotional and scold members or treat their juniors in a disrespectful or dismissive way.

"As Nichiren Daishonin states: 'Always remember that believers in the Lotus Sutra should absolutely be the last to abuse one another. All those who keep faith in the Lotus Sutra are most certainly Buddhas, and one who slanders a Buddha commits a grave offence.' (WND-1, 756).

I do not want to be one of the few who share his/her understanding or for all of you to hold off from sharing your feelings and comments on some of my posts. I really want some of you to open up and express yourselves in regards to our faith. There is no such thing as an unwelcomed comment in my opinion, only if we can be open to each other understandings and reflect on our thinking.

pb

I first want to thank you for taking the time to share the Gosho with everyone. For anyone wanting to read the entire texts of these Gosho, you can use the search function on the thread (they are all already here) or use the underlined link that pb supplies with each post. Brother, I really want to get into comments, but have just been busy with my six kids (and the moves the Chicago Bulls are making in NBA free agency--I'm a little distracted at the moment). I so appreciate you stepping up and making the effort that you are!

For the record, may I say that I have not disagreed with ANY point you have made. If anyone else has, they should express themselves. I think it's pretty clear that pb came here because he understands where we are all coming from, and agrees. I see another Buddha having joined our ranks. We should be most greatful, in my opinion.

Between pb, Wilson!, SoCal, Easy, Bud and myself, we have over 150 years of faith and practice in the SGI, practicing the Buddhism of Nichiren Daishonin. We all have our own understandings and opinions. Let's share them and see what we learn from each other.

Bowing in humble obeisance to all,

Thomas

"Although I and my disciples may encounter various difficulties, if we do not harbour doubts in our hearts, we will as a matter of course attain Buddhahood. Do not have doubts simply because heaven does not lend you protection. Do not be discouraged because you do not enjoy an easy and secure existence in this life."

Why do some SGI Bodhisattvas' receive donations equal to mid six figure salaries while other Bodhisattvas [who work equally as hard for Kosen Rufu] make these donations to the former group of Bodhisattvas, never receiving a dime for their efforts? Can you or Thomas, help me to understand?

...Thomas, help me to understand?

Buku? How stupid do you think I am? I think you're really Mark (or someone aligned with him), right? First let’s qualify your accusation as being bullshit and how dare you come on here and spew it? Do I come to your place and bother you?

You have never proven your claim of “mid six figure incomes” outside of Japan. So qualify that. No American members are supporting salaries of more than $330,000 a year. Are there senior leaders making six figure incomes? Yes. Is that selfish? Let’s think about it.

The handful of people you are talking about are all highly skilled and talented people that were already making REAL mid-six figure incomes in their private lives (unlike you Mark). How much of a hit must one take to the wallet to show faith? How does anyone know what they do with that income in regard to giving back to society, or what obligations they may have that necessitates it?

Why do we pay our government officials so much in tax dollars? Because we have to in order to draw the talent needed to get the job done. The same thing will happen to you Mark, if you ever succeed in destroying the SGI, and stealing its membership. When you get as big as you think you'll be, you'll have to staff your organization as well.

I think you said you were going to personally build yourself a temple and hire a priest to take care of it. Do all priests cost the same? Depending on how big the temple is, you may need a priest that is a very capable person.

Would it be inappropriate to pay the priest with the most experience a wage that is commensurate with his capabilities or experience? That’s the way it works in real life. When you stop living in your fantasy, perhaps you’ll understand that—but probably NOT.

Frankly, you are just a moron with a bone to pick. You are a liar and will stoop to anything to accomplish your goals. Your priest leader Sham-on-you is also a fraud. Who ever heard of a priest calling another human being a swine in a demeaning and disrespectful tone? Show me the Gosho where the Daishonin ever denigrates another human being the way you two do on a daily basis.

This has nothing to do with your question, but get the fuck out of here and stay out. I don’t have to deal with your shit and I’m not going to. I’m asking Bud, Payaso, DG and Sleepy to delete you as soon as they see you, anytime you try and post. For everyone not aware of it, this is the dude that has been attacking us for almost the last year—the one that claims the site is about distribution.

But thanks for stopping in! Maybe I’ll return the favor some day!

Gazpacho,

Thomas

Theme: Protecting the Law Means Steadfastly Proclaiming the Truth. -LB pg. 52.

  • [*]Nichiren Daishonin always waged his struggle based on the Law. Accordingly, he was very strict about distinguishing between correct and erroneous Buddhist teachings. When considering a particular teaching, he would ask: "Is this a correct teaching that seeks to actualize the Buddhist ideal of universal enlightenment? Or is it an erroneous teaching that distorts this fundamental principle and causes people suffering?" He clarified what was true and what was false, safeguarding the correct teaching and refuting erroneous teachings. This is the way in which Nichiren strove to protect the Law. -President Ikeda LB pg. 52-53.

Thomas,
Who is Mark?
and how do you know it was him?

You said some harsh words to him, who ever he was!

Is he that evil?

pb

Please check out my post 11484. Yes he's that evil! He has devoted his life to destroying the Gakkai. I knew it was him the moment I started to read the question.

Much love and deepest respect,

T
